Re: SELIG!

My signal chain for vocals is almost always Selig's Gain > Leveler > DeEsser > FET > RE-2A > Effects. I find that the upwards compression that Leveler provides is perfect for pulling out the natural low volume vocal sounds of acoustic artists that helps give the track sound more raw. As Selig noted,...

Re: Fritz Granular Engine is in the Shop!

How does this compare to the Neuron RE? Is it similar in concept with more control, or is it a totally different monster all together?

Which McDSP compressor is a Fairchild? And are you following it with Cakewalk's RE-2A? I am a bit confused :-)

Re: Solaris on SALE £16 ! ;)

I am really really really really crossing my fingers Skrock puts the rest of the lineup on 50% off sale too (I'm looking at you Orbis and Aurora). They would be absolute insta-buys for me, I love the way Orbis looks and Aurora's demo tracks sound straight up my ally :-) Plus I have birthday money so...

My oh my! I have been eyeing this since it's launch and was hoping for a sale but no dice last PH sale. At $19 I think I am going to have to make that plunge right now, no trial needed, those demos sound killer!

Re: Izotope VocalSynth - Possible??

So as it sits, Vocal Synth is soooo clean and clear that it definitely has my eye on it and waiting for a sale. That being said, off the top of my head, there are a few REs that you could combine to get similar results - For the "Polyvox" section you could use Neptune turned to Vocal Synth (although...

Re: Spectre is in the Shop!

On the description of this RE it states "Shimmering, glassy reverb-like effects" but I did not hear that at all in any of the demos. Anyone have a short demo of it? I am always in the market for a Strymon Big Sky-sounding RE, and this is the only reason I am interested in it. Anyone have any opinion...

Re: Current Rack Extension Sales (updated July 6)

Anyone got any idea when the next significant sale is expected? I know we had May madness recently but Props usually has something pretty regular. Are they consistent in their sale scheduling? Anyone know? Thanks in advance. Usually they have an "End of Summer Sale" which if memory serves me correc...

Re: Vecto - Are people still using it?

I ended up getting Vecto, and all I can say is that it is a pad machine beast. I really enjoy the sounds, although I will be honest that many of the patches remind me a bit too much of the likes of a Korg Wavestation/super 90's sounding (which I am not a big fan of that "sound" myself). However, jus...

I have it. it's ok. The video demo of this Refill made it sound like pure Mr. Roger's Neighborhood magic. Did you find it to not put out that same vibe when you were playing it? I have definitely bought many a Refill to only find out that it really doesn't play as nice as the demos made the patches...

Re: Parsec vocoder help needed

Although I know that I asked about this in a different thread, here is what I did to at least hear the vocoder, I am still trying to figure out how to make it actually sound good though - 1) Create an audio channel, either record some vocals or keep the line active. 2) Create an instant of Parsec, a...

Neo Soul Keys Refill

Hey all! I have a question - Since GospelMusicians no longer sells and/or supports this product, would it then be fair to say that it is now to be classified as a "legacy" refill that is free since it only fully works well with Reason 6? I had never heard of this Refill until today and have been try...

I guess to clarify, I have my routing from my vocal channel going from "Direct Out" to the audio input of Parsec. My problem is making it sound "good" though. It sounds very... craptastic. Did you select 'Audio In' under one of the sound engines? That I did. I mean I hear the audio come through, it...

Alrighty, so I bought Parsec, but I have not been able to figure out how to use it like a vocoder :'( I have read the manual and it really didn't help to much... How do I set up Parsec to be used as a vocoder?

Kitten I have the synth with the update of course and i must tell you, its a different beast before the update as i haven't had time to make any music lately. I haven't tried the update version yet. Re: Parsec is now on sale, is it worth the buy?

I played around with the vocoder a bit today, and came away impressed. I always had trouble getting good results with the BV512, but I quickly got something usable with Parsec, just from a saw>square. I ended up with a sort of vaguely Vocaloid-esque result, sort of like the voice in Sad Machine by ...

Re: How in the world do I use Neutron like the demo??

I think there's a few keys to getting good sounds from neutron. You've got to use it as a send effect to preserve the fidelity of the source instrument. Then experiment with running it after a couple of reverbs or delays, and also adding a lo-fi plugin like the audiomatic or Resampler. This is how ...
