Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129

Any company that announces a 50% price increase had better have a damn good reason (cough). Otherwise that's just gouging. But I'm going to do what I did for the last couple of underwhelming upgrades: ask myself if there are £199 worth of changes (probably not) and then wait till it might become wor...

I'm probably being dense, but where do you find this favourites list? I've put the file in the AppData folder.

How to re-size the window for Reason 12 RRP in Cubase 11

When I open up the RRP in Cubase Pro 11, I'm only seeing half the window and it doesn't appear to allow me to re-size. This appears to be consistent with the other problems I'm having with tiny VSTs in Reason. This high -res seems to cause more problems than it solves.

To answer my own question, I got round it by installing Reason on another computer and copying the RRP over.

damn, that sucks. cards are super expensive these days.
Only if you want a top of the range gaming card. You can buy a very useable new card for well below 100.

Can we have both? To be honest, I can wait for VST3 as I'd only have to re-install all the current VST2s.

Can you install the RRP on its own after a full Reason installation?

I've already installed Reason 12 away from my C drive, but left out the RRP last time. Is there a way to just install that without having to remove and re-install the whole program?. Slightly worried that I'm going to lose all my settings and snapshots if I do. I tried running the install program, b...

Basically, what Reason 12 was intended to be might finally be there by January. Oh well, what's five months when you've waited this long?

Re: How would you rate the R12 upgrade? (Upgraders and R+ subscribers only)

. Ummm, Reason 11 was all about the sequencer...? Reason 11 was all about the RRP. At that point, Reason was my main DAW so it was little use to me. There just wasn't £125 worth of updates. Minor improvements are a point release, not a full blown update. I finally bought it when they threw in 12 a ...

Re: How would you rate the R12 upgrade? (Upgraders and R+ subscribers only)

The sequencer has had no attention at all for two upgrades now. Meanwhile all the other DAWs disappear into the distance. Think it’s time to jump back to Cubase. They practically told us to use another DAW with the Reason Rack Plug-in.

Tiny VSTs since Reason 12

Some - like Waves 12 - purport to be scaleable when not all of them seem to have that option. So now I'm peering at a plug-in that's about two inches in size. What's the solution?

Can I control two softsynths on two keyboards separately live?

I've got a Behringer Deepmind 12 and also Omnisphere. The latter allows me to use the former as a hardware controller for its epic range of sounds. I also use Reason sounds in a live setting with just a standard midi keyboard. Can I use both together with separate keyboards in a live performance and...

Re: RME HDSPe AIO Pro PCIe card

An update on this card, in case anybody is interested. I ran into a physical problem in that the d-sub socket on the back of the card for the analogue cable was too close to my PC case, so the cable wouldn't fit onto it. RME support couldn't help and I considered returning it. However, I decided to ...

A simple one - can notes in the note editor be labelled with what note it is (e.g. A4)? It would save me peering at the little piano keys to see which one it is.

Re: RME HDSPe AIO Pro PCIe card

I might hang on to the Tascam it’s replacing just for the day-to-day Windows stuff. I’ll see how it goes.

I used an old PCI M-Audio Delta for years and I noticed a performance hit when I bowed to progress and went USB. A sound card does seem a bit old school, but sometimes the old ways are the best.

Ah, sorry, I never met those (dsub?) connectors before, seems like they are actually analog.
They're both. You get whatever suits your needs to go with it. In my case, just analogue balanced XLR breakout cables will do.

Re: RME HDSPe AIO Pro PCIe card

Well, in this case, I've heard so much about how RME outshines all mid-range interfaces - arguably even the likes of UAD. Plus they make the best drivers in the business - latency is negligible.

I bought it through a friend's company, so didn't have to pay the VAT. Still £457 though.

RME HDSPe AIO Pro PCIe card

After spending weeks researching and agonising over which audio interface to buy, I've just splashed a serious amount of cash on one of these. It hasn't arrived yet, but I already have buyer's remorse. Make me feel better about it.
