Re: You know what the whole problem is nowadays about making music?
I had a great time once deciding that the default answer was 26. Any value I came across that I felt like changing I set to 26. It wasn't a hard and fast rule but it gave me a starting point. Wasn't bored because sometimes I would stubbornly choose to make it work some how and that gave me a challen...

Re: Looks like Reason Studios have redesigned their site...
I felt I should my voice my opinion to represent the silent majority. It's fine, whatever, as long as it does the job. I used to care about what was cool and edgy but now I just like things that work and don't take up too much of my time. As a website it remains functional so whatever.

Re: Subtractor/Maelstrom preset ID
Probably making a massive assumption but especially back in Reason 3 days the presets were just a starting point. Combinators were the big new thing and chances are whatever was loaded in didn't get saved that way.

Re: Color in Recycle and Make it Free
I remember when Recycle got its first gui overhaul. Had it then , didn't use it much, don't use it now. The only sort of person I imagine would consider this to be an essential tool would be people who are really into making Rex loop sample packs for sale as refills. I'm willing to bet there are les...

Re: Custom Studio Cables
Sounds like you've made up your mind and the 10 Van Damme Colours aren't to your liking. I'm glad you could get whatever it was you were bothered about off your chest but I'm a bit confused about what information you're actually seeking here. If you're using a balanced configuration you'll need 3 co...

I've been using Reason with people with special needs for a few years.
We should probably chat in private about what works and what doesn't.

Re: Latency requires breakout box audio card?
Yeah. ASIO Compliant audio interface is a pretty standard requirement for any DAW. This is pretty much due to Microsoft sleeping on it for years so it's not a standard Windows feature. Welcome the rabbit hole. There's plenty of advise around for the interface and speakers so I'll not get started on ...

Re: How can I minimize latency?
Those USB-MIDI cables generally suck, I had a midiman midisport 4x4 for a while and that was much better, but better still would be to buy an audio interface that has midi ports built in. Latency is probably due to you not using a dedicated audio interface, you don't mention it but that's what I'm g...

Re: Loaded Instruments with zero volume
I get this sort of thing when importing midi files, a lot of the time there is some automation data that seems not to be correctly importing and it sets device levels to zero. Quite often any drum tracks will have solo tracks on a kong that need removing, Europa's first sound generator often gets au...

Re: Cyclorama wall accoustics
Hi Gyles, thanks for the input. I've been asked to look at improving the acoustics of the whole media area, the walls are paper thin, I really don't know how they got away with recording anything for so long. I would like to keep an eye on the acoustics of the room, make them no worse at least but p...

Cyclorama wall accoustics
I'm looking into ways i can improve our media suite and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience in working with sound in a cyclorama studio.
How are the accoustics? Does it make reflection harder the manage? Do the curved corners help with sound diffusion or just make it more complicated?
