Re: Summer Bash Sale (slowly emerging)

In looking for those bundles I stumbled across the Sugar Bytes RE bundle: https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/bundle/sb-re-bundle/ It's sort of the opposite of a sale because it costs money but seems to have no RE's in it. I'm almost tempted to buy it and see what happens.... almost  It represe...

Re: Chord Sequencer: am I using it wrong?

I am not sure if there is a way of using it right. I wanted to like this player, but it is very strange and quirky. You cannot just pick a key and find the chords that would work with it. Instead the presets have strange names like Baroque Nouveax.

Definitely worth the $50, but it is going to eat a lot of hard drive space. Here is a helpful review I found. https://gearspace.com/board/reviews/106 ... d-3-a.html

The variations cannot be automated, which seems like a lost opportunity.

I have VSTs based on this idea, but this player would be much more useful and interesting with better automation and modulation possibilities. I will keep an eye on how this develops.

They should have just grandfathered in their current subscribers. It would have saved them a lot of hurt feelings. I can't imagine they are selling too many of these add ons right now. I am a current subscriber myself and have always hated their 'give us money and we will tell you later what you get...

Re: Compressors RE/VST - Your Favourites?

I get a lot of great results with Elevate, though it is probably more of a limiter than compressor. I use it mostly for mastering, but it works nicely on individual instruments, too.

I suggest you read my post again. I quoted you exactly, and my comment is self-explanatory. The guy was being a hell of a lot more helpful than you have been so far on this thread. Replying with BS whether he was right or wrong could be interpreted as being downright unfriendly and unnecessarily co...

Re: Obsession vs all the other ones.

Cool. Thanks. So the RE doesn’t have the morphing function? The patch Genetics functionality is part of the patch browser, which the RE doesn't have. You can morph between two settings, but it doesn’t create a new unique sound that you can easily save. BS. Obsession Genetics.png Please explain why ...

Re: Obsession vs all the other ones.

You can morph between two settings, but it doesn’t create a new unique sound that you can easily save. It does sound really good. I think you have to be a fan of the specific Oberheim vibe to love the RE, while I find the VST opens up more possibilities.

Re: Obsession vs all the other ones.

I bought the RE on sale and like it enough. It doesn’t sound much different or better than the other emulations, though it is still really good sounding. What made the difference was then getting the VST for free. The VST has the same kind of preset morphing system as Dune 3. I was able to get some ...

Re: Reason Financials 2021

I have been using Reason since version 2 and am a subscriber now. I like it still and use it fairly regularly. I think a problem is when old people think modular they relate to Reason. When young people think modular they think Eurorack. Reason feels super nostalgiac to me, not cool or up to date, w...

Re: IKM Syntronik 2 Group Buy $/€ 50

These synths sound really good, and the newest ones come with a lot more ways to edit the sounds than the originals. The biggest downside is that these are really romplers with extra functionality, so they take a lot of hard drive space, but if you have the room, they are really worth it.

Re: VCV Rack 2 - released

Not really. It is based on the Eurorack. A paid VST version came out today and you could probably put it in a combinator. I hope they add something like the Combi2. VCV can quickly become very complicated and it would be nice to hide parts of it. Shouldn't be too difficult since they have templates...
