When I open up the RRP in Cubase Pro 11, I'm only seeing half the window and it doesn't appear to allow me to re-size. This appears to be consistent with the other problems I'm having with tiny VSTs in Reason. This high -res seems to cause more problems than it solves.

To answer my own question, I got round it by installing Reason on another computer and copying the RRP over.

Only if you want a top of the range gaming card. You can buy a very useable new card for well below 100.

The sequencer has had no attention at all for two upgrades now. Meanwhile all the other DAWs disappear into the distance. Think it’s time to jump back to Cubase. They practically told us to use another DAW with the Reason Rack Plug-in.

I still use the ignition key on my desktop and the offline authorisation on my laptop. If the former is dead, then I want another one of the latter.

I used an old PCI M-Audio Delta for years and I noticed a performance hit when I bowed to progress and went USB. A sound card does seem a bit old school, but sometimes the old ways are the best.

They're both. You get whatever suits your needs to go with it. In my case, just analogue balanced XLR breakout cables will do.

Well, in this case, I've heard so much about how RME outshines all mid-range interfaces - arguably even the likes of UAD. Plus they make the best drivers in the business - latency is negligible.

I bought it through a friend's company, so didn't have to pay the VAT. Still £457 though.

After spending weeks researching and agonising over which audio interface to buy, I've just splashed a serious amount of cash on one of these. It hasn't arrived yet, but I already have buyer's remorse. Make me feel better about it.
