Reason Tutorials: "One Neat Trick" [Preview]

After years of putting it off, I'm starting to put together a series of Reason tutorials I'm calling "One Neat Trick." The first video is a demonstration of how to create pseudo-random sequences in Reason. At present, this video is not visible on my channel; I'm providing a link here to solicit reac...

Eventide H949 Single/Dual Harmonizer VST - SALE thru September 7 - $50

An absolute steal at $50 (normally $199). I used it on a mix this weekend, replacing a Polar I ran a guitar thru for mutant guitar processing, and holy f**king s**t the difference is like night and day. Blows Polar totally out of the water. Note: it's more CPU intensive than Polar, but there are way...

Everyone's entries here are great, kudos to all! It wouldn't surprise me if someone in this topic chain takes the prize. Deadline is April 16, so you have tonight and tomorrow to get in last minute entries.

Re: Is anyone entering the tobtok remix challenge? My work in progress

My entry, for what it's worth... https://soundcloud.com/myxprojekt/new-levels-too-dimensional-mix I took my cue from revisiting many Orb remix projects, paying attention to the various production techniques they employ. That, and also paying attention to how remix artists are able to take an existin...

Nothing specific to Delta but it discusses how you can use ganged-together Matrix sequencers to generate extremely long sequences that go well beyond 32 steps. May be of use?

Re: Klerhaim Anyone?

Impulse purchase, intro price attractive, bold claims. I am not disappointed. I have both the Arturia Mini V and the Synapse Legend; to my ears the Klerhaim has a beefier, chunkier sound. It reminds me of the Moog Source (which I owned back in the day) but with a little more character. No Mod Wheel ...

Re: I have reason on pc if i bought a mc would i have to rebuy reason or can my license be used on mac as well?

Also: I have purchased a number of VSTs from Arturia and Native Instruments, among others. I've had no problems getting them installed on both my Windows and Mac machines, and using them in Reason on both machines.

Re: Horror music ideas?

Grain is especially adept at mangling a garden variety pad or orchestral sample to sound strange and eerie. In addition to stepping through and previewing various presets available for Reason synths (esp. the fx patches), experiment with running spooky sounds and chords through the various preset ef...

Breaking the 32-Note Matrix Sequencer Limit

I've been meaning to put something like this together for some time. Here's a link to a Combinator I built in Reason 11 using stock Reason devices. It is a proof-of-concept demonstrating how you can use Matrix sequencers and the Spider CV device to create sequences longer than 32 notes and that can ...

Re: When did U-he exit RE development?

I took advantage of that crossgrade option recently and grabbed VST versions of all the Uhbik REs. Haven't had a chance to stress test them yet, can anyone confirm that the VSTs are significantly lighter on CPU than their RE counterparts? How did you take advantage of the crossgrade? I went through...

Re: What is your go-to vocal reverb(s)?

It all depends on the song context, different reverbs for different feels, I never rely on a single specific reverb device for vocals. One thing I have learned over the years with reverb is this: long, big sounding wet reverbs tend to impart a sense of psychological/emotional distance between perfor...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason

Re: Is Rack Extension renting even though we paid in full

I can't imagine them taking away the license purchase business model and replacing it with renting only - unless one of the renting options mirrors the current business model of 'once you buy it, you can keep using it with no time limit' (fine print notwithstanding). Since we know the Prop Shop alre...

Re: Disperser - Underrated?

It's a niche product to be sure, but has come in handy for me especially in situations where simple EQ isn't getting me to the sound I'm looking for. One definitely needs to spend time with it, play with the controls and listen to what it does to the sound, in order to (a) understand how to use it a...

Re: Radical Piano 1.04 in the shop

I asked PH on their Facebook page about what is new or was changed in the Radical Piano 1.0.4 update, I got a reply from Stefan today:

"Fixed a bug in one of the patches!"

So it's just a maintenance upgrade, no new features & nothing changed that was related to the SDK update as far as I can tell.

As for Malstom, thinking of more graintables perhaps, maybe some more basses would be sub bass, lately bass and solid bass but maybe just make a sub bass with the Wave: Sine oscillator already in there in octave 2 perhaps. I have a vague recollection of a thread on the old PH forum regarding Malstr...
