A couple simple troubleshooting steps are to first make sure your Authorizer is up to date. I think it's up to v2.8 now. Also try disabling your antivirus. Some antivirus apps like Avast have been known to detect false positives with RE downloads.

I'd pick the producer over the xtouch too. The xtouch is just too small for serious work and I hate having to flip through fader banks when trying to mix.

The producer's also handy if you want to hook up multiple audio channels from external gear.

I just had the exact same thing happen to me. Turned out to be a bad RE (Pulsar Dual LFO). Reason would open fine with it uninstalled, but would have the Bad Format error whenever it was installed. That guy's mic isn't even plugged into the miniak so it's probably not being vocoded on that keyboard. It's more likely being processed off-stage or at another keyboardist's rig. It's a two-layer performance though. Autotune and vocoder. Best way to emulate it would be to use chords from any midi c...

I would suspect the most likely cause would be some sort of bottleneck between the Mac and the Apogee. It's connected with Thunderbolt, right? Are there any other devices hubbed or chained to it? Have you tried a different cable? Also check your Mac to see how many other apps or processes are runnin...

I'd like some more mastering chain extensions. The current maximisers are ok, but I still prefer using Waves L2 or L3 in another host. Same goes for enhancers. I use the BBE Sonic Maximiser regularly, and the other enhancer REs currently in the shop can't really match what it can do.

I have 3 24" 1080p monitors. One for each window (Rack, Sequencer & Mixer). Total resolution is 5760x1080p. Very happy with this setup, although I kinda wish I had more height for the mixer.

Oooh I used to have one of these in mint condition. I had to sell it to buy a DSLR and I let it go for an absolute steal (AU$300 - £150), which I regret.
