Re: New DX7 emulation in the shop, a PX-7 alternative
Just found this one last night (I used to be on-top of things shop-wise a couple of years ago but not much now, eh) From what I can see it looks to be the same developer that made the PX7. Just because it closely resembles PX7 doesn't mean it is the same developer. I wonder what changed that allowed...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+
After checking out the service, I have no strong feelings about it- except that it isn't meant for license holders, but we all knew that from the beginning. I think the sound packs are cool, essentially being presets that you can use as starting points, but nowhere near $20/month good. Interestingl...

Re: Behringer Swing
They come up with this idea in 2003 of respectfully "stealing" other companies products, without permission, and selling their exact copies to make money. Propellerhead ReBirth comes to mind ;) Making (or trying to make) a digital emulation of an hardware product shows more talent than duplicating ...

Re: Behringer Swing
btw, for those not understanding my position here: I'm just sad Behringer lost the opportunity to use their bright engineers to come up with something new/better. Behringer disapointed me both technically and morally (more than they usually do). They're just saying "sorry, our R&D is weak". That's j...

Re: Behringer Swing
Arturia might not be the biggest innovators either. I mean, you can say they've certainly gone about things ethically by officially partnering with companies to make branded soft synth emulations, but for the longest time, that's been their primary focus—emulating and copying. Legally speaking howe...

Re: Behringer Swing
It's just sad and disappointing. It's as if they couldn't do better. That's (to me) the issue. They're showing to the world, a brand new product that... already existed. What a waste of opportunity to make something better, from a company with enough resources to do so. did you read Behringer’s res...

Re: Behringer Swing
Meanwhile Korg and Moog are having entire synths with hundreds of parameters copied, and they seem to be less vocal...or I've missed it. Maybe they have sought legal action, but stayed quiet publicly? Again not saying Arturia is wrong for speaking out, it's just interesting the different approaches...

it really comes down to people who want to feel righteous indignation being rightfully indignant—with a whole lot of selective attention on display. It's just sad and disappointing. Re: Behringer Swing
I read somewhere that Behringer licensed Swing from the same people that Arturia licensed from... Not sure if that is correct though... Might be smart for Behringer to come out with an official statement rather sooner than later... Here's what the industrial designer Axel Hartmann had to say about ...

Re: Behringer Swing
let's face it, plastic MIDI controllers The KeyStep line isn't just "a MIDI controller". There are way cheaper alternatives if all you want/need is a plastic MIDI controller. Behringer cloned it because KeySteps were becoming ubiquitous on many euro-rack or desktop modules sets, which they sell, so...

Re: Cherry Audio - DCO-106 Polyphonic Synth VST
So, to sum up this thread, could we say 1. The Cherry Audio one is cheaper than the TAL 2. The Cherry Audio one eats CPU. 3. The TAL is uckingf magic and blows the Cherry Audio one right out of the water. Or have I misunderstood? The DCO-106 isn't as bright (highend spectrum-wise) as a real Juno. I...

The 1-to-5 questions were weird, I agree.
Done.
Couldn't help to suggest my long time wishes for Reason so... nothing new from me
(wasn't aware there was a discount to win... I need to start reading stuff to the end )

I'm feeling lucky... Re: All my REs have disappeared.
That's why keeping your old hardware is a good thing, if you can afford it.  until it breaks too and then you have to physically take it to the repair (unless UPS does it for you) and wait for it to come back and pay for the repair  (unless you own a Novation and the s...

Re: No more NDA!
But since Reason now supports VST, I don't know of any dev that would put the time and resources into an RE now except for indie-devs that just love working in Reason. Enthusiasts and Devs that believe/like the CV and multi-audio I/O rack concepts... and easier Remote visual feedback and mapping :)

Oki, reading and reading. Already found some interesting things concerning me an my Remote/StepSequencer mania. Re: No more NDA!
I'm also wondering about the use of the word amend. Does it mean that devs can now change the SDK itself, and someday bypass so many of its limitations? This could be huge. Unless something changed in the SDK documentation (which I need to re-read in this new context), you may see that they (Reason...

can you tell me what is the data you have for: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.repatch ? Also, I remember seeing some "auto-repatch-" thing somewhere in reg too but i now I cant remember if i deleted or changed it to the Reason.repatch (since i saw that everything else that was working had started w/ "Reason.")...
