Re: Are you upgrading to Reason 13?
Pretty sure I’ve decided against it now. Unless some other juicy feature comes mid cycle. If something like Objekt was a native device id probably upgrade (I know it will never be included-and that’s a good thing), but I think I’m good for now. Those of us who upgraded right away were rewarded with...

Malstrom is HIGHLY underrated. I came back to R8.x just for Malstrom, after not using Reason much after R6.5.

Re: Any way to organize effects in the Add Device menu in the rack?
I was just wondering about this really simple thing for which I found no solution. Is there any way to organize effects in the Add Device menu of the Rack? By default effects are organized by manufacturer, and I would really like organize them according to type. You know, reverbs in one sub menu fo...

Re: Are you upgrading to Reason 13?
Already updated to R13. I don't want to be being the curve on Reason ever again, unless there's some seriously drastic reason to skip a release (like I did with R11, the only update I've not done since skipping R7). I'm not sold on the new browser yet, and am eagerly awaiting R13.1 or whatever updat...

Re: News from Noise Engineering: free REs, new/updated REs
Bumping for anyone who might attend Knobcon in the Chicago area this September, from Friday the 6th to Sunday the 8th. Noise Engineering will have a booth at the convention, and right next door to them, I’ll have my booth set up for my shop, Madisynths (link in signature). I rep Eurorack & MU module...

Re: Best way to send CV/Gate to my hardware synths through Reason?
Robotic Bean CV-I/CV-O combo is a highly useful package to have, but ultimately you're going to need the Silent Way VST suite. I'm not sure how much it costs if you don't have any Expert Sleepers hardware to unlock it, but I believe a few of the VST's in the suite are usable without paying and/or ha...

Re: Rebirth Emulation
Rebirth can do something that no other 303 emulation to date can do, a "silent slide" that sounds amazing. Normally on ABL3, Phoscyon, or a real TB-303/RE-303, if you start a slide on a note that also doesn't have a gate associated with it (ie the note is a rest), then nothing happens. On Rebirth, t...

Made the jump to Ventura. So far so good. Audio drivers were already up to date and ready to go, and Reason fired up just fine.

Re: Coaxial spdif input
Any clue as to what my options are for adding a coaxial digital spdif input to my workstation pc are? Cheap usb dongle? Ancient sound card with windows 11 drivers? Do you have an ADAT input you're not using? That seems to be standard on a lot of interfaces these days. If so, get a Midiman/M-Audio C...

Working better than ever! It's massive overkill, but I have a iConnectivity mioXL connected to my machine, which I only use for MIDI input... I have the MIDI out's of several synths connected to it, plus several USB devices (2x Keysteps, Arturia Minilab mk2, RME ARC USB, and an X-Touch. I only got t...

So whatever happened to the idea that RS floated a few years ago, about being able to run RE's in some sort of hardware platform? Did that idea die?

Back when it was all clinical grey Doepfer stuff I used to think Eurorack was really cool and sophisticated. These days it looks like expensive candy for man-babies. Lol Black face modules are pretty sexy too. Some of the white & multi-colored stuff... not so much. Disclosure: I sell black faced Eu...

M1 Mac: Jump from Monterey to Ventura, or is Sonoma safe yet?
I'm on a 2022 M1 Mac Studio, running Monterey just fine (and just recently updated the last key plugin that wasn't Apple Silicon native). My connected hardware already had updated to the latest drivers, so hardware compatibility is a total non-issue. I have a MacBook Pro that I've left as a legacy m...

There’s nothing new to implement, but there may be some bugs left to squash. I’m just guessing there are still some VST3 issues to sort out.

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
Selig Gain does this, but as others have pointed out it’s overkill for that (even though I use it for that all the time). I had long ago assumed RS would add CV tools such as a VCA and simple mixer for CV, so never thought much more about it. I’m happy to draw up a panel if someone else can code it...

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
Oh, a mono button, got it. I’ve never missed this on the line mixer or 14:2 mixer, but it’s easy enough to add (with the knowledge you’ll give up space for a different function, so there’s a possible trade off there). TBH, I don’t care about a mono button. If I really want a mono signal, I’ll unplu...

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
I tried to find out what this feature does, to no avail - can you explain it? “Interleave” in the context of stereo is a file format where the two channels of a stereo file appear as one (interleaved). This can’t be what you’re explaining here, right? It's just what it's called in Cakewalk. It's a ...

Re: Totally missed AU support. Does it need to be enabled?
Now the confusion makes sense. That's understandable. Well that wouldn't make sense either because the RRP is also available in the AAX format. That chart is just wrong any way you look at it lol The way Reason Studios wrote the press release for it for R11, it sure sounded like they had added AU s...
