Re: (Post-Industrial) Douras Nim - DTHX45
It's pretty cool, but as a very basic synth (at first look), it took me awhile to understand it's greatness (no part in thanks to the weak manual). It pretty much always sounds good, and the sequencer is powerful.

Re: (Post-Industrial) Douras Nim - DTHX45
This is pretty sick. What synths did you use, and other hardware gear? I really like Nasty Cathedral Synth Fest, 2037, お休み, and Smog... Smog is very strange. Not so much into Decay and Dual Arp. Some really cool sounds on Station M... On top of my head : Yamaha DX7, Roland SH-01a, Microbrute, Korg ...

(Post-Industrial) Douras Nim - DTHX45
Hello, A few weeks ago we released a new album, Douras Nim ' DTHX45. It was recorded in Reason so I thought it would fit in here. A mix of hardware synths & gear, including a repaired mixer from the 70's (which has an integrated spring reverb) & Reason effects where used in the making. It's basicall...

Re: Ekssperimental Sounds Drumsyn in the Shop
I agree it's nice to see such a release. However in the manual it's written that it was made with the Gorilla Engine, and on the web page for said thing, it states that it's for making sample-based VST & plug-in instruments. So it makes me wonder if it's actually synthesis ? Yes, it's actual synthe...

Re: Ekssperimental Sounds Drumsyn in the Shop
Really nice to see more percussive synthesis in Reason! The FSB and the shop are overflowing with samples, but drum synths have been too few and far between. I agree it's nice to see such a release. However in the manual it's written that it was made with the Gorilla Engine, and on the web page for...

Re: Sequences 1.4 - With Per-Note Conditions!
1) Is it possible to assign the Advance / Erase Note button to a MIDI controller as a on/off ? If so, is it also possible to do so while using the RRP ? I'm asking because I don't want to have to reach for the mouse every time I want to insert a rest. Yes, you can Remote control the following prope...

Re: Sequences 1.4 - With Per-Note Conditions!
I've been holding out on getting Sequences for a long time now. I just love the SH-01A sequencer and it seems like it's a very similar / powerful tool. I have 2 small questions before I take the plunge. I couldn't find any information about remotable controls in the PDF manual. 1) Is it possible to ...

Re: Roland Boutiques NO midi out! (edit-usb hack!)
Yes it works fine with input from DIN midi or USB from other keyboards. Using the L M H transpose switch works with the optional-built-in keyboard to change octave, but it doesn't send out the octave change through DIN midi. On the SH-01A there's the octave out from the cv and gate, at least from t...

Re: Roland Boutiques NO midi out! (edit-usb hack!)
I think the MIDI Out (on the SH-01A at least) also works as a MIDI Thru.. but I noticed that it doesn't even send octave changes from it's own keyboard.. maybe it's just to pass out MIDI from other sources/channels.. anyway it's really weird. How would you octave change on that tiny keyboard?? I ha...

Re: What is your interest in and use of the RRP?
I think I will use the RRP, eventually. Updating to R11 isn't just a priority. The next version might do the trick, we'll see. For now, using R10 on it's own is good enough, taking a break from my other DAW.

Re: Apple- Scary or Exciting?
It's not so much as whether USB is supported. It's whether the various hardware and software companies will update their products, particularly the drivers, for the new platform. Any (then) current products should be OK but any discontinued hardware might only be good for paperweights. If it comes ...

Re: PSQ-1684 v3.1.0 is in the shop! [Updates]
The PSQ-1684 sequencer sends out note data. The gate section sends the gates Indeed it does, however it seems the Drum Pattern specifically doesn't. If you look at the combi patches, they all connect to the gate of the drum machine only (Redrum, Kong), I think it was made this way because these dru...

Re: PSQ-1684 v3.1.0 is in the shop! [Updates]
Am I correct in assuming that the Drum Pattern only sends out gate signals ? I wanted to use PSQ-1684 to send note data to the Korg Es-1 (sampling drum machine) via MIDI to make it produce crazy patterns, but it seems it cannot work ? I would need to be able to send notes to a range like this : C2 ...

Re: ReWire : A Conversation on it's Demise.
I know I am in the minority, but the demise of Rewire meant I stopped using Reason the way I used to, in my main projects. I also stopped buying REs. Maybe I will again in the future, we'll see.. It actually wasn't painful to use, nor to setup, you seriously only had to do it once (templates!). But ...

Re: Tuned Drums in Reason, and Beyond ?
Some sounds may still not be tun-able (for exemple a hi-hat or cymbal made out of noise). Noise is still sounding at a frequency though, right. Or is noise just a mash of unrelated frequencies, therefore making it unusable to measure music-specific notes. I've never analysed noise to be honest, bec...
