Re: Reason 10.4 Update
Also, in terms of the update, always welcome. I wasn't that impressed with the sound of mono, but that's prob because I've been playing with legend recently. I love reason and realise with a bit processing it wil sound nicer. Dunno tho, not to be ungrateful, adessing long standing, much requested se...

Re: Reason 10.4 Update
I was messing with dune 3 in 10.4 a min ago and I noticed some audio glitches but just one bar of cpu flickering. When I deleted my instance of dune reason got real laggy, I've never experienced that before. I loaded spire and the sound was all messed up and choppy and laggy. I deleted spire then lo...

Re: Propellerhead Software Names Niklas Agevik as CEO
I'd be gutted if they were sold. I really really really hope that doesn't happen. I have no great love for brands or businesses, but I have a real soft spot for propellerheads an for that reason have supported them by updating every version. Like literally I can't think of a single business or brand...

Re: Google i/o Reason running in a browser
I don't expect to see Reason move to an exclusively web-based platform. It'd be more than a bit absurd to spend months and months on 10.3's massive code overhaul to optimize the performance of their software if they were planning to deprecate it in favor of a new engine (which would also be slower ...

Re: Propellerhead Software Names Niklas Agevik as CEO
I respect Ernst etc and I am thankful for the innovations Reason has brought to us to date. It is by far my preferred DAW and as much as I am excited to continue to grow with it, I am not convinced all of this will end well. Maybe it will all just continue to trundle along and nothing major will hap...

Re: Google i/o Reason running in a browser
If this comes to fruition, I can envision PH going the subscription route like Adobe. And as much as I love Reason, I think that might be the end of the journey for me. That was my first thought too. With the looming 5G advances running a full fledged DAW online may be feasible in the future. I thi...

Re: How are vsts handled by computer?
This may not work for several VSTs depending on their licenses and authorization. Yea I thought so. But I don't use mny so would just be with the ones that work. My d16 plugs worked when I tried it with my USB 3 drive, as licence key is a file downloaded and kept in same folder as vst. I'll see how...

Re: How are vsts handled by computer?
The HD just has impact on disc IO (input/output or read/write data). In most cases it is loading the VST and samples. A VST is a DLL which is nothing else than a file with a specific structure containing code and data, just like a executable file. The application can read and understand the structu...

How are vsts handled by computer?
Hey, hope every one is well. I am wondering how does my computer handle and process vsts? Say I open an instance of massive. It is installed on my second drive (E:). It is obv executed from there, does the ram then handle the actual use of it? What resources are used? I ask as I am wondering the fea...

Hey guys, Thanks very much for the advice and info. I'm still holding off but tempted. I had been thinking along the lines of what you guys confirmed. Insight does look cool too Enoch, thanks. Im going to mix a few tracks i have over the weekend with standard and see how it goes. I dare say i will p...

Izotope Ozone 8 Advanced - Much better than standard?
Hello, I have Ozone standard, Advanced upgrade is on sale just now. I am thinking about upgrading but wonder if anyone has any input on whether the upgrade is worth it? I don't really mind using standard having to have all the modules in the one instance, though I have thought it would be nice to ju...

Re: ToneBoosters Performance In R10
I tested it again last night and I can confirm that these plug ins perform terribly in R10. One of the spikes in audio almost deafened me / blew my headphones. I used in bitwig this morning and they don't lag or cause spikes. Used them in Maschine last night and ran smoothly. In reason, when you cha...

Re: Ochen K appreciation
Smiled when I seen this thread. I love Glitch. Use it all the time, thought for a while it must be too simple compared to expensive vsts etc, but with combinators and automation it can be as elaborate as you want. I find myself using on most of my work. usually not needing to add anything to it, jus...

ToneBoosters Performance In R10
Hello, I picked up the toneboosters bundles (Bus and Mix) after reading really good reviews. The plug ins are good but I am running into issues with there performance in R10. Wondering what other peoples experiences are? I don't have my laptop specs just now, but it is a modern, cutom build by 3xs a...

Re: What are your thoughts on the relevence of NI Battery these days
Good points Hurricane and QVprod. I posted in haste, before opening and playing with it for a while. I do rate battery, i have lots of experience with the NI FX and its awesome they are there under the hood. Your right that running battery and using the midi view is adequate, and the quality of soun...

Re: What are your thoughts on the relevence of NI Battery these days
Yea, Ive been mucking about with it and made a track since posting. I used it for kick and hats, thought it was obviously cool with all the parameters and included eqs, compressors etc, workflow is cool. But after getting my initial drums down with it and then making a baseline with monark (im revis...

What are your thoughts on the relevence of NI Battery these days
Hello, Ive had Komplete 10 for a while and always thought Battery looked cool. Have read numerous people talk about how its the best drum vst ever - but ive never been able to really get into it. I honestly find myself reaching for the Redrum time and time again. Im gonna have a mess around with Bat...

Re: Buy Trash2 or use DIY rack extension combos?
I don't see a "vs" between DIY and Trash2. They work well together and add to each other. Trash2 in general has cool features and good quality. But somehow its workflow and tiny GUI prevents me from using it more often. I payed only 29 and thats a acceptable price for me. A few weeks ago it was on ...

Buy Trash2 or use DIY rack extension combos?
Hello, Ive fancied Trash 2 for a while. Its in a bundle just now and im thinking about buying it. Im going to demo it just now. Re: Setting "Rec Source" from sequencer
I thought as the rec source button is on the mixer channel in the rack, even if you had multiple midi channels for one source, you sould be setting the rec source at the channel level just before it goes to SSL
