Re: Announcing Reason 13

ppl make music, features don't. The amount of times my creativity has been stopped in it's tracks by not being able to carry on due to a missing feature though, one that immediately springs to mind is not being able to audition a sample in the browser in tempo with the track or being able to 'fit t...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

Wait, don't they stop supporting the previous version once a point update is done? Not like ver.12 fixes are gonna come into play down the line once 13 is released? I never understand this question I hear a lot. So you want an update to Reason 12.4 when we've moved past 12.4 and on say 13? New feat...

I respect their current work, but I'm simply not impressed any longer.
They call the sequencer update hefty, so I guess there are still some nice features to be revealed.
Hope so. 👍

What's his channel on You Tube called as non of the linked video's here work now, he's deleted the video's. Tried searching on You Tube, "Rob Barnett Reason" and nothing. Looked it up for you. They reuploaded it. You'd think they did so because they realized the mistake? No. Still makes no sense. 😂...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

This is a picture I took of what I was talking about with Reaper, not just shortening / lengthening notes but you can lengthen the beginning of a note after at the same time as shortening the end of a note, the pic shows it on an item (clip) here but works on notes in the midi editor too if they're ...

LoL I always knew he is an neutral network I'm a bit concerned now, as I started following his updates a few months ago and thought he seemed very switched-on. I now worry that he actually has no idea what he' talking about and think I probably shouldn't put too much trust any other news from him. ...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

Because they lost the original code and for years now, they can only move things around, change colors and fonts maybe and obviously add things, but they can't change things in the original code. I'm ok with just adding thing, so please add vst midi out. Tx M are this facts? how can they lose...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

I still wonder why the pianoroll doesn't get a graphic refresher. How can they make such beautiful racks but hesitate to make the piano roll a little prettier? Thought that for years, something like the Korg M1 piano graphic would be good but obviously the right way round. f72f53c896d364531ee9821a6...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

It's funny while I had Bitwig they didn't release anything interesting, then my plan expired and I had to pay again to get some minor stuff so I just sold it. I really dislike that licensing model, I'd rather have less releases when they are ready and with a pricing structure that makes sense (ie: ...

Yes we have Scales & Chords RE though I would appreciate that feature baked into the piano roll myself. I also use scales & chords and I appreciate it, but it is less practical in certain cases than having the function directly integrated into the pianoroll (I hope that it will come one day and Rea...

Re: Announcing Reason 13

I looked it up, and it appears that Reason's browser was changed to what it is currently in R9, Nope - the redesign dumping the original window pop-up browser was in Reason 8, almost a decade ago. The later versions just tweaked it. Reason 13 is sort of a return to that pop-up window, but it's far ...

Markers seems like very low hanging fruit, not sure why they've not been added?
Yeah and another really easily implementable feature and very handy / useful one, a slice by song position pointer shortcut.

Re: Announcing Reason 13

You didn't explain this very well but linked clips has been a feature I've wanted for 10 years, it's absolutely baffling anyone would not want this feature and blocks isn't the same thing before anyone states that. Linked clips is basically having say for example, a 4 chord progression in a clip an...

Awesome, finally some workflow improvements! But, do you think there is hope for linked clips finally? In terms of workflow, this has always been my biggest creative brake. For example: Edit the first clip, delete the following 3 clips and then the following 4 clips after a gap, then copy the first...

I can't imagine what it must be like to be a software PM and dealing with people's constant negativity. No matter what you do, there will always be someone there to complain about it. Graphics Card

Hi All!

How essential is a decent graphics card if you're not gaming on your computer? About 2 months ago my one packed up so need another.

I'm obviously gonna just be opening vst's and running Reaper with the RRP etc.

Thanks!

If you have a sequencer that can handle MIDI SysEx data then it should be pretty simple:

Not sure about that, would Reaper do it, wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Korg M1, installing factory sounds

Hi All!

Someone has a Korg M1 going cheap but apparently they did a factory reset and there's no sounds on it. Can these be installed online somehow, if so, how hard is it and how true to the original would they be soundwise?

Thanks!

Re: Hardware Production Question

Ahh good point. So say back in 1990, could the filter cut off be controlled in say Octamed on an Amiga computer? Just checked, and indeed OctaMed had MIDI support, but I don't know if that went any further than sequencing notes (I never had an Amiga). Around that time (I think) I was running Cubase...

That depends on if you have a sequencer running for the track (hardware or software) and if the synthesizer in question can be controlled by that sequencer (with either MIDI or CV).
