Re: what if reason removed the authoriser ?
REs are linked to your Reason account. I would think that cracking Reason's authorization would open the door to cracking REs. I can't imagine too many RE developers would be enthusiastic about that.

Re: Mix to mono
The benefit of options 1 and 3 is that you can program them into the master section and create a Mono button on the SSL to switch back and forth at will.

Re: Mix to mono
I heard stories about instruments which completely disappeared when track was switched to mono. That's due to the left and right signals being out of phase with each other. The more out of phase the signals are, the more of a surround sound effect you will get in stereo, but the less mono-compatibl...

Re: Propellerhead Reason in 100 years
In a mere 19-20 years, much of the software made for Windows 95 is incompatible with the current version. Many file formats can't even be opened. If we're going by the OP, the assumption is that Reason is still around. In that case, we aren't talking about an executable program (which certainly wou...

What I said was that this is something people have been complaining about. To say otherwise is simply not accurate. Whether such complaints are legitimate is another matter.Gaja wrote:They have sales for existing users.

Re: Props are pushing R8 hard
Seems that you've taken bits and pieces from peoples thoughts and molded them together. I'd explain it, but I'd have to charge  Umm...no. I answered a psychological question with a hypothetical answer. And then I noted the context in which I have observed people actually "complaining" about sa...

Re: Props are pushing R8 hard
Where does something like that come from? If one hated R8, and then R8 failed to become popular, then one could feel vindicated in hating R8. But you spoke of "how dare they have sales" and such. I've only noticed that in the context of, how dare they have sales for new customers and not existing u...

I don't recall any significant "upgrade" deals, only full-purchase offers. Maybe I'm being pedantic, but I don't call having to buy the full version at full price an upgrade.pushedbutton wrote:There's plenty deals that have come and gone to entice people into upgrading to Reason 8

Re: Any News on 8.4?
Well from what I witnessed it was much the same. People getting 'angry' is just silly because nobody is owed anything. Nobody pre-ordered Reason 8 before it was announced, nobody is paying for a subscription to Reason... And it's never great in number, just in frequency from a small group. And for ...

Re: Any News on 8.4?
I think just as many users were supposedly disappointed in Reason 7. Well, yes and no. I was among the people who were not initially impressed with v7, but I don't remember so many people being angry about it. R7 was seen as more of a "meh" update, while R8 was almost seen as an insult. But I think...

Re: Mac or PC ? Which is best quality?
I will say this: The thing you get with Apple products that you rarely (if ever) get with PCs is free in-person technical support at the Apple Store. Given my track record with Macs, that's absolutely essential.

Re: Mac or PC ? Which is best quality?
always hearing from Windows users how Mac is 'overpriced' Mac is overpriced in the sense that a Porche is overpriced if all you care about is your daily commute. I don't think that Apple products are overpriced as much as they are overrated. Let's leave aside my personal experience with Macs and as...

an OS that doesn't piss you off: Mac The opposite of my experience. 3 Macs at work (because two of them crashed) over the past 3 years, and I've hated most minutes of it. Thankfully I'm working in Windows now. It isn't Heaven by any stretch of the imagination, but I find Mac to be pure hell. To eac...

Re: Why is ReBirth Input Machine still in the palette?
Rebirth runs sweet as a nut on win 7 64bit . Reason 7.1 64 bit . I posted a you tube vid of just that using a 32 bit bridge ages ago. I'm on win 10 now nor really checked to see if it still works via bridge yet . But rebirth and reason linked and worked flawlessly in win 7 64bit on pc I can confirm...

Re: Why is ReBirth Input Machine still in the palette?
I seem to recall having run programs in two different modes simultaneously in Win7 (64) ; seemed to work okay, with the only difference being switching to the program running under an older mode meant that the fancier Win7 graphics features became disabled. Granted, there wasn't any inter-program c...

Re: Why is ReBirth Input Machine still in the palette?
if your old Windows95 program doesn't work in Windows 7 as is, you can set your system to run it in an older emulation mode. Could a clever person tinker with that and get ReBirth and R8 to play together? That depends on the old program, as far as getting it to run in Win7 (if it's 16-bit, then you...

Re: Why is ReBirth Input Machine still in the palette?
Line 6 is going away because PH and Yamaha (who recently bought Line 6) apparently can't come to an agreement on continuing their license. ReBirth has no such conflict. My point is that if backward compatibility were such a concern then Line6 would also be a problem, but it's disappearing anyway. M...

Re: Why is ReBirth Input Machine still in the palette?
The reason, I think, is fairly simple: There may very well be someone out there that has old tracks that need the ReBirth program - someone may still be running it. And since PH makes a point of touting Reason's ability to just open up files from even the oldest versions of Reason, they probably wi...

Re: Producing
You should use whatever the track needs to fit in the mix. That said, it's rare that you would not need some compression, reverb or EQ for a track. It baffles me as to what i should be doing. Then keep doing it! I know it sounds facetious, but the only way you will learn is to do it over and over ag...

Re: No love for Reason?
I didn't see any that were a-z in reason. I think it's highly unlikely you will find any "commercial-level" recordings that are done 100% in Reason because at the very least mastering is almost always done separately from tracking and mixing at the commercial level. The likelihood that the artist, ...

Todd Rundgren has been the big name that produced an album exclusively in Reason, but IIRC the synths on that album sounded very cheesy. I doubt it did much to boost sales or change anyone's mind about Reason.
