Re: What is your interest in and use of the RRP?
*Looks at the poll... 26 people have Versions of Reason less than the current. That's... TWENTY. SIX. PEOPLE. Out of tens of thousands of licensed users. No wonder ReasonStudios is not putting more effort into the DAW. Almost everyone has upgraded anyways. * sigh * :( :o  :?  :r...

Re: What is your interest in and use of the RRP?
i mainly upgraded so i can use my RE outside of reason standalone but the new players and synths since my old version are a big bonus. RRP seems really well done overall.

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
But other than a full incremental updates it seems to be advancing only barely more rapidly than the MIDI standard! This is my only reservation - if Props are integrating VSTs for the first time, it seems crazy not to support the latest standard right off the bat (ie. VST 3 rather than 2). Surely t...

Re: POLL: How likely are you to dump your "other" DAW now that VST support is here?
Yep, will be coming back to reason from s1 because of this. I can use my RE and VSTs together and no more going mad metering and offsetting my FX chains with VMG-01s. s1 is pretty top notch for sequencing and editing and comes with a ton of material and decent plugins but reason things like slice t...

Re: Does anyone else think it is a mistake to allow Reason Essentials to support VST?
yeah it's slightly eyebrow raising but it makes essentials a super competitive low end host. like s1 artist requires you to buy an add on, for example, to use vsts.

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
Anyone else more excited about PDC than VST support? I remember it was not too long ago when someone from their team claimed it would be impossible to implement PDC. v9.5 is truly a case of the impossible coming to reality! yes, i just wonder about the details of that, like how it works with RE and...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
I reckon (please send us your reckons) I reckon, VST support must have been overwhelmingly the biggest feature request for Reason, for YEARS. For that reason alone, this step makes sense. With regard to REs, I reckon: Maybe this IS a bit of an admission of failure, insomuch as maybe the RE feature ...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
personally trashin studio one since I can actually compose the same in reason. yeah, I appreciate what presonus have done with studio one but i find the GUI clutter and terrible undo really unenjoyable. it does have considerably better audio editing but i think i can live with reason's since i most...

Re: VST in reason, effects on the rack extension market?
the issue is that companies like NI have their own shop and auth system. if RE were an open platform like VST (inb4 GNU nerds) then you might see more ports but if i can't buy a crossgrade licence from a company as a consumer then i'm really disinclined to purchase an RE version that i can't use an...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
all those people who are afraid of VSTs killing Reason or Rack Extensions, are YOU going to quit using REs because of this change? because as an avid RE user, and also an owner of many VSTs (and more to come), I am not going to stop being excited about Rack Extensions. and I'm sure a lot of loyal u...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
One thing I've been awaiting in Reason for a long time is a much more advanced sampler - beyond NN-XT which has served me well, but always feel like I'm fighting it rather than working with it (especially on the splitting up of samples across the keyboard). VST could be my route to making this happ...

Re: VST in reason, effects on the rack extension market?
As REs become as capable as VSTs which is not far off and they have scalable rack etc in reason they'll make it easier to port over and people will sell the RE along with the VST. So you'd get RE, VST and AU versions together when buying in the Reason shop. Maybe for a few quid more. Maybe they cou...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
I think it depends on how RE develop, which over the last few years has been more toward niche tools than big ports. you might see the ports dry up i guess . but, to an extent, that already happened.

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
tbh there is a lot that could be done to make the sequencer and audio editing better without even going for the super advanced stuff like per clip automation. but now it's going to have VST i just know i'm not going to be so eternally buttblasted about feature XY or Z not being in reason because i c...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
honestly, my audio driver crashes more than any plugins i have. the plugins that are bad are usually unusablely so and get deleted. I wish more Reason user were as level-minded, amigo. I agree. Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
With such a radical step-up to VST you would have thought it worthy of being called Reason 10. It easily earns a new number. Would love to know the reason for a micro increment from 9.2 to 9.5. propellerhead actually have a history of doing big point five releases such as 2.5 and 6.5 so it kind of ...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
the possibilities with CV in and combinator use are pretty amazing. you can kind of do this with mu labs from what i hear but i've never used it myself. to have that sort of control over VST in reason is going to be very interesting.

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
VST is the biggest deal since RE came out. the average reason user is going to be blown away with what they can access, especially since they can now benefit from a massive amount of cool free synths and effects to supplement the stock racks, as well as the big beast synths and samplers. i have no d...

Re: Reason 9.5 – VST in Reason
I'm sure that if the very much loved global undo was still a thing with the vst integration it would have been mentioned in the video. But despite that, do you guys think it still might happen? Reaper and Renoise manage it. Studio One doesn't which is why I'm looking at this reason development with...
