Re: Creating a note repeater with Reason's Players
Not a stock player but I think https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack ... sequencer/ has a chord mode and does what you want. The advantage over Dual Arp is that it is not restricted to any note count of a chord.

Re: Reason Studios shares their roadmap
Every time a metric like anything above has been tried, it did not go down well. You'd have to actually spend a few years writing code to understand why they're such poor measures of productivity. As a side note - there is a really helpful metric found by Sonar, it is called Cognitive Complexity. W...

Re: Reason Studios shares their roadmap
Where are you getting the figure of 2GB from? Reason is actually just a meager 43MB program. I'm not the OP, but I'm seeing the following file sizes: Reason 8 177mb Reason 9 268mb Reason 10 384mb Reason 11 396mb Reason 12 77mb (?) I'm not seeing either 44mb or 2GB as a file size for any version of ...

Re: Midi Controller Support via Remote
Hi Folks, I wondered if anyone knew the last time Reasonstudios updated the list of Remote Map files supplied with Reason? Most DAW users don't have to worry that the controller they buy will function adequately for their chosen DAW, but I'm concerned this is not the case for us Reason users. I'm s...

Re: Recording MIDI from Redrum into Sequencer
You actually can not AFAIK, maybe I´m wrong - at least not so easy since Redrum does not create any MIDI data while running. But we have Gate CV outs which can be used. Now comes the MIDI loopback trick that basically solves every problem in Reason ;-) You could connect the CV gate out to the MIDI ...

Re: how to play a combinator
anybody? Another way to record audio from combinator: If there is a mix channel attached to the combinator (which is typically in Reason Standalone when you drag a combinator to the Rack) you can click a button called Record Source in the Mix channel. Then you create an audio channel device and sel...

Re: Recording midi to multiple tracks simultaneously?
True. And MIDI loopback is a hack. So what we are missing here is a kind of routing menu in the player stack or on the MIDI track where you can target the MIDI track where you want to send the player MIDI data to. Or a special player device that does this (similar to the MIDI output device). Someth...

Re: Recording midi to multiple tracks simultaneously?
Am I missing something here? I have two MIDI keyboards and I can record MIDI notes on two tracks simultaneously. You have to lock each keyboard to a synth (say Thor and Europa) and then hit record. Playing both at the same time records both. There can be only one active MIDI track but you circumvent...

Re: mDSQ - Micro Drum Sequencer - is in the shop!
Pattern change in Redrum and Matrix is synced to the next bar. This is what none of the pattern player devices do, including the RS ones. Ah! that is interesting, I never knew that.. it behaves differently when live then when using the Pattern Lane Automation. That might might be an easy optional f...

Re: mDSQ - Micro Drum Sequencer - is in the shop!
This might be off topic but ever since I'm using Reason Rack in Ableton Live I wished there was a way to switch patterns with keyboard notes instead of automation. Not sure why as far as I know none of the sequencers with patterns work like that.. The automation works amazing inside of Reason as a ...

Re: mDSQ - Micro Drum Sequencer - is in the shop!
Finally there is still no way to match how Redrum handles pattern changes relative to the sequencer. That's on RS/PH though as they still haven't figured out a solution for this in their own devices. Can you elaborate on this ? I can't think of what more could be added for pattern changes... Patter...

Step Velocity is remotable and you if you click on a step and then drag up/down while holding CTRL (Windows) you can decrease/increase the velocity of a step.RandomNoise wrote: ↑02 Nov 2021Super cool! Are there any keyboard shortcuts for the different velocity levels?

Re: mDSQ - Micro Drum Sequencer - is in the shop!
You´ll notice that the individual steps of a part are neither remotable, automatable nor assignable in combinator programmer. And you can only have one note per part. Well, it´s a drum sequencer :-) However, you can also use it as a 16 step note sequencer e. g. in C2. The trick is to use one consecu...

Re: Where is the October update?
Agile does have a place. But it needs to work alongside very clear goals (features and budget set by management), and very clear deadlines (often set by marketing/sales). The problem is that even when it is failing as a process, when standards aren't being met; when the lack of quality is perhaps e...

Re: Controlling SSL Mixer send FX levels with CV
Hi all, Is there any way to route CV to the SSL mixer channel send FX level? What I would like to do is make an LFO control the level of a channel send FX level (a send delay for example) rather than manually drawing automation to change the FX send level over time. I realise I could just make an i...

Re: Is it possible to map single keys on my keyboard to mute/solo tracks in the Drum Sequencer?
There is a new mapping source property in combinator 2 programmer which you can use to map a key to a control (e. g. Mute or Solo on Drum Sequencer) on a device inside combinator. It is called "Key". Precondition is that you have a MIDI track for the combinator so your keyboard controller passes MID...

Pretty buggy software that Ableton if you ask me. I haven't seen this shared on the forum yet, it's an update from the CTO: https://www.reasonstudios.com/blog/enabling-music-making She talks about the core underlying technology and standardisation, I think this is nice update. If I were CTO I would focus (after the R12 bugfixes mind) on making Rea...

Working at 125bpm is the opposite of inspiring for me. I'm resenting the stuff I'm writing instead of loving it. Not throwing in the towel just yet, but that's definitely low moral. Maybe you can trick your brain by setting the tempo to 62.5 BPM but enter just notes with double timing, e. g. 32th n...

Re: What's missing? A RE that can help with creating combi2 patches?
One device that might be really helpful to build step sequencer combinators would be a step sequencer with at least 16 steps where each of the steps has at least 4 property values controlling 4 CV outs (Gate, Note, CV1, CV2) that are assignable with combinator programmer. Just like Thor but Thor doe...

Yes, Win10 with an Intel Graphics UHD 630 here, it may be related the CPU or GPU 0 3D which is around 30 % all the time in a project with quite a few devices.
GPU decreases if song is not playing, though.

Re: What's happened to us (/them)? ... (10 years after discovering RE trademark and patent)
On the +-Side, migration to HD worked astonishly well for all REs. Sure, some RE devs had to fix smaller things and there were some things that had to be fixed by RS themselves but overall the foresight worked out.
