[Guitar Rock - Heavy(ish)] -- Beast Trip
Nice little ditty, liked the drums a lot, the synths and the guitar processing (agree about the upfrontness). Flows really well Hopefully, you'll get someone to sing on it via Discover ?

Whoa! This is great Matt. Great sound and processing, so much to listen to and admire. Had me thinking of ACDC in parts and the drums kind of had an 80s feel. I really liked it, really good!

Oh oh... this looks nice, just watched the videos, I'm going to have to Try this! Congrats DLD! I recently got Snakebite and Speak n Tweak and love them both. This looks like another innovative and useful RE.

Bouncing to REX File Sounds Yucky
Hi Jon, I haven't read all of this thread but to lead on from the last post you could try setting your markers at whatever reasonable intervals will allow whatever benefits you are seeking from the REX format (if your audio doesn't have much of a rhythm, the automatically generated markers are a "bi...

I have the De-Esser and it's great.
As for the lisped vocals have you tried the DQ RE? Maybe you'll beable to isolate the lisp band(s) with that and compress them down enough?

should I buy a Scarlett 2i2?
I've got one and it does what I want of it. The inputs are a bit "hot" though. So for guitar I have to have Gain all the way down most of the time. It hasn't really been an issue for me but if you use active circuitry or some pre-processing maybe it could be? For basic needs it's fine but when I get...

On reflection I think the Props made a good move. It was a shame to cull rather than preserve the forum but some good stuff has been saved. I don't care about the design of the props site, I'm not blown away by the new one but it's no worse really IMO. I hope that their resources are now freed up a ...

tiny BYPASS/On/Off selector, share you cure
Hi guys, One of the most frequently used controls in Combinator and other devices. But its atomic size and length of a step makes me think twice before using it. Who's got solutions developed? What worked for me so far: Edit remote override mapping. Works fine. But it takes efforts to re-zero this...

Glad to hear you've been without the beer for a week or so Peter. Booze throws my creativity out of the window for a good few days afterwards. I think I hadn't had a drink in about 3 weeks when I wrote my best song, and I feel pretty sure that was a big part of it. As for the depression, if you're n...

Time ticks slowly here, Jump up there, it's faster I hear Time has run out for me, One too many beats of my heart you see Now I am nothing but mush, They crowd around my headstone and push The reason is that they can still see, All that I left behind, they want to be me If they knew the loneliness a...

love the spacey vibe......but all that physics stuff goes way over my head  :) .....great track! Thank you! Well, it does mine too past a certain level. Stressless( vocal by abigailbernadette)
Love the guitar and flute (?)... Very nice vocal, she has a very soulful voice. Seems there's a quite high noise level but that's not surprising if things might have been recorded on a phone (amazing really, when you think about it). Stressless indeed. Very soothing. I enjoyed it.

Understanding loudness, LUFS and R128 (using Measure RE)
Hi Giles, can you explain practically how you achieve getting that crest factor? Or is there a bit in the manual I can look up? Or is it as simple as comparing the peak and VU levels and aiming for 12dB diff? Thanks.

Hi, I understand you wanting some way of working to and I'm the same, I do like to be able to use a "numbers" system to work to and have a few things that I work to/with now. But Selig's right really, it probably is best to use your ears and a reference and it sounds like you're doing ok anyway. Jus...

Thanks John. I wish I had the brains and knowledge to truly understand (mathematically) modern physics and cosmology but I don't :frown: I love reading layman books though :) But as much as it blows my mind to wonder at the possibility of 11 dimensions, multiple universes and only 4% of our universe...

Heh heh alright, thanks for the compliment. Part of my thinking is that if I do the original set 1st then that 'practice' album songs might never get reworked into an album. But maybe I'm best just to go with the best quality straight away. I appreciate your plain speaking whatever I decide to do

At the risk of seeming self-indulgent/egotistical, I'm thinking that I might do a "practice" album 1st as it will be a learning curve in some ways. I might cut Winter's End and Delusions of Grandeur from the list above (leaving 12 tracks which I think makes that album more compact and ups the averag...

I just watched the video. Wow, this thing really is well thought out and impressive! Just one thing I couldn't pick up from the video (prob just me being dumb)... I usually do it because I want to make sounds, explore their relationships, in short I mainly want to make sounds/music that excites/interests me. It amazes me what can be done with Reason now. Sometimes it's more about the interplay of sounds with each other (i.e. composition), sometimes it's more ...
