I've been messing with it tonight – there are a lot of 80s patches. Tons of choirs and pan flutes...my God, so many pan flutes... :) I love the string sounds as well, very lush and full. This Vecto is really fitting the films score type sound at the moment. I'm curious to check out the other patches.

Maybe it's just me but I've always found the Rob Papen synths to sound a little like the 80's. In a good way. He adds a nice twist to them.CephaloPod wrote:I'm hearing a lot of 80's type sounds. That's either a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on what you're after.

Rob Papen´s Vecto Instrument is in the Shop
I'm going to get a coffee first then straight home to test this baby out. Seeing I'll be spending a few hours with it. It was really nice to get that 30% off. Rob could of just sold it for full price. But he's cool like that and I love him for it.
Long live the Vecto!

Quantize issues within Reason
Has anyone noticed any issues in regards to quantizing in Reason. I've always noticed problems. E.g. I have my auto quantize set at 1/16 I record some midi. One of the bars doesn't quantize properly. No prob I change my main quantize setting to bar and hit quantize. The note doesn't move! just s...

What are your favorite keys and pads to use right now
I think I have a bunch of the Exode freebies. At least a couple but I really want his refills for Antidote and Parsec. I might just have to purchase those soon. Navi Ratlev is another that I need refills off. Any comment on the quality of his? I primarily use Soundcells, Nuclues Soundlab, Tom Pritch...

Thanks I just downloaded the XSynth patches. Its always nice to have more. And looking forward to checking them out.
I just got the Pathenon recently from Nucleus Soundlab. Very nice refill. It was on sale for 15.. not sure it still is but worth the money.

Great idea. By chain you mean in a Combinator or seperate tracks?JNeffLind wrote:I just set up multiple instances of synchronous in a chain and automate the bypass buttons so that they switch on in succession.

Syncronous automation
Whats the best way to go about automating Syncronous? I know the wav forms can't be automated but it would be nice to have them changing bar to bar. I know the parameters knobs can be automated so that is something. I guess the best way is just to make copies of the tracks and adjust each wav line a...

Waiting for more Re's.

I hadn't heard of bitley or bitlord before. I just checked their sites and it looks like amazing stuff. Can you recommend a refill in piticular you think would be really good to get. It all looks good but need to be a little conservative spending wise. I love a lot of ambient stuff.. Arps..pads..ch...

What are your favorite keys and pads to use right now
No favorites, just what I think is a solid arsenal of good sounds. Most of my sounds are for NN-XT. Soundcells, Bitley, Bitword and the FSB as main resources. This is something I got into when my computer was very *meh* and I couldn't go crazy with DSP heavier stuff and I kept it, even with a newer...

Trying out Discover?
So I thought I'd try out Discover and see what all the hype is about. I went over to the page. Apparently it's hip-hop week which is fine, I can dig hip hop. I downloaded the sample, if that's what you want to call it. I'm to "open this and build on this" Ok I'm excited. Kinda. So I opened it. G...

What are your favorite keys and pads to use right now
Currently I'm finding myself playing a lot of the Antidote default keys, some beautiful patches. And going to the Rob Pritchard VAST and other refills for the thicker pads. Does anyone know if he's still making Refills or working on anything? His sound is next to none. What are you guys doing? I'v...

Going over board on purchases
But I think RE's are intrinsically superior. Yes, only for Reason users. But isn't this the point? Of course RE's are superior for us Reason users because there is simply no alternative but no that was not the point. RE in Reason is better than VST in Reason could ever be. We don't know and we will...

Going over board on purchases
/ A part of me feels like we're seeing the end of the road of RE's & possibly Propellerhead. I hope I'm wrong of course but it feels like its being going south for a while now. If RE's have a future it will be with Indie developers like OchenK. There won't be any big names except maybe SoftTube. I ...

Going over board on purchases
I don't know about all that. I'm pretty sure all the Re's we have now will always work with future versions of reason. Their all designed for reason 8 as it is and props will always incorporate them. Or else it would be really bad for business. More Re's get updated on a regular basis or the good on...

Nail in the coffin, I think I'm going to buy the Mc DSP set today. Just gotta. Go big or go home haha. The Gq7 is nice and has a lot of features but I wish the knobs were bigger but I guess it's all about tweaking with the graphic display. The Bit Krush I'm not crazy about, just not my type of sound...

Going over board on purchases
Well I did it. The thing I told myself I wouldn't do under any circumstances. Go over board on buying Re's I don't really need. The magic of the May sale sucked me in and all the eye and ear candy got a hold of my senses and my wallet. I've been very conservative buying Re's since the beginning. Bes...

The Big meter Vu, PPM and Peak
I thought the older versions did as well but 8 does for sure. The wholly concept of using a maximizer is still a little new to me as I just purchased the ozone recently. But when I use it I will have it completely bypassed until the very end I beoieve. We shall see. The beauty of making music is the...

The Big meter Vu, PPM and Peak
Yes indeed the PPM has a slower release I'm not sure what the difference is other then that. Wouldn't plus 6 on the Vu scale involve a lot of clipping? unless your using a maximizer. As I understand it want your master around -4 as an optimal level or slightly louder but not over 0. Vu and Peak so...
