I also noticed the same thing with an m1 mba... it seem to be more frequent with vsts than with RE/built in devices, the only thing that seemed to make a difference in my case was disabling multi core and multi threading ... that way i get really good performance, but can only do so much with a sing...

I've been using a i7-4790 PC I built a few years ago... It was loaded at the time and still holds really well today. I also use a Lenovo X1 Carbon 6 for travelling. They both run fine for my needs and haven't maxed them out yet... prior to that I used Macbook Pros... PCs offer more bang for your buc...

I guess i don't know what im missing obviously, but, i think the Reason sequencer is pretty damn good! Same here, I specially like Reason's Piano Roll.... I've tried all the major DAWs (except cubase) and I like the Reason the best, even before the 11 improvements... I started on FL Studio a millio...

I love v-station... it's got that classic early 2000's trancy vibe... b-station is not as useful to me... both plugins are reaaaally long in the tooth though, it is kinda ironic that my main gripe with them is that their GUI is too small... I mean i know we complain about the reason gui being ridicu...

I quite like the sequencer... I prefer it over Live, FL and Logic. I just wish it had a few more features... like track grouping, curves in automation or highlighting which notes are being played on midi controller..
