Re: "The Operation could not be completed because the format is not supported."
Nothing wrong with the SSD or the copy from my external SSD. Reason Studios cannot open the file either. This is a serious bug I've reported and Reason Studios is looking into it, but have not found a way to open the file.

Normal version 12.7d2. Reason Studios is aware of my issues. Tried a newer beta but no luck.

"The Operation could not be completed because the format is not supported."
When I open a song that I am working on, Reason gives me this error message: https://melodiefabriek.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Schermafbeelding-2023-11-17-om-17.12.12.png It is a song I am working on for a client. I can no longer open older versions of the track too. I've contacted Reason Studio...

Re: Does age matter?
it is the way they dance. don't blaim them, it's good that they do it. you better dance than sit down. but it doesn't look good to me.
I love Brazilian music. and these people can dance in an esthetic way.
love going to modern dance as well. I love dance. good dancing creates tears in my eyes.

Re: Does age matter?
One thing that annoys me also: playing while old people are dancing. Sure, it is lovely that people are dancing which is a nice way to life. But most people are dancing so old and annoying I don't want to see it. Dutch musician Henny Vrienten, which I worked with (great guy!), stopped playing live w...

Yes, it's hard to maintain a band when you grow older which is not super successful. And hard to start a new one. I wanted to start a new band and was not able to do so. Maybe one day...

Re: AI - Cheating or just evolution?
I love the new AI tools for sound like Adobe Vocal Enhance, Goyo plugin and Hush. The power of these tools is that they don't see sound as an abstract thing, frequencies and loudness, but they actually listen to what the human voice says/sings. So there's context which was never before available.

Re: It was 20 years ago today…
I saw people try out Reason in Rock Palace, a local music shop here in The Hague, The Netherlands. I'd read about it in Sound On Sound magazine. It looks nice and simple to use. Back home I decided to download the demo version. It did lock out every 10 minutes or some, I believe. I was impressed by ...

Re: best vocal booth on a budget?
Back in the day they did less editing. Yeah, it's amazing how much noise and imperfection you hear in old recordings. Even in stuff as highly regarded as the Beatles music. It's full of stuff that wasn't really supposed to be there. Sounds very human. Modern music sounds very sterile and generic in...

Re: Complex-1 Shaper
Only bummer: it needs oversampling. From the manual "Boasting a 4x oversampled synthesis engine, a freely routable signal and modulation path and a sound like nothing else, Complex-1 is a synth lover's dream machine." But my ears are telling me: the overdrive section is not oversampled.

Re: best vocal booth on a budget?
There’s one thing the booth is perfect for: blocking sounds that come in from the outside. Street noises and things like that. Is that your goal?
Must say modern software is also great for blocking these noises. Adobe Vocal Enhance for example can feel like magic.

Re: best vocal booth on a budget?
I made a booth that I only use when someone needs to do a voice-over for a podcast. It is made of wood and has no door, just two heavy curtains. I must say it is only useful for super in-your-face voice-overs, for singing I prefer to just sing in the room (a little room reverb is very nice to have)....

What I found about foam: if they catch sunlight they are going to pulverise. You will find dust one day. Maybe these micro fibers are also bad for your lungs. Cork is cool and useful because it looks great and you can spike some stuff to it. I also love just have lots of books around me and this hel...

Very interesting. Never know about pre and post EQ. I only use phase invert on saturation often (learned this from Tchad Blake). looking forward to your Combi. Complex-1 is great for saturation.

Re: Softube's new MiniMoog emulation - Model 72
would love to hear an A/B compare with The Legend I spent an hour this morning making patches in both The Legend and Model 72, running them side-by-side... and my instant reaction was... The Legend sounded more "digital" "hard" "snappy" ... whereas the M72 sounded more "analogue" "warm" "creamy". T...

Re: ReCycle 3.0 - It's time for an update
Compared to Ableton Live's algorithms RX2-loops are better imo for rhythmic loops.
Would be cool though if RS would design a new loop device, able to read RX2 but also allows you to time-stretch and export wav files in all sorts of ways. Dr.Octo Loop.
