Re: Anyone still using the Expert Sleeper's Silent Way RE?
Shit. I hadn't thought of this. Have you done it before? My audio interface is screwed at the moment so can't try it. I know it works for other things, but wasn't sure if it worked for SW. I haven’t tried it in ages, and I doubt I still have the same VCO’s to confirm the tuning, but any settings in...

Re: Full Wave Rectifier RE?
My suggestion is to do it the modular way. It's free. I've never tried it with Reason but have with hardware, should work fine.
Split the signal.
Invert one of the signals.
Half-wave rectify both signals separately.
Recombine.

Now you know. It's not perfect. But it's decent. If you have the VST though and it works well I wouldn't recommend unless they allowed calibration saving and/or manual tuning.

Re: Anyone still using the Expert Sleeper's Silent Way RE?
2. One massive drawback is that you have to tune it before you use it (after loading Reason). This is so irritating. This is PARTLY due to the fact that REs can't save to text files, so no special settings can be saved. But to be honest you should be able to use it untuned. If I just want to use it...

Re: Anyone still using the Expert Sleeper's Silent Way RE?
No, mostly because the Silent Way RE has a bug that won't allow velocity to work, and the VST's work really damn well once you get used to working with them (I use their SW LFO more than any other LFO expect for Tonicmint's CV Pistons RE). I'm mostly at a point of just saving a Combinator that has ...

Anyone still using the Expert Sleeper's Silent Way RE?
I'm on Reason 8 (so pre VST support) and this is my experience with Silent Way RE. https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/silent-way-voice-controller/ 1. It is amazing because it's super simple. I really dislike the Silent Way VST package, it's awkward to use and ugly. It works almost fla...

Re: new overdub
Hi guys thanks for the input, unfortunately I don't think I've made myself clear. Pressing '.' works for making a new track. However, sometimes the new track is completely new and I have to manually change the recording input to match the previous one, which is very time consuming and defeats the pu...

new overdub
Hi all When I press the full stop key (' . ') it makes a new overdub track and mutes the previous track. The strange thing is though every time I pressed it, on the new audio track I had to change the input again, after 10 times this got quite annoying but then all of a sudden every new track kept t...

Re: Control Automation from outside Reason
Hi, you can do this with some limitations. First of, the remote sdk makes it possible to send out a text string that is called "item_name_and_value", for example “Level: -3 db” or “Pan: -12”, if you have a programmable display per encoder you can make use of it. But this works only with re´s and it...

Control Automation from outside Reason
Hi all So. Not sure if this is possible. Let's say I want to control the Attack of a Synth from outside Reason. Attack varies from 2ms to 10s.. That is probably 1000s of possible settings. So a simple (7-bit) MIDI message here won't suffice as 128 values is not enough. The other problem is, even if ...

Re: Authorizer is broke :(
UPDATE: Got lucky. I got it working again.
Since it was a problem with the authorizer I downloaded a Reason 11 trial which updated my authoriser. I then successful updated my REs and have now deleted the trial.

Re: Authorizer is broke :(
thanks.. Guess I won't be able to use Reason anymore then :( It worked okay until I tried to update the REs.. Dammit. I guess I'll wait for v12 before I update. It’s a hard lesson, but you should go back to your previous MAC OS version ( I presume you have a full backup?). I’ve learned never to upg...

Authorizer is broke :(
Hi everyone. My authorizer stopped working since I updated to MacOs Catalina.
A few of my REs which were due an upgrade are now unavailable and I can't sync them. It keeps failing.
Is there a new version of authorizer or something?

Re: Reason 8 / file save as
Select all audio tracks and delete the unused recordings. Should bring the size down. Reason is very smart and keeps all files inside the song file so you can move it without destroying reference points. I need all the tracks. So won't be deleting any. To be honest that ain't really that smart. It'...

Reason 8 / file save as
Hi everyone Hope you're all well I'm wondering.. I have a file with loads of wav files within. about 1.5gb worth. Everytime I press 'Save As' and choose another file name so my old one is backed up it says 'copying files' and you can see loading until it reaches 1.5gb. Where are these being copied (...

Re: Kong physical modeling of Snares
Going to trial this https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/tech/applied-acoustic-systems-chromaphone-2-637882 And see what it sounds like. Got good reviews. As for me to be good enough on FM synths will probably take years. It is a very good physical synth which creates several different sounds based o...

Re: Kong physical modeling of Snares
Some Reason users either use those, some actually moved on to doing that in synths. Some Reason guys actually moved away from that one years ago to make drums in a full synth : / You can do a hell of a lot with those, but if you want more exact control then you would also move. What would you use a...

Kong physical modeling of Snares
Not really used the modelled snares much in Kong but heard they are good. At least by 10 years ago's standards, but I don't see much competition regarding this. I'm away from computer for a week or 2. I'm wondering 1. How do they compare with other physically modelled snares 2. Do you use them and h...
