New official RS developer forums, with new hosting on ZenDesk.
All threads should be preserved, but unfortunately no images (the old forums didn't have good support for images anyway). The order should be the same, but the comment creation dates could not be preserved. Find them under the community link under Learning and Support on the developer pages: https:/...

Re: Jukebox SDK 4.4 released
Sorry for the regression in re-cmake due to changed path for RE2DRender executable binary. We used the bdist_mac mode in cxFreeze to produce an app, but it was broken for arm64 python as we were making the tools universal2. The simpler build_exe mode solved this, and also harmonizes with how it is o...

It looks like we can remove the track limit in an update not too long from now.

@brate8981: Thanks for that feedback - I will forward it. I had forgotten, and am a bit surprised that this limitation appeared at some point.
Do you know the exact version where the track limit appeared?

Re: Anyone still have the SDK 2.5.0 installer?
Just curious here. Why would you like to test-run with older versions of Reason Recon? When you build on the servers, you have to use a current SDK anyway, which means the device requires Reason 10.1 or later. The RE hosting pretty much guarantees the device will work the same in Reason 10.1 and the...

Re: Get started build Error
@bansky0: You are not supposed to need admin mode for anything. That can make the resulting files have weird permissions, and cause other problems. The error message in your earlier post has nothing to do with permissions. The issue is just that the command prompt you started was for 32 bit executab...

Re: PNG Max Size limitation
@turn2on: 1. Apps have different limitations for image size. The width/height limitation of the PNG format itself is in theory two billion pixels. The limit you found at 32768 could be the limit in some image subsystem of macOS or something. Could be based on the max GPU driver texture size limit, a...

Re: Newbie Tutorial Error Question
@Mattvank: The Visual Studio project files are not set up for launching. When you try to launch, it just ends up invoking the plugin DLL, which can't be run on its own. You have successfully built the project, so the device should show up in Reason Recon. If you want to make the project launch from ...

Re: Get started build Error
@bansky0: That one is a classic. You need to make sure you run the script from a command prompt with environment targeting Windows x64 architecture. This is usually done by starting a command prompt from a specific shortcut installed with Visual Studio / MSBuild Desktop Tools, called e.g. "x64 Nativ...

Re: PNG Max Size limitation
@jam-s: That doesn't really make sense. The tool that creates the "old assets" from the original resolution, uses exactly the same image scaling algorithm as Reason. So the images should be identical. If you have a concrete example of where there is a noticeable difference, I would be interested in ...

Re: PNG Max Size limitation
Which part of the chain has a size limitation on PNG images? Technically, the format has a very high limit on the dimensions, but I may be forgetting some limit in some tool or the hosting. It's all PNG because it's lossless and packed reasonably compact. Indeed it can usually be optimized, by remov...

Reason Recon updated to 12.6.1d23, arm64 on macOS support
See dev forum post: https://www.reasonstudios.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212261 Reason Recon 12.6.1d23 was just published to the RESDK4 auto-update channel. Just start Reason Recon and accept the auto-update to get it. It replaces the last published update, which was 12.2.10d28. Built from the same ...

Re: Reason 12.6 Released (Apple Silicon, Offline Mode)
As for Reason, all assets are now in high-res for Reason 12, but Reason has to ping the server and download said assets at least once. If you want to prompt Reason to do it all over again, then delete the high-res assets in the Graphics Cache content folder when Reason isn't running, and then start...

Re: "libmp3lame.dll is not found"
You could try to copy libmp3lame-0.dll to libmp3lame.dll as it might be the correct dll but with a still wrong file name from a failed installation attempt (due to Windows crappy file system locking mechanism). The two similar DLLs are not the same, I can't recommend trying to fix things by fiddlin...

Re: "libmp3lame.dll is not found"
It sounds like a bit of confusion here. I can help with a few facts. libmp3lame.dll comes with the Reason 12.6 installer for Windows. In earlier versions of Reason (I think it was before 12.5), the file was called libmp3lame-0.dll. You don't need to look for any file on the internet, and you can not...

Re: Propellerhead Balance & OS HighSierra
@stevan: That could be that it wants a little more power than the iMac is feeding to the USB port. In that case it can be solved using a powered hub, but there is usually some port that always works.
