Re: What is the first album you ever bought?
The first album I bought (when I was about 10 years old) was the KISS debut album, self titled "KISS", after my parents bought me a stereo record player with the Dynasty album. The record player was one of those small plastic things with 2 small plastic speakers that doubled as cover for the player....

I am sorry, seriously
I overreacted on a post about some guy asking how samples worked. Some guy (I honestly can't be arsed to look back on who exactly he was) totally blew my fuse on an alcohol fueled night and it set me off into hell mode. Sorry about that. I would like to stick around for the love of Reason, even thou...

Re: Samplers play samples unwanted faster the more higher the notes are.
I'd like to think after all these years we have learned how to act appropriately, but I'm more pragmatic these days. So I'll simply issue a warning to all parties - be civil or be gone. That is all. Selig, you've known me longer than today. You know I don't sugarcoat shit. But just read the thread a...

The drivers are great, the sound quality isn't quite as good. (I too have the saffire 14 pro) LSS Profire 610: Great sound, dodgy drivers, 10ms in/out Focusrite 14: Not bad, not great sound, really decent drivers, 9ms in/out RME babyface pro: Great sound, fab drivers, 7ms in/out. It is what it is. ...

This is not about timestretching, this is explaining why a sampler behaves like it does. Fucking duh. Lol-young phasys -- how about you explain and share part of your infinate wisdom on the subject? Different samplers do different things..right? Please. Re: Love for Focusrite Saffire with Reason
Is that the Saffire PRO14 that you're using now? I got that one myself, very happy with it, and yes the loopback works great. I just had to get a different FW card with my new PC because the onboard FW was VIA chips (which suck), so I ordered a dual TI chip FW card straight from China and now it wor...

Re: Samplers play samples unwanted faster the more higher the notes are.
You play the sample faster, the intervals between waves (which is speaker movement) gets smaller, so the pitch goes up. Fucking simple really. Not so really. Realtime pitching and timestretching can be an extremely complex operation in many ways. There's absolutely 0 :re:ason why a sample can't be ...

Re: Samplers play samples unwanted faster the more higher the notes are.
It's quite easy really. Explain that the pitch goes up BECAUSE the sample is played faster :P o_O That would be using what OP experienced as an explanation for what he experienced... No. Absolutely not. Unless you have problems with the word "because". Or cause and effect. You play the sample faste...

Re: Samplers play samples unwanted faster the more higher the notes are.
The only flaw was that you didn't explain why the speed is affected when you change the pitch in a sample. It's like playing a record. So when the record plays faster the sounds increases in pitch. But how do you explain this to someone who grew up in the MP3 age? It's like playing a tape. So when ...

Hardcore Reason user since ver. 5 and now with 8.3 I do a lot of creative work in Reason and always appreciate all the devices and the many special features it has. Re: Leap Motion
Leap can be used for controlling devices but from what I have heard is a bit finicky in the way it detects and interprets the motion (the detection area is not that big etc). So a lot of tweaking would be required and care and thought in where and how to apply it. Would be kind of cool to use it to...
