Re: Target LUFS?

Thanks guys for the feedback. I agree that this issue can be dependent on the genre and personal references. I read something recently about electronic music still being the wild west when it comes to loudness and it will be the last to conform to any loudness standards. Really though, if I was doin...

So is it a big help to match one's percussive sounds to the key?
I think everything with fundamental prominence should be tuned.

Target LUFS?

I'm producing a techno-inspired electronica album that will be released digitally and physically. I am aware of the war on loudness in the digital realm but I'm torn with giving a physical album to somebody that is not loud enough. Should I try to have different masters or find some middle ground be...

Re: Oeksound Soothe

I finally had an opportunity to begin my trial with this plugin on a crazy FM synth lead in a track I was mixing yesterday and it works great! Amazing plugin and I hope to buy it soon after my trial. The newest version 1.1.2 of Soothe on the website was buggy on my system but I scrolled down on thei...

Re: (additive electronica) Imaginary Friends II

I think simply having a camera man for this, gave me that extra boost to to make the effort to finish a project, rather than continue to keeping adding to the long list of experiments I have been making, that don't seem worthy of investing any time into. The tamborine actually had bones in it, so I...

Undo. Drag to where you want it. Backtracking is not the way of the one day project! :D I'm all about that canvas workflow! Shift + click n drag does the job Shift click+drag is in reason since 8 or something only found that out recently myself   Excellent thanks! :) I had a feeling I s...

Auto Reroute

PLEASE DELETE OR MOVE TO TUTORIAL SECTION. :D

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I would love an auto reroute function. For example, you accidentally put a compressor before existing EQ in a chain and you want to drag it down and have it routed after the EQ.

This sounds like Teflon Tomb 2.0 as if you've been away on a great journey and you return bearing gifts of dopamine release for the psychedelic enthusiasts. Your video work is entertaining as always. Love the odd shots of your Akai on the bicycle and in the oven. I interpreted a visual of you playin...

Wonderfully serene track with enough energy to inspire exploration for an invigorating experience. Nice to learn something new about the world. :) I would've stopped arrangement at 04:15. The next section takes away from the vibe with the intense synth resonance which can be a bit overwhelming. Nice...

Re: Moody Techno with Ozone 8

Keep the vids and exposure coming, you'll get there. If I was you I'd play your mastered song at the end of the youtube vid (and eventually whenever it happens, link to the BUY button), i know it makes it longer, but hell, 16m vs 22m is small beer really for most. They don't want to have to switch ...

Re: Dynamic EQ?

One issue with using CV for audio control is it’s not running at audio rate. Not that it matters that much in most cases, but if you’re trying to catch transients, such as for ducking one instrument to make room for others (to control overall peak levels), then CV may lag too much to catch the high...

Re: Moody Techno with Ozone 8

Love that bass with the subtle down sampling. Interesting catch! Decimort and ABL3 are meant to be. :) Thanks for the comments. it was so interesting to see what you were doing. Thanks for the feedback! The db range on the Ozone EQ is more "shallow" as a mastering EQ should be rather than a lot of ...

Re: D16 Toraverb2 is out

I just really like the way REs are integrated. It's why I switched to Reason in the first place. Oh well  I agree. The pop-up window and the tiny GUI on Toraverb kind of turns me off. That's not what I want to be dealing with when I'm trying to get a project done in twelve hours. :| Oopsie...

I’m not upgrading. Feeling screwed having just got advanced of both. I also recently upgraded (although I'm only on Ozone) That Tonal Balance Control and referencing is mighty tempting for me though. As somebody who does twelve hour projects with a few beers down by the time Ozone comes int...

If you're willing to go the VST route, there are some excellent dynamic EQs:
  • TDR Nova (free!)
  • Waves F6
  • oeksound soothe
  • Sonnox DynamicEQ (expensive)
This reminds me Ozone 7 has dynamic EQ which I haven't tried yet. :o Hopefully soon!

How reliable is Carve when it comes to effectiveness and accuracy? I read there were some issues. Just looking at it in the shop, I'm thinking I need a better display than that for starters. :|
