Re: Replacing 14:2 Mixer EQ with 24db EQ?
Even though the frequency values don't match, the SSL high shelf at 22khz mimics the 14:2 EQ treble knob curve pretty closely. Same with the low shelf at 40hz.

Re: Mix to mono
Hi I would recommend option #3 as the first two will likely do more damage than good. I give a recipe using stock Reason devices in this article http://benedictroffmarsh.com/2014/08/15/mixing-in-mono/ I check in Mono, a bit of loss is not uncommon in a modern widened mix but in reality most music w...

Re: what if reason removed the authoriser ?
I would think Reason anything is NOT huge on a "pirate" list. Outside of here it is not even close to being popular. It's not huge on those kinds of lists because it has been strongly protected over the past ~5 years. Prior to that Reason 5 and earlier were easily some of the most widely "distribut...

Re: Novation Remote 49 SL MKII without Automap
Automap or not, those SL MKii have some of the nicest synth keyboards I've used. There aren't many other controllers I'm aware of that still license the FATAR keybed/action because it bumps up the price a bit. NI's Komplete Kontrol feature them too, I believe.

I'm glad they're rebuilding their interfaces. They haven't been scaling well with ever increasing screen resolutions; a bit too small. The current Decimort VST/AU is downright microscopic.

It seems that way. They may be overhauling the core architecture of their plugins and in the process modernizing them to be more portable for other formats like RE.Tumble wrote:I'm more of a Syntorus man myself. Is this perhaps part of an upgrade process for all the Silverline plugins?

D16 Decimort 2 announced (RE as well)
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/614947/Forums/decimort2.png http://d16.pl/news/item/110 This has been a long time coming for me. Decimort is not only my favorite D16 effect plugin, but one of my favorites overall. I still haven't found anything else that overdrives, resamples and bit-reduces qu...

Re: Hulk Mjolnir compressor demolition derby!
Dynamite !!!! I just recently learned something about Dynamite which quickly changed my overall opinion of it for the better. I'd been trialling it over the past week and was trying to understand why so many people gave it such high praise because I just couldn't seem to get a pleasing sound out of...

Re: Hulk Mjolnir compressor demolition derby!
So I'm planning on using some heavy compression on drums in parallel processing in a few tracks as a creative effect and I'm wondering what compressor my fellow Reasontalkers would lean towards for greatest smashing ability. I've got the FRG which I think has some pretty nice smashing power but I r...

Re: Reason December 2015 Deals *the i'ts not over edition*
I could be wrong, but I suspect the Prop shop's December deals page is not fully updated yet. I'm glad to see some of the sales continue, though. There's a few more I wasn't able to pick up over the weekend that I still plan to grab before the year is out.

Re: With RV7000mkII, what reverbs do I still need?
I'm intrigued by Synapse Fat Space. It's one of the most narrowly specific reverbs in the Prop shop, but makes it so easy to dial in useful room/ambience without artifacts or mud. I suppose this is exactly the kind of reverb that RV7000mk2 should be able to replace with the right impulse responses.

I somehow missed this one, but just started the trial after seeing it come up so many times in this thread and I really like what I'm hearing so far. It's one of the easiest to use room reverbs I've worked with.O1B wrote: .. but why hasn't FAT SPACE been in my rack all this time??...

Re: so what did you score this black friday ?
I’m pretty happy with the deals so far, but there are still a few lingering items I've wanted for a long while like Dynamite and Antidote which I should probably jump on before it’s too late.

Re: The killing blow has been delivered
I regularly work in multiple music making environments, but I'm generally more productive in Reason because it seems to tickle my brain in uniquely creative ways. Everyone's process is different though, so go for whatever fuels that ever elusive inspiration. Thankfully it doesn't have to be an eithe...

That makes sense...I am simultaneously looking forward to and dreading this endeavor. My machine will run well again, but it's going to be a PITA for sure. I also have SONAR Platinum to install, but that's another issue for another place :) I've been in the process of a system rebuild myself over t...

Thanks guys!!! As far as the Scarlett… Is there something else that you guys would recommend that has stereo in? I tried to make a comprehensive list of everything I could find that was improved, big and small, in R8 from previous versions, but I haven't revisited the list for v8.1-8.3. I should probably do it now that I finally have a computer again.

As a recent Apollo Twin user who's been wondering if I'll have to continue using Soundflower to get loopback functionality in Reason, this has been helpful. I'm based out of the pacific northwestern united states, but I should note that all of my rack extensions are either effects or synthesizer instruments, so no large sample-based downloads. My internet connection is in the 20Mb/s range on average, so not too fast. Regardless, the elegance of Propelle...
