Re: Matching audio to tempo
You can do it the other way around by matching the tempo to the fluctuating wave-file tempo instead of stretching the wavefile. It's a bit of a job, but it works quite well. Create an automationlane on tempotrack. Choose the approx tempo (113 in this case) and then adjus the tempo in the automationl...

Re: Can Combinator do this?
You can make key-switch setups using Thor as switching device using the two buttons and assign them to a key. Then route the buttons to cv out. With those cv-signals you switch on-off receive notes in your combinator.

Re: about the attack stage of ADSR
As EdGrip already wrote, you need an envelope with multiple Attackstages. Thor only has traditional ADSR envelopes. But...you can modulate the attackcurve in the mod bus. So you can experiment making a modulated attack-curve, for example by using another envelop.

I still use Thor as my main device. I think it's still one of the best designed softsynth's out there.

If you don't have to play full chords, I suggest to try Neptune. It can pitchbend audio.

Try Grain, you can do pretty cool stuff with that.

Re: Synth sound replicate?
I wouls try to use increasing FM. I tried a patch with Thor. You can tweak both, the FM amount and the filter. The fatness of the sound you can create with the filterdrive. The rising in time I did with the curve of the internal sequencer of Thor, but that is rather rough. You better automate the pa...

You go to the rack. Rightclick on the mastersection and choose create track for mastersection. After that you can make automationlanes for all parameters of the mastertrack

If the audio is a kind of monophonic you can try Neptune.

Re: Strange new midi issue
I once had similar issues with my Nordstage. In my case it was caused by local on/of settings. It seemed to mirror notes in a way.
I don't know exactly anymore, because it is quit some time ago.

Re: Emulating Keyswitch Behaviour (possible Player RE idea?)
Using a combinator you can switch on/off receivenotes with CV input. you can use the Thor modmatrix to setup. Asigning a key to one of the buttons. Route that button to CV out and then CV-out to the particular CV-in on the combinator.

Indeed try to use an NNXT or NN19. Those samplers tune the samples to the key. Uncheck the 'receive notes' option of the sampler in the combi. That should do the trick.

Re: Thor, how to recall matrix settings only?
Oh I see, I thought you wanted to tweak around with various settings in one patch. But indeed; the mod-bus settings are an integral part of a Thor-patch so they change when choosing a new patch.

Re: Thor, how to recall matrix settings only?
Hi Owlis, I'm not sure if I understood correctly what you are after. But If you want to maintain the settings in the modmatrix and tweak through all type of oscs's and filters, you can host the Thor in a combinator. In the combinator you can assign the controls (CV, Rotary and Knobs) to almost any p...

Re: sync tempo of 2 out of time guitars
I should make a tempo-track, and adjust the tempo-variations of one guitartrack (by hand).
After that, I should quantize the other track.
You can also try to quantize both tracks, but my experience with doing so is that it is harder to get both track synced to each other.

Re: Attenuating aftertouch with attack and release?
To soften the aftertouch you can do different things. First of all in the modulationbus, you can scale the aftertouch (as source) by itself (aftertouch as scaleparameter). Doing this will create more exponential-like curves in stead of a linear curve, when pressing teh aftertouch. Furthermore you ca...

Re: how do i make a slide note
As said you can try with portamento. You also can try with envelopes routing to the pitch and preserve polyphony. The mod-env has pitch-routing option. On the frontside you have to choose between osc 1 or 2, which gives very interesting sounds. But you also can choose to route it with CV to pitch on...

Re: edited: (where can i find SYNC on a subtractor? is the main question)
Subtractor does not have the sync-option. in the way you can sync two oscillators so that the offset of the synced oscillator is always slaved to the start of the phase of oscillator one. The sound that creates the biting sweeps like on Prophet synths. Thor prrovides this sync-option. You can syn os...

Re: ADSR with a bit of help
Hi, You can achieve a rising of volume (or opening filter) from the sustainlevel with envelopes in Thor. If you want the volume to rise after some time the key is pressed (when it reached the sustain stage) you can route the mod envelope also to (amp)gain. Set the attack time to about 3 or 4 seconds...

Re: Synth expert help needed - distinguish which synth to use?
First of all, the synths you mention all have strength in their own right. Subtractor is combines a powerfull synth, with a pretty simple architecture and UI. Because it is the oldest synth in the rack, absolutely doesn't mean that it is out dated imho. Subtractor sometimes use to make patches very ...
