Five minutes with it and i already have a nice chord progression I wouldn't have thought of. I don't always like the next suggestion/inversion, but find that if I also have a normal piano open, I can find the missing chord that makes it zing. This is the creative unblocker I've been looking for.

Also I assume it can be used in tandem with an arpeggiator? Though I suppose if you can move the chord sequence in the main Reason window, you can do it that way.

I always spend ages auditioning Regroove (and booster) presets on midi drums. Finding just the right feel can make all the difference.

The bug where certain VST effects don't fill the window when the re-scale checkbox is ticked is still there. I'm still having to peer at a tiny Izotope Neutron 3. Either that or guess where the controls are supposed to be in the blank space where the GUI should be.

I haven't had much time to explore the new combinator in R12. I mainly use it to split and layer keys.

Previously you had to create a separate mixer within the combi, but now there's one hard wired. But where are controls to actually adjust the mixer levels, etc?

Actually what i thought was a screenshot, turns out to be editable - only you have to click on roughly the place in the blank space where that control would be if the VST were filling the window properly. I got R12 as a free upgrade. If I'd paid £200 for it (or whatever they're gouging us for it now) I'd be very annoyed indeed.

I entirely agree with your premise that Reason 8 was where the rot set in. It was the first update where I thought "Is that it?". That became the norm rather than the exception in the following years, with only the introduction of VSTs being a showstopper (but that was half-arsed). Now they want 50%...

Having spent all night working on a guitar part, only to have Reason 12 crash on me and lose everything, I want to roll back. Trouble is, I deleted the Reason 11 installation files from my PC. My account only appears to give me the option of downloading 12. Is 11 still downloadable somewhere?

When I open up the RRP in Cubase Pro 11, I'm only seeing half the window and it doesn't appear to allow me to re-size. This appears to be consistent with the other problems I'm having with tiny VSTs in Reason. This high -res seems to cause more problems than it solves.
