Re: Grain Discussion Thread

Some predetermined CV ports would be really, really helpful, because I've found that 8 mod matrix slots are often just enough to use up when programming a Europa patch, so there's not necessarily going to be any room left to do the custom CV routing that's wanted. A few more mod matrix pages and so...

Re: Expanse 3.0 Public Beta

Yeah I mean now it has drawable (and morphable) tables it's very heavily into Europa territory, minus the spectral filtering. You know what'd really rock? Partial modifiers. Kinda like on Noxious or Parsec 2. Although I realise that's a huge ask and tbh I don't know if there's even room on the inte...

Re: eXpanse , Serum , Europa and ReSpire modulations functions

I agree the partials of Expanse are awesome - pitching down oscillators with loads of partials makes for very rich sounds. Regarding your sounddesign idea, I think the Lowpass filter modifier comes close. That dampens the higher harmonics. You can track the LPF amount by note in the modmatrix. Edit...

Re: Synapse The Legend Synthesizer is in the Shop

Here's a fun little experiment: I converted a Legend filter sweep to a Serum-style (2048 frames/cycle) wavetable (with a tool I wrote today) and replayed it with UVI Falcon: Idc7Axky No additional filters were used, just a delay (in the 2nd part) and a tiny bit of reverb (via Synapse Deep Reverb). ...

Re: eXpanse , Serum , Europa and ReSpire modulations functions

One thing that is unique for eXpanse among these synths is the harmonic multiplier/partial editor, since it operates from the osc wavefom and not just sines like traditional additive synths. You can also set the mods to operate per partial (PRE) or on the final waveform after (POST). +1 to the harm...

Where in that video do they show the ability to draw your own waveforms?
If I'm not mistaken, envelope 3 & 4 curves can be used as a waveform generators: you basically draw an envelope and it can be used as a oscillator waveform...

Re: Choosing a synth...

Among what the others have already said, I would suggest (if you are new to synthesizers in general) to get some good books/tutorial and focus on the basic structure of a synth, I mean to learn the concepts behind it and what each of its components really does in order to get "the big picture". For ...

Re: Respire just got better

Yeah ReSpire is getting better, probably the nicest fast-sounding envelopes in the rack, really really snappy and punchy! Also when using the x-comp it shows a really round, tight and solid low end. A real pleasure for the ears. Here's a couple of audio snippet I made today while I was having fun wi...

Re: Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer (Tread)

One thing though; I feel that we should have one page more with envelopes. I mean, if you use 3-4 for drawing wavetables and another one for the filter, for example, you only have one left. If you really need this level of complexity (and I suppose it's not on a daily basis) then you could easily p...

Re: Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer (Tread)

The synth looks slick and sounds great indeed! I have a couple of question and I'm not sure if they have already been answered in the live video: - when you use the envelopes 3 & 4 as wavetable generators, are they still available as envelopes modulation sources? - when you use envelope 4 as spectra...

Re: Reason 10 announced!

Since Nostromo 2.0 came out, we've all got random vibes ;) But what Lectic Panda did so well is constraining the randomness to make it much easier to get usable results. It's really something I've never seen done so well before in a synth. Not sure if Propellerhead is up to that challenge ...

Re: Reason 10 announced!

In Europa, do you think it would be possible to add a tiny little dice button (on each oscillator) to generate a new random waveform? :) The fact you can draw your own wave, somehow makes me suddenly think about a random feature but I could be totally wrong! Thanks for the feedback! There are alrea...

Re: Reason 10 announced!

It has CV ins and outs, absolutely. An audio input to the spectral filter is not possible however, due to how the synth works. Dynamic wavetable means it generates wavetables on the fly based on your settings. The spectral filter is also generating that wavetable, so you can't route other audio in ...

Honestly all the patches came out almost "spontaneously" since Viking 2 is really really fun to use, among the fact it sounds great!
I hope the patches are decent enough for a synth of that league! :)

Re: Reason 10 announced!

Maybe a "content update only", however big it is, is not what you would expect from a "10" release, I can see that, BUT I agree with those who says that there's a lot of added value in this new version. As a previous owner of RadPi and Synchronous, I'm still very excited! I welcome the bigger factor...

Re: ReStereo - 2 stars in the shop - Is it really that bad?

Is it just a short reverb or what does it do exactly? Would impulse responses or early reflection settings on Tsar or Uhbik A give similar results? Those of you who own ReStereo or have tried it, is the low rating justified? Does anyone like it? I don't own it so I can't speak about how it sounds. ...
