Prop Shop's May Madness Sale!
While I'm at it, a few Q's for anyone who uses the A-list Electric Guitarist. Is it viable to run it via the clean channel to other amp sims and distortion units? Or will it sound crap? Also, anyone know if there's a list of what actual guitars, guitar PU's etc where used when recording?

Just realized what I think I'll do. I'll trial the EVE MP5 (pultec) and also trial the softube pultech, and compare the two, if the EVE MP5 gives a good impression, I think I might go for that one, I already got the McDSP comp bundle, so those three comps + the EVE MP5 could be a pretty sweet setup.

PX7 is good cpu wise AFAIK, also Thor can do quite a bit of FM as well, 3 FM pairs is pretty much a 6 OP FM Synth, and you can do custom routings as well using the programming/matrix section (as well as the ability to use whatever waveforms you want out of very many, etc, and realize why you probab...

Already have all three rigs... I guess you never really know when something gets dumped even lower, they where already ultra high value. Don't know if I will be going crazy on this, maybe RPDistort, maybe FM4, already got PX7 though. Will be trialing. Would be cool to get RP Quad, but my trail is al...

Try to compare this with doing the same thing within thor. When you do FM in most FM synths, its actually phase modulation. In Thor you can choose between modulating pitch or phase of the oscillator and it sounds quite different there as well.

I would love an easy converter from Megadrive to PX7 or FM4, i know how to do it the grunt work way, it includes using some windows application to convert megadrive song file patches to DX7 sysex, which then can be converted to PX7 via the online patch converter.

Definitely, I have quite a few distortion units so I guess I'll play around And yeah, that "Breather" patch on synchronous is pretty damn awesome, still haven't figured out exactly how it does it but is sure does sound awesome.joeyluck wrote: Hope that helps!

I'm a pitchbend freak.. And I like phat bass sounds, would love to be able to play this with the bend for more phrasing. This device doesn't have a pitchbend wheel but as some pointed out, it does have a tuning knob. Is it possible to get a good sound by mapping the pitch bend to the tuning knob? An...

My thoughts on Futzbox
I trialed this too because of all the buzz about it. I was probably expecting something more than what this is (such as more crazy stuff and less simulation of speakers/devices), so my verdict was that it's a great unit, but just not something I feel the need to have.

Funny you ask.... here you go :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY6iSnyyYas Bare in mind this is on a MAC. I don't use a PC in my studio so it might be different, especially the Hosting AU program. Nice! I like it. Thanks Maybe I should try this, I have Komplete as well, just couldn't stand the ...

Awesome! Finally I don't have to have 4 devices, with the same patch... finally i can tweak the sounds and experiment etc... You essentially un-gimped Mercury. Thanks!rcbuse wrote:

Short R&B loop, feedback wanted
I use AKG K240 Studio, haven't dug into the whole frequency response thing, but maybe it's time for that? Got new ones about a year ago, before that I had some other very similar AKG. After a short reading sounds like they may have a "slightly heavy bass reproduction" to quote someone on the interne...

Short R&B loop, feedback wanted
Well usually my music sounds like crap as soon as it's played in regular speakers, sounds fine in headphones. Often the base register is overpowered and the whole sound tends to be muddy. I never get it to sound like "real" music if you get what I'm saying.

Hello,
This is a short R&B loop I made last night. I'm working on trying to improve my sound/production skills, any feedback and advice on mixing/eq/etc are warmly welcome.

You should be able to get up and running without paying anything, the main cost will be the time you put in. Expect to sign an NDA type agreement when you sign up though.

Personally I'm hoping this will make Rob Papen update some of their stuff, like SubBoomBase, the VST looks amazing, the RE not so much. But obviously it's not about the looks, and anyways, its probably down to fitting all the knobs in a limited size rather than the whole 2d/3d thing. They need to ad...

I just trialed ABL2 and realised something. Neither ABL2 or 3 (from the looks of it) supports pitch bend. DOH! :s0959: I myself is one of those that plays pretty much constantly with the pitch stick, and not being able to shape the phrasing freely is a pretty strong dealbreaker for me. I guess I'll...
