Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.
I didn't realise it would do the download in the background. I'll know for next time!

Deferred download of Humana, Drum Supply etc
Due to my glacial internet speeds (thanks Openreach!), when prompted to download Humana etc. on first startup, I skipped so that I could get straight into trying out Europa and Grain (which seem to be great additions). How do I go about now downloading the sample players and Drum Supply - I didn't s...

Re: So what are the first things you did/do with 9.5?
Introduced Arturia Synclavier to Synchronous and Garritan Personal Orchestra to Scales and Chords. Took snapshots of all VSTs and disabled some I'm not likely to use in Reason.
Next thing I'm likely to do is sort out a new default template.

Re: REASON 9.5 OUT NOW !!!
Reason 9.5, or 'Reason: Resurrection' as I've been referring to it has brought me back into the fold from S1 (at least temporarily) - really nice to bring all my favourite VSTs into that unique Reason environment which is always inspirational and fun to work in.

rsTouch 2.5.0 and Reason 8.2 unite to unleash Redrum!
Tried rsTouch, but never really made a habit of using it - this will make it much more useful to me.

What's your favourite Disney song?
There was a cool compilation many years back of Disney songs by more popular artists called "Stay Awake" (also a very cool Disney song IMO). The "cast" of characters covering these songs includes everyone from Natalie Merchant to Michael Stipe, from Aaron Nevelle to Yma Sumac, The Replacements to ...

PX-7 Operators Must Need Additive Waveforms( Title Edited )
You can derive the other waveforms from sine waves in FM. The real difference with having them predefined is that you do not need to use multiple operators in order to create them. To understand what you can achieve with PX7 you'd really need to deconstruct the patches in FM8 and understand where F...

I ? Reason, and The Beatles
Examining the stems of "Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite" reveals 3 mono tracks and 1 stereo track - totaling 5 tracks. Drums, Bass and vocals are indeed mono - but the track containing the harmonium, piano, organ and tape loops is stereo. The stereo track is not the product of added fx or haas - ...

To bring things back to 60s recordings. From 67-68 I'm also a big fan on The Moody Blues - 'In Search of the Lost Chord' and 'On the Threshold of a Dream' are great examples of the time; tend to be overlooked due to the fact that the Moody Blues only ever seem to be mentioned in relation to 'Nights...

It's interesting that the OP mentions backwards parts. In some respects it's actually easier on tape that in the DAW. Recording something in a DAW and reversing it is really easy, but for good backwards parts you need to record in the opposite direction to the rest of your track, so in a DAW you'...

I ? Reason, and The Beatles
I've always been a big Beatles fan. In my teens Sgt Peppers was a permanent fixture in my top 10 albums regardless of other fluctuations in my taste. Nowadays I prefer Revolver - it's where all the techniques used in Sgt Peppers were devised and to me the songwriting is better. Sgt Pepper would ...

FAWM 2015
I used to do a lot of house and techno which was strictly for dj sport, and thus needed spare beats both leading and trailing - I could comfortably have done 35 mins inside 5 or 6 songs! Could get as low as 4 if I put my mind to it. :D I'm sure there must have been some prog-rockers in RPM who've j...

it is here, go look at Props website now !!!!!!!!!
Why do Props feel that alienating a lot of us older users and Reason evangelists, by targetting a largely at best a largely non-existent demographic and at worst an entirely made-up one, is constructive? Why do some older users assume that there is a non-existent demographic or entirely made up dem...

Mattias is starting to talk about the PUF closing
The "R8 was the most successful" amuses me a little. It's a bit like album sales - the current sales are in large part due to the reputation generated by the last release. If R8 has had lot of sales and upgrades it will largely be due to peoples expectation based on 7 and prior. Let's see what 8.5...

FAWM 2015
FAWM is about writing 14 new songs during February. As it is essentially a personal challenge, that is open to interpretation. A song can be a set of lyrics, an instrumental or a complete song - generally people aim for a rough demo. There's normally quite a few people who are lyricists only and ...

I've done FAWM and 50/90 a few times. It's a great community. I'll watch out for you when the FAWM site reopens. I'm not sure whether I could add anything in a collaboration - most people on here seem to be far ahead of me in musicianship and production skills - but under FAWM conditions, who kn...

I normally start the year by looking at the various 'best albums' lists that are floating around for albums from the previous year. One album that has particularly caught my attention recently is 'Preternaturals' by Grumbling Fur. This is 'All the Rays' ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em-0g9r3AB...

Very glad to see a new Reason forum set up - whatever Props may think, none of the 'social media' formats support real discussion as well as a forum does.
Thanks to all involved in the running of this new site for giving the PUF diaspora a new home.
