Re: [industrial techno/experimental electronic/ambient/field recordings] whitegold&monolith: In The American Fields

Just having a quick skim through but it sounds fucking tasty. 'Girl' has some nasty smooth vibes. It does indeed sound good on headphones.

(metal, electro) Violet Dread - album

Hey guys, a friend and I made an album, all created in Reason 11. I used Emissary for the distorted guitars, and Kuassa Creme for the cleans. We recorded the vocals in the living room, so not ideal but I think it came out alright. Pretty much all hardware for the sounds, TR-8 for drums, with some la...

This is great and sounds like something you'd hear on the radio. Vocal sits perfectly in the track. That kick/bass combo is delicious.
Thanks! I'm impressed you found this song.

Re: (metal) Violet Dread

Interesting project Bloma. "Born" and "Numb" are my personal favorites. Love the heavy riffing and the raw vocals. Vocals kind of reminded me a bit of Dillinger Escape Plan and Spineshank at points. Thanks heaps Tritone, yeah the vocalist is into a lot of bands like Dillinger that have th...

Re: (synthwave) Shadow Of A Doubt

Cool song. Synths sound really great. I honestly could imagine it quite a bit more intense as it builds, for example more prominent hi hats/percussion that really emphasize the groove. The tom roll that hits at 2:19 sounds great, but the section after doesn't do it justice. I feel the clap/snare doe...

(metal) Violet Dread

https://violetdread.bandcamp.com/album/demo I started a project with a friend, who's the vocalist. Style is kinda nu-metal/electro/screamo with some dance beats and also shoegaze. Used a Roland TR-8 for drums, Schecter 7 string for guitars, running through an analogue delay and chorus sometimes, als...

Nice. But at the bottom ist to much bass and yout sound ist overcompessed*
Thanks for the feedback. I made it mostly with headphones so there could be some bass here and there that's out of whack. Can't say I hear it as over-compressed, maybe it's a taste thing?

(ambient/soundtrack) Cambor Luxencorp (album)

https://paulanstey.bandcamp.com/album/cambor-luxencorp It's a synth-based ambient album. Used a lot of Thor, and some Yamaha DX7, and Roland System-1. Was really just a collection of tracks I made over a short period, and remembered I'd made them recently so decided to release them. I used some Airw...

Re: (dreamy rock) no one down here

I listened to the first track. I'm pretty sure I've heard that one before right? Either way it's a cool track. Nice blend of modern and old sounds and somehow together the combination becomes its own thing. The synth intro could work perfectly as a Fear Factory bit and even the first singing part (...

Re: I really, really should learn how to program synths.

That FM workshop sounds really interesting. I just dug up the course documentation. It was a lot of theory about frequencies and how they interact with each other, with a lot of FFT-graphs and stuff like that. The second part of the course goes into specific DX7 sounds and analyses how they are bui...

Great sound, I really like the compression and saturation over it. If you listen to Vangelis stuff, for example Blade Runner, it's distorted and compressed as fuck but in a really appealing way.

Didn't listen to all the tracks, just the first one and my oh my it's quite the vibe. No one down here is really good. Might have to listen to the others when I have more time. The mix is excellent as well. Good work. I wasn't on board with the first minute and then it all turned around quickly. Th...

Re: I really, really should learn how to program synths.

Personally it was hardware that got me into it, a Korg Minilogue specifically. Something about all of the controls being laid out physically in front of me made it more understandable. From there I got right into Thor and am still right into Thor.

I like that explanation. Especially that bigger picture part. You want to tell a story in a certain ‘language’. As with life, some people understand the language you use, while others dont or do but to a lesser extend. No offense to Bloma oc.✌️ yes, you could say it like that. different music can r...
