Re: The myth of guitar speaker distortion

I love bass players. They can totally change the tonality and groove of music. "Change the tonality" - thats the thing. Because they have the fundamental root note with the most energy in their hands all other notes "pull" towards that tonal center. Meaning if everything is in tune but the bass is ...

I've never read a manual in my life man. I'll pass. This will help somebody. I couldn't even get the tuner to pop up. Thanks anyways man
The tuner is build in the audio-meter of the track lane.

Re: The myth of guitar speaker distortion

This might be OT, but i would strongly recommend to read tech notes (page 12-13) from this manual. This is the manual of Egnater Rebel tube amps - absolutely the best tube amp i've ever owned in all aspects. Bruce Egnater is a real genius and these tech notes are a must read for any guitarist (conv...

Re: Is there a tuner rack extension for Reason?

Simply select Rec Source on the device you want to tune and you can use that Source as input for an audio track and use the tuner. Screen Shot 2018-06-21 at 09.06.56.png So you're saying I can tune an 808 sample this way? Could you post a video of you doing this? I've quickly made this: https://www...

Re: Is there a tuner rack extension for Reason?

Don't understand why we need a tuner when we already have a tuner in Reason. Let me tell you why than you can respond if you want. I don't play guitar. I stated this early. It seems like a majority of people on this forum play guitar. I was asking a simple question. The tuner would allow me to tune...

Re: What headphones to get

I think in-ear are better than closed headphones. the leakage of closed is much higher.

the HD600 are super open sounding, and leaking like crazy. if the ATH E70 can achieve the same openness in a closed concept it will be a mind blow.

route the output to the input of an audio track and you can use the tuner on that channel. super easy.

was Norman referring to these in-ears: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/earbuds-headphone-stereo-passive-noise-reduction-ie-4 ? don't know them but might wanna check them out :) I asked about those ~ see a few comments back. In short, they are good, but there are value for the money, more professional ...

Re: What headphones to get

What I have noticed over so many years: the midrange of most headphones are the real issue. In all the test, they talk about high and lows, but almost never about the midrange. This is strange because the midrange is the most important range for our ears. And the differences between speakers and he...

Re: Using Saturation instead of Compressor (vid)

I discovered this myself, not even such a long time ago. I feel a bit silly to discover that this is more or less common knowledge. On the other hand it is nice to discover these things in a naif way, just but experimentation and making mistakes, all by myself. This is how I discovered many things a...

Re: RND Generator Randomizer from Lectric Panda

I guess the players work as live devices, would be cool though if players could also read from the sequencer. Erm...they can read from the sequencer, or to be precise, they just receive note informations from somewhere...or do you mean something else? It works as live input. Can’t read ahead.

Timing? In both directions?
They can only effect what has happened, there isn't any access to future events.

Re: RND Generator Randomizer from Lectric Panda

I would love the ability to randomize all parameters of a device though the player interface, but unfortunately thats not possible. What is possible is the modification of midi notes, and the generation of midi notes. note values, timing, velocity. interesting! I always love to add randomness on ti...

Re: Using Saturation instead of Compressor (vid)

Reason's peak compressor distorts like crazy as well. I think it's a Reason irregularity which can sound cool but it's a bug because it wasn't part of the SSL if I am correct. Although I always thought it was since peak compression sound like "shopping head of" turning sines into squares. I think i...

Re: Using Saturation instead of Compressor (vid)

weird thing though: when overdriving sine waves you turn the nice sounding since waves into squarewaves. this never sounds like compression to me. I know the distortion is the result of the overdriving the signal, but it doesn't always sounds like compression though. often the tone becomes MORE agg...
