Re: Is there a 2023 Roadmap?

Wow, is there any section of your post that isn't pure hyperbole? You seem to be great at pulling statistics out of nowhere. Can you back any of this up with any kind of source? The majority of Apple Computer users are housewives? Are you for real? Simple google returned this: Women and marketing d...

By the time Reason finally gets M1 native support Apple will have lapped them a third time with the M3. ;)

Re: Reason 12.2.9 Release Notes

It's odd to me how people can spend so much on GPUs, LED lights, accessories etc... and then cheap out on the primary OS drive. For anyone even remotely interested in content creation in the 2020s I couldn't imagine getting anything less than 1TB for the main drive. It isn't just for what's needed n...

Re: Reason 12.2.10 Release Notes

In fairness it took Ableton 11 years to implement VST3 support in Live. ;) In fairness, Ableton supports VST2, VST3, AU and AUv3 now. And Apple Silicon, of course. I know, I own Live, but if Steinberg had been a better steward of their own standard and architected a smoother transition strategy to ...

Re: RRP - Logic - Mac Studio Woes

I really liked the feel of LUNA when I tested the original v1 release. It kind of makes me wish I hadn't sold my UAD interface. I ended up replacing it with a MOTU M2 and it hasn't been the best experience. Strange driver issues causing certain functionality to simply not work (like loopback) and an...

Re: Reason 12.2.9 Release Notes

On a more positive note, the same song that would crawl to almost a halt plays PERFECTLY at a buffer of 64 samples at the default CPU setting on my new M1 Studio Max. The previous version needed 1024 sample buffers and turning off Multi-Core Rendering to play without glitches. Impressive performanc...

…maybe it's just me, or I'm lucky all plugins I own have a native M1 version... the only exception solar being VcV rack, which I run on the Win 10 x86 PC anyway. I like to keep to stuff simple. I miss win XP enough by now I'm not entirely sure why people wants to complicate things further than they...

Re: Reason 12 MACOS 13 Ventura (Rosetta)

With the previous chip transition Reason was one of the first audio programs to get ported, so it’s kind of a shame they’re now sharing last place with Protools. It seems their task is a bit bigger this time though. Hopefully they can make their 2022 soft goal.

For authentic NES oscillators, especially the classic 8-bit triangle wave, look no further than Magical 8-bit Plug and it's completely free: https://ymck.net/app/magical-8bit-plug-en It has gotten regular updates for years and is available for all platforms and plugin formats, even M1 native. The Reason Studios LA2A. It's a classic, and as someone who came to the party too late to pick up this RE I'd love to see a new one.
The one by Cakewalk? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Reason Studios themselves ever released an LA-2A style comp.

Yes it is. The last 20 years of asking proved it.
Even the Nord Leads were oversampling to 96KHz 20 years ago.

Re: Macs are better

Mac Studio with 64GB of RAM has been excellent so far, ripping through anything I throw at it and will likely be my main system for the next 5+ years. Silent computing, no matter how hard it is pushed, with this level of performance in such a compact form factor is not something I would've imagined ...

Re: Re: Reason 10 & above, 2 BRUTAL "benchmark" songs included

Since getting a Mac Studio I've been curious to see how it compares to my previous baseline 2020 M1 MacBook Pro which barely managed 5 seconds in the first benchmark. At least now it reaches 1min 30sec before hearing occasional stutters, but overall CPU utilization is barely exceeding 30%. Reason i...

Re: I see that native M1 support has been pushed out to some time in 2022

I don't think that M1 support brings sooo much better performance. Compared with the latest Ableton Live versions (M1 vs Rosetta) I saw not so much performance plus, whatever ... The current performance of R12 on my Macmini M1 und Rosetta is veeery good, I have zero problems with all my projects, s...

Re: Latest Roadmap (21 March 2022)

I'm in the same boat, looking at the Mac Studio especially if there is no new iMac 27". As it is, Reason shouldn't run any slower with the Mac Studio in Rosetta than it does on your current computer, but once it is optimized for M1 it's going to be a whole new experience! I am also considering the ...

Steinberg are just not granting new VST2 SDK licenses any longer, but there’s nothing stopping current licensees from developing M1 native VST2 plug-ins and most already have.

Funny, I used to think Reason would be one of the first DAWs to become M1 native, but now they're dead last. I bet even Protools will beat them to it, especially now that iLok has finally been fully ported.
