Hmm, now I'm curious. I must have missed Kompulsion when it was originally released. I have Korde now and they seem similar.

Re: What would make you consider Reason+ sub?
I doubt anyone who spends a good amount of time with a high resolution, crystal clear, 60fps Reason UI will call it a gimmick in the end.

I had heard rumblings about this a while back regarding Native-Instruments, but I was not expecting it to be iZotope at all. That took me by surprise.

Re: Studio One Update 5.2
I think I am right in saying that Studio One is going to be the best DAW in no time. this is only the second point update, much more than other software with full updates ... Reaper and FL Studio's point updates have been amazing too and Logic's have been so consistently good they basically made th...

Re: Studio One Update 5.2
I'm definitely impressed by PreSonus and their aggressive push to innovate the DAW market. They co-developed ARA with Celemony and their new public domain API to enable host/plugin communication for sophisticated keyswitching is fantastic, something I'd love to see broadly adopted since (unlike VST3...

Re: Where is Reason going ?
At the time I liked the stable, perfectly backward compatible sandbox nature of Reason. I still do actually and find it amazing that I can continue to load old projects from 2001 and they all still play. It’s not unlike being able to revisit my Protracker mods from the 90s. Most everything else pre-...

Re: WASAPI
I'm really glad to see a new low latency, robust audio driver standard for Windows 10. That sounds awesome. Hopefully support for WASAPI will continue to broaden so that users won't have to lean on 3rd party solutions as much. If it can be as dependable as CoreAudio that'd be fantastic. Oh, and Appl...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
I checked my email. I purchased a Reaper license in July, 2007. LOL! It was mostly to test VSTs out. It's a great prog, but I could not gel with it back then. Never tried it again when VST became a thing in Reason. I loved all the skins they had for it. That was fun. That sounds like me with FL Stu...

Re: Where is Reason going ?
It's funny to reflect on all of the "future of Reason" crystal ball threads I've participated in over the past 15+ years, from PUF to now. Some things never change. One of these days I need to go back through the wayback machine and see just how wrong most of my passionate pontificating was. I'm not...

Re: Where is Reason going ?
I may be the odd one out, and I do like skeuomorphism when done tastefully, but I have always found the Reason mixer to be a misguided design on computer monitors. I've seen how it can work out pretty well on a multi-monitor setup, but in a single monitor workflow it's one of my least favorite aspec...

Re: Build Thor 2 on the Algoritm platform
Beyond the high resolution refresh, I'd be happy if they just dedicated a few more CPU cycles to oversampling on all of the old synths. They did something like this in the old days with NN-19 and the "high quality interpolation" button, or the improved EQ on the 14:2 mixer.

keep believing that you have a superior product. I believe you have a hardware equivalent of a medical placebo. as long as you are happy and i am happy who cares hey, but please don't try to convince me anything would be better for me on an apple laptop, and i wont try to convince you i believe you...

Re: Migrated back to Windows after 13 years on Mac OS.
Oh really? Which model of Dell laptop can match the performance, 20 hours of battery life, color calibrated screen quality and zero noise of my $1300 MacBook Pro for $650? I actually want to get another PC eventually, but I’m waiting for Intel’s stranglehold on the CPU market to continue loosening....

I'm still considering it, at least for the discounted first year. It's not a bad price for current users and should include the next version of Reason as well.

Re: Migrated back to Windows after 13 years on Mac OS.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen the old one-button mouse complaint, but I guess some misconceptions never die. I was using multi-button mice on the Mac in 1999. Even Apple’s own mice went 2-button in 2005 and MacBooks have been two-finger tap to right-click for many years. Most just use 3rd party ...

When I don't like an app anymore I nuke it from my system, and I delete any links related to it from my bookmarks. Then I move on. Not doing this would make me feel like a creepy person checking on an old girlfriend's facebook page at 3 AM. Every night. Let it go :lightbulb:  I still lov...

Re: (POLL) - Will you buy Algoritm?
I will definitely buy it, but I'm waiting for the upcoming Apple silicon Reason compatibility update first because the performance at the moment is quite erratic and unpredictable. The just released FL Studio v20.8.2 update was an amazing uplift in performance (like 2-3x more performant) and it's si...

Re: Where is Reason going ?
Almost anything RS adds to the core program will be considered decades old catch-up at this point, which isn’t the greatest marketing position to be in. I get why they’d rather focus on new instruments. When looking back through my recent projects the last time I was really using Reason as a dedicat...

Re: Where is Reason going ?
I gave up on Reason as my primary DAW and moved on ages ago. I do think they should continue to improve on it though, especially for the loyal users who still prefer it. Considering how rarely I see Reason marketed as anything other than the RRP these days does not bode well, but then again R12 may ...

Re: Migrated back to Windows after 13 years on Mac OS.
I've switched back and forth several times over the years and I actually like the current version of Windows 10 just fine. I'm on macOS currently because I got tired of being a system building computer nerd, but I may switch back again someday if the price/performance tradeoff is wildly out of balan...

Re: Algoritm is released!
<off-topic> I still don't understand where Reason is going, nor where Reason Studios are leading us. Tons of "new" (FM in 2021 ? Wow, awesome !) synths always hide a feeling of "hey, here are fillers so we can give you the illusion we consider you, dear users". Instead of focusing on useful things ...

Re: Algoritm is released!
I've always wanted a powerful, but intuitively easy to program FM synth, so I'll likely be picking this up as well once Reason gets updated for native Apple silicon. I'm guessing they'll wait to do this alongside the asset overhaul, but I wonder if this will be an R11.5 update or a full version upgr...

Picked up Lindell 80 (as others have said, lots of mojo) and Purple MC77, so I can finally divorce myself from UAD for the last time. It has taken what feels like a year to gradually find substitutes for everything I care about.

Here's a nice, levelheaded explainer about SSD lifespans, wear-leveling and how it relates to M1 Macs or any computer for that matter, since they all use virtual/swap memory.
