Re: Synapse The Legend Synthesizer is in the Shop

Is the reverb the same as in DR-1 and antidote? No, it is a new development. In order to match The Legend's vintage theme, it is inspired by the classic 224 hall program which was heavily used in the late 70s and 80s. Since it is a modulated reverb, it is ideal for synthetic sounds. I believe Vange...

Re: Synapse The Legend Synthesizer is in the Shop

Would putting two or more Legends inside the combi and splitting the key range add more voices? I haven't tried, but yeah should work- clever idea! :) Another more basic idea would be to use combi splits to play a bassline in the low region then some chords in the upper region, which would give you...

Re: Question for Richard

From the manual: "Built around a vectorized core, The Legend is capable of synthesizing multiple voices for the cost of little more than a single voice, making it one of the most efficient analog-modeling plug-ins available today" With this in mind - why is the poly-mode only 4 voices? I very often...

We plan to make the crossgrade free of charge, just send us your PH invoice as proof of purchase once the VST is out :)

Re: Synapse The Legend Synthesizer is in the Shop

Great new synth - I may actually love the 12 dB oct filter mode more than the 24 - something about the resonance on that baby. Minor gripe: Wish Osc 3 wasn't clamped at it's lowest setting when using as an LFO - Maybe Richard would consider un-clamping this so one could drive the LFO speed lower wi...

Re: Synapse The Legend Synthesizer is in the Shop

Didn't see this one coming. Any one going to compare this to Diva and Monark? So we can confirm if we have the new analog modelling king. Surely won't take long for users to compare :) For now you can listen to the "official" comparison files: http://www.synapse-audio.com/legend/LegendVsHardware.zi...

Exciting news, RE's can now be as heavily optimised as vst and use streaming simd instructions

While I understand that some topics like hate speach, politics & religion can't be discoursed in a Reason related forum, the Rack Extension SDK improvements and details ban is 100% wrong in my view. IMHO, this ReasonTalk self censorship it's like Gearslutz banning pictures showing the insides of ge...

Exciting news, RE's can now be as heavily optimised as vst and use streaming simd instructions

Do that many developers really write their DSP routines to use 64-bit math? That's incredibly wasteful, even without Uhe's saying so, all the audio handling code I write has used 32-bit floats, instead of needlessly promoting it to 64-bit. Also SSE2 and later can do vector processing on double prec...
