Re: Have Daw's Reached Their Limit?

big thing is live playing. a start and stop DAW is not so interesting for many new musicians who simply want to create while the machine is "rolling".

master on headphones

I am totally into headphones (Sennheiser HD600 for the win!). And here's a guy professionally mastering on headphones called Glenn Schick:

Makes total sense to me.

12 tones = 2 scales

I wrote a simple piece about music theory how our 12 tone system holds 2 scales.

Re: Click noises while hitting play and/or record (buffersize) - please help

maybe Reason is using the integrated graphics chip instead of the discreet one. You can easily switch between those using a free open source app, see my old blogpost for this:

Re: What is your top 5 rack extension and why

1. Selig Gain - included in all my Reason projects 2. RE-2A - classic in-your-face compressor, superb midrange niftyness 3. Revival Drawbar Synthesizer - best Hammond ever, superb effects also 4. Moo Tube Compressor - best "unnoticeable" compressor (it's not a Tube compressor, no saturation! and I a...

Re: Versatile, low DSP audio loudness meter recommendation?

I have no idea what Delta means. Would love to have a manual some suff is not totally clear to me. Delta is the difference between the actual signal and the one set as target. Like in mathematics or physics - delta is the amount of change or difference :) But sure, having a manual wouldn't hurt! th...

Re: Versatile, low DSP audio loudness meter recommendation?

For me, at the end only the big right number in the display of the Flower Audio counts. I don't need something that looks like a volume meter and I don't need a graph either. And for working with reference tracks I like the 2nd input. Thanks! :) Must say the LPM lacks a manual, which is strange. I ...

Re: A synth is a synth (pretty much)?

well there are synth which won't create typical overtones, 2nd 3rd harmonics and so on. these create totally different sounds which have a totally different interaction when using it in combination. different harmonics.

you could say most synths are modal. some are not.

Must say the LPM lacks a manual, which is strange. I believe I asked for it at one time. Not sure why there's no manual.

it's a shitty situation. fuck the music industry who lobbied for these laws. it's sick.

Must say I am only interested in the Moo.
EQ or compressor? The weakest imo. Both.
Compressor. I have the RE version.

Re: MCDSP ChannelStrip Deal 70% off

Love the Moo. Having this as VST plugin is tempting but I guess my https://klanghelm.com/contents/products/MJUC/MJUC.php has it all covered. Don't hear much about Klanghelm, it's mind blowing. it covers all the basis of 10 eqs, 10 compressors, saturator, expansion and filtering with like 30 vsts es...

art doesn't have a purpose. art doesn't want to tell us something.

it can though.

but it doesn't need it.

art just is.

Re: Kuassa Amplifikation Caliburn is in The Shop

Hey Dimi, speaking for myself, I would really prefer if you made all your patched *before* you released the device and added them in the RE Caliburn folder. I hate downloading and filing individual patches...so do I have to follow this thread forever to get updated patches? Why not update the RE? M...

I think it's bi-polar. you can use the rules. and you can break them.

things go in waves. we need plus an minus. all the time.

it's all good if it's good for you.

Re: You don’t have to do it like that

I don't agree with the sentiment because it blurs the line between art and craft. Art is just a creative activity that a monkey can do but craft requires skill which utilizes fine technique. Why not have both? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with craft. But there are no rules, that's what I w...

You don’t have to do it like that

You don’t need to master your songs, You don’t need to pan the vocals to the center, You don’t need a lot of bottom end, You don’t need to remove unwanted noise, You don’t need to use the “best” compressor, You don’t need to try to impress me, You don’t need to use complex words, chords, et cetera, ...
