Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
No trigger mode "makes the sample play in a one shot fashion" (tap my midi controller and have the sample play all the way until the end without having to hold the pad/key down) Surely you can achieve this by simply setting the ADSR Release high enough to play the entire sample. I do however share ...

Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler
Perhaps I'm being really dim, but I can't seem to find a way of automating the switching between active slots. If you've got several variants of a sample in each slot, and you want to hop between them in mid performance, then obviously you can do so by clicking the individual slot. However, this sl...

Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler
Well, what can I say? My initial impression yesterday was that I was underwhelmed. Having had time to play with it properly today, I've completely revised (and indeed reversed) my feelings about Mimic. As a guitarist (primarily), this is an incredible tool. It makes it ridiculously easy to grab segm...

Heard it. Loved it. Bought it.
This is one beautiful sounding synth. Thanks, Andras. Your work is stunning, as always.

Re: Spectra is now free
I so glad to see people who already bought it being happy for the people who are now getting it as a gift. There's too much "they got and I didn't and it's not fair" these days. We've got a good community going on here. Hear hear! It's great to see the community coming together in appreciation of a...

Re: Spectra is now free
An amazingly magnanimous gesture. Thank you. I feel a little guilty about it though, because I came really close to buying Spectra back in May, and was fully intending to do so later this summer.... so it feels slightly as if I've cheated you out of a sale. Hope everything is well, and best wishes f...

Re: to Jiggery
If you're still struggling to get 'On' to work, try this as a workaround... Instead of 'Enable' and 'Bypass/On', try configuring the button to trigger 'Dry/Wet' (with min set to 'zero' and max set to 40 percent, or however wet you want it). For the patch you're using, it should have the same effect ...

Re: to Jiggery
Did you try setting it to Bypass AND On ? Yes. Bypass & On is really the only way you'll get any usable sounds out of it (assuming it's a simple combi with an instrument running straight into Animus). 'OFF' would kill the signal, effectively muting the instrument, so if you want to switch between w...

Re: to Jiggery
Works fine for me. Likewise. Fine for me too. Are you sure you're not scrolling too fast between the options, DannyF? 'On' should definitely be there, between 'Off' & 'bypass', but the mouse/trackpad sometimes seems to jump really quickly from one extreme to the other when there are only three posi...

Re: New RE Grid64p2 Generative Player by ReTouch Control
I'm not sure if it's just my machine being weird, but every time I've tried this, the generated patterns seem to be offset by a 16th. The same happens if I 'send to track' or 'direct record'. Every pattern starts 1/16th after the metronome. Is anyone else experiencing this? (Obviously it's easy enou...

Reason 13 will be all about exciting new instruments like Radical Kazoo and A-List Cowbells. Assuming human society survives long enough to see Reason 13, I'm holding out for "Deliverance Banjo": the perfect RE for capturing that post-apocalyptic vibe when all the cannibal hillbillies des...

Re: May Madness 2021?
(I should probably just RTFM.) You definitely should. Lectric Panda's manuals are pretty good, and the one for Torsion sets it all out well But it's a fairly specialised instrument. Not sure what you're into, but I like drones and textures and weird minimalist soundscapes, and Torsion is perfect fo...

Re: How have the introductions of VSTs changed how you use Reason?
Floating windows do my brain in. I suspect that's largely because I'm working on a laptop with an already cramped screen. (OK, it's 17 inches, which is quite generous for a laptop, but not ideal for a busy DAW screen). Obviously things would be different if I had a multi-monitor setup, but most of t...

Re: Reason a plugin?
My guess is that they've tallied up the figures and determined that the DAW aspect of it has hit market saturation, and that (perhaps) they've simply not been attracting many brand new customers in recent editions. It's feasible (and again, this is pure guesswork) that the bulk of their DAW sales ha...

Yeah I know. I did get Torsion from the Rewards Store, though, and that motherfucker has changed my life For some reason torsion isn't in my rewards store. I've also trailed it briefly and couldn't work out what was amazing/musical with it (I really wanted to love it), so picked up Fritz instead. I...

Re: WAUBABY Multi-Wah fx (best wah collection that you know by Turn2on)
Might get one. I’ve got the Nektar footswitch and it’s good build quality. My M—Audio does the job but I like Nektar stuff. It’s all plastic right? Yeah, except for the base plate which is metal, which gives it a bit more weight. I really like Nektar's stuff. It's great quality... but then, I like ...

Re: Announcing the Selig Audio May Madness Sale!
Regarding Selig's 'all-in-one' idea, I can see it being appealing for new users, but I'm not sure if there would be any practical incentive for existing users to upgrade if we're already happy with the three separate REs. Obviously, there are many, many instances where you'd use Gain or Leveller on ...

Re: WAUBABY Multi-Wah fx (best wah collection that you know by Turn2on)
Nekatar keyboards have sustain and exp ins. And they integrate well with reason. Word of warning: Not ALL of the Nektar keyboards have 'expression in'. My Panorama P6 does, but my little Impact LX25 doesn't. I'm not sure about the newer T4/T6 range. (I think they do, but check first.) If you alread...
