Re: Just bought Pump RE
So annoyed they ended the sale price before the end of May Madness. I had just gotten the demo and decided to buy it. When I went back to the shop, it was full price again. Wtf? Why would they do that?

Re: Drum Synth REs?
ohhhhh....someone should turn the Machinedrum synth engines to a rack extension. since they are not analog but digital it would be possible. now that would be awesome. That would be amazing! I kinda wish I had bought one when they were being cleared out for $599. Oh well. I have a little Korg ER-1 ...

Re: Drum Synth REs?
Yeah, of course regular synths are capable of drum/percussion sounds. It's just better/easier using purpose built tools for some things. For instance, snappy envelopes designs for quick punchy drum sounds. With the sampling capability in RE now, hopefully well at least start to see some drum sample...

Re: I'm looking for a extension that sounds most like Nord Lead A1?
I used to have a Nord Lead A1. Great synth. Antidote is probably the closest thing to it. I actually sold the Nord because of how good Antidote is. The Nord sounded a little bit smoother and each one can do some things the other can't. But the convenience of Antidote counts for a lot. I miss having ...

Drum Synth REs?
I've been demoing the EDS06s (catchy name). It's pretty minimal and a little quirky, but it's cool. I'll probably buy it. It makes me wonder why there haven't been more drum synth REs. There are tons of regular synths, but not very many drum focused REs in the shop. I'd love to have something like M...

Re: Radical Piano technology
I want to like Radical Piano. It seems to have potential. But it always seems to have this plinky sound in the upper mids that I can't get past. Like it's always got a bit of ragtime sound to it.

Re: my new setup
Congrats, man; that's a great setup! I've got the same iMac, just with smaller SSD and M395, and I absolutely love it. My only complaint is that Reason doesn't seem to be very optimized on Sierra. Encountering unusually high CPU usage. But Props has told me that they are aware of the issue and are w...

Re: new macbook air good for reason 8.3 ?
A little update: I got a response from Propellerhead. At least they are aware of and acknowledging the issue. Thanks for your message in such detail and sorry to hear of this We are aware of some performance issues on El Capitan and Sierra, and I can assure you we are in contact with Apple regarding...

Re: new macbook air good for reason 8.3 ?
Ha! kHs ONE is actually one of the more efficient RE synths for me. I guess it depends what you are doing with any synth. But things are pretty inefficient in Reason on Mac in general right now. Really? That is weird. I can open up one instance of kHs One, play some extended chords and I'm already ...

Re: new macbook air good for reason 8.3 ?
Ok so I've ventured into Garageband on the Air and installed Zebra and Diva it is incredibly more efficient. Even with using complex patches. Makes me feel better about the hardware and hopeful that maybe Reason can be improved for Mac. I shouldn't be chasing the software I prefer by dumping more m...

Re: new macbook air good for reason 8.3 ?
I recently got an Early 2015 13" MacBook Pro with the i5 when they went on sale. I really like it, but it definitely has some weirdness running Reason. I have it in low res mode and with just 6-8 tracks, a few REs, the CPU seems to jump pretty high (75%ish). Seems like it should be able to handle wa...

Re: How many of you ever watched a movie just for the soundtrack ?
I was JUST coming here to post about The Fountain. Definitely one of my favorite soundtracks ever. I love Mogwai too and thought it was pretty cool that they helped with some of it (the track "Stay With Me", I think).Catblack wrote:My favorite soundtrack, and one of my favorite films is The Fountain.

I am so not excited by this... Am i the only one.... Meh, doesn't really make a difference to me either. But that's okay; still early in the 9.x cycle...hopefully we'll see some more exciting updates. Really hoping they'll get on with updating the SDK...seems like it's been a long time since there ...

Re: Essential "rough mastering" before sharing a track for collaboration
I don't think there are any easy shortcuts when it comes to this kinda thing. Each track is going to need to be treated differently. So, finding a preset or something that you can slap on any song and instantly get good results is probably not very likely. However, if your mix is good, it shouldn't ...

Re: PMS-20 Glitch
Yes, I almost always set any automation to start early. There are a number of devices that 'catch' in a funny way if you set them to start at the first beat. The PMS misses that first hit completely and doesn't even register the automation until the second hit. I really hope they fix this. Until the...

Re: PMS-20 Glitch
I program an extra kik just before my main kik comes in and automate a mute on the mixer channel. So the filter is on the extra kik but you can't hear it not triggering if you see what I mean. The first hit is missed by the faulty filter but it doesn't matter because it's muted anyway. Does that ma...
