Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...

Bandwidth and server capacity still cost money, and you still aren’t gonna want to pay more than you have to. Everything is compressed data, not just audio. Consumers don’t care enough about the differences to want to deal with either a higher price, or a reduction in choice. So, instead of agreein...

Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...

Which reminds me, doesn't it just kinda suck in general that we have to worry about such stupid things? Everything should just upload best quality with clouds being so large and relatively cheap (grrrrrrrrr) Bandwidth and server capacity still cost money, and you still aren’t gonna want to pay more...

Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...

You left out the feature that's more commonly requested and more important to the largest number of users than all of this stuff put together except, arguably, hi-res/scaling gui - MIDI VST OUT. I personally won't be buying any paid update that doesn't fix this. The fact that they still don't suppo...

Re: Will there be a 10.5?

I'll probably hold off til 12 then. I don't appreciate the update just being it working as it was supposed to. You do what you like. The update was not a bug fix, as the audio engine in 10.2 and every version before it was working as intended. There were valid reasons it worked as it did, it is jus...

Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...

Matthias and the team have taken care of all of my main gripes at this point. I used to have a love/hate relationship with Reason, and now I have dropped almost all of the hate. The only things left for me are ability to fold/hide groups, and some things that would be nice to have, but not essential...

Re: Reason 10.3 public beta is open!

Yes, correct, and thank you. However my very simplistic post, and your more technically correct post both outline the same thing to our fixated on the DSP bar friend, which is that the bar is affected by other processes that are running on the machine, which is the main point.

Re: Reason 10.3 public beta is open!

Iirc the reason dsp bar shows just simply how much the cpu is being used by all applications running on your system, not just the processes used by Reason. Thus, if you have a lot of miscellaneous system utilities running, the bar might not be too different, until you put a heavy load on it.

Re: GRAIN (VST)! Do you want it?

I would like Grain (and Thor, Malstrom, Dr.OctoRex) as VST's.

I would LOVE to use the whole reason Rack as a VST, as one unit.

a virtual mouse. A really really BIG mouse! I've just had a horrible vision of the future where we all operate virtual keyboards, mice and monitors on a virtual PC/MAC inside a VR program because our real PC/MAC is just a box with nothing connected. And they'll call it progress. You are aware that ...

Re: Reason 10.3 public beta is open!

Presumably the non-VST improvements will be mostly limited to those RE's that also have issues dealing with the current buffer limitation. I wouldn't expect stock reason devices or processes to improve, since they were already programmed with the buffer size in mind.

Re: Hydlides rant about performance

what I’m wondering is if PH can even DO something like calling VSTs at the buffer size while still calling internal instruments at 64 samples. I’m not proficient enough with coding to know if running VSTs at some multiple of 64 samples (like your example of 256) would be possible while maintaining ...

Re: Mixing db Levels

The workaround would be to create automation lanes for the desired faders and adjust their static levels from the sequencer where you can type values. Which DOES work, but is often limited in resolution. They mostly seem to go between 0-127, which means we have 8-bit VCAs on out “analog” master fad...

Re: Are You Serious?!

LPX is an excellent DAW, and if you already have a mac its a no brainer. It is not perfect though, not by a mile. Plenty of features are surpassed in other daws, or missing entirely in logic (clip launcher, chord track, etc...). And of course the big one is that it requires overpriced hardware to ru...

Re: Syncing Favorites between Reason 10 on Mac and PC?

Short answer: nope. Favorites are just directory links, and since OSX and windows have different file structures, they can't be the same, The 2 operating systems also use different file systems, and the hard drives are formatted differently, which also does not help. Maybe someday if reason goes ful...

Re: Reason 10 Features

Hardware sends can be accomplished with some back of the panel wiring, possibly you could do the same with the separate headphone mixes. I think there is a video one here somewhere showing some method of achieving auto punch in/out. Basically yes, you can do these things, but it is def not super eas...

Re: For those who create in Reason and mix in another DAW: what's your workflow?

I would never, ever want to preserve fader and pan settings when mixing in another DAW. I wouldn't want a quiet track bounced quiet, that I would have to have at unity gain in the new mixer just to preserve its level. I don't know how you do it but my files are -12 max I turn my monitors or headpho...

I would never, ever want to preserve fader and pan settings when mixing in another DAW. I wouldn't want a quiet track bounced quiet, that I would have to have at unity gain in the new mixer just to preserve its level. In analog mixing days that was asking for huge snr problems. Same with panning. Do...

Re: For those who create in Reason and mix in another DAW: what's your workflow?

My own workflow is generally just to bounce all of the stems, dry, except for perhaps some creative effects or guitar amp sims if used. I do sometimes bounce the effects sends, but I can't remember actually using them. I would then recreate all the sends etc... in the other DAW (cubase, for me). I d...

Re: David Gilmours sweet guitar

A strat on the neck pickup, into a clean but really loud tube amplifier on the verge of distortion, with a hint of phasing, and some delay, amp should be loud enough so that there is a bit of natural feedback creeping into the tone. Its really hard to simulate the playing and sound with a vi unless ...

Omnisphere and Kontakt in Reason. Europa in Logic. These are strange times. Question about the web version of Europa? What's the point of having a web version? What's the use of a synth that isn't within a DAW? I must be missing something here. As mr. Panda said: a zero effort demo, but also it's a...
