Re: Reason 12 has arrived
While I am mainly here to discuss how to do things in Reason, rather than how to behave, I cannot ignore that this thread gives me a déjà vu from the old Propellerhead forum, where intended irony eventually slipped into a corrosive culture, that likely contributed to its demise. Things like jest and...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
moalla "eierlegende wollmilchsau" - rougly: "egg-laying wool milk sow" or "äggläggande ullmjölksugga", as it would be in Swedish, is a proverb I haven't heard before, but a fitting one. The English sometimes refers to "everything and the kitchen sink", in regards to something with every conceivable ...

Re: The Further Combinator Suggestions
Well, silly me, for not reading the manual. When trying to build a 2U C2 for the VST plugin Organteq, I ran out of buttons. This is how far I got: OutOfButtons2.png The above is missing another eleven stops (the Musette 8' for the Positif and all stops for the Pédale), and, maybe, four tremulant swi...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
As this thread is currently stickied as the R12 is here, here goes; I went R12 yesterday, and I'm personally pretty pleased. Some pixels aren't perfect yet and some features may be narrower in scope than one could desire. Yet, as an (unrelated) software developer, I'm fine. This is the first rewrite...

Re: Algoritm is released!
Like strange_scenery, I just had to try that routing on the last page of the Algoritm manual. To me, the image appeared to depict everything being routed everywhere, which, to me, seems like a logical thing to test at some point during development, to make sure the device doesn't crash or uses exces...

Re: Q: Can I run Reason 10 with a Reason 11 license?
As far as I'm aware, you are allowed to run any version you have or have updated from. If I log in at Reasonstudios and click on "My Account", I can go to "My Products", from which I can click through to a list of every Reason license key I've ever had. In my case, that's every version since 1.0. Th...

Re: using a run commnad in a synth.
The [Run] patches tends to be for devices with a built-in sequencer of some sort. They are made to be used with that sequencer running. One example would be the patch Percutron [Run] for Thor (which I'm using as a first example, as Thor is something every Reason 4+ user has). Once the patch is loade...

Re: Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
Well, just as Steedus suggested, I decided to wait and see. Now, the Black Days are here and, indeed, AudioThing has a sale, on which I just picked up Fog Convolver at a 40% discount. Microsoft ate my AudioThing account activation e-mail, before my own spam filter had a chance to clear it, but I jus...

Re: Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
I might do that. Thanks for the hint. As this is purely a hobby for me, I'm mostly only allowing myself to buy discounted toys nowadays, partly to get a bit more out of my budget and mainly to dampen the Gear Acquisition Syndrome. When something is REALLY awesome, I might make exceptions. I'm not qu...

Re: Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
Excellent! AudioThing Fog Convolver was blissfully uncomplicated to download, unzip and install as a demo. Yes, it shows up in Reason and YES, it handles that 78 second impulse response just fine . None of the factory bank content showed up (I guess the "no save" demo limitation prevents it from eve...

Re: Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
Thank you for your suggestion. I have downloaded and read the user manual, and, while it doesn't say how long impulses are supported, it certainly seems like a capable reverb. I will have to argue a bit with my wallet, to see if I can allow myself to try out the demo. Should it turn out to manage th...

Re: Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
Hi Dante and thank you for your suggestion, much appreciated. To my delight, the user manual was available for immediate download. While Blackhole seems to be a reverb capable of some huge sounds, I can't find any mention of an ability to load my own impulse response from a file into it, and as I'm ...

Convolution reverb supporting impulse responses longer than 12 seconds?
While the RV7000 Mk2 has a nice convolution mode, page 1121 of the Reason 10.3/4 Operation Manual, says it truncates impulse responses to around 12 seconds, and I've verified that this limitation really exists. I would guess longer impulses would require more CPU. As I'd like to use this https://mat...

Re: I made a codec for the Arturia BeatStep
Thanks for spotting the missing file. I felt like I checked everything twenty times or so. Sometimes, it doesn't help, it seems. I've uploaded a corrected zip file now. Re: Combinator backdrops
Well, as far as I know, I am allowed to share patches, so here's an empty RDK Combinator patch. I don't know if it contains an image or just a reference to something within the ReFill, and I don't know if a patch saved from the "full" R9.2 will open in Essentials, but in both cases, I'd like to know...

Re: When Does May Madness End?
While not a final answer, shop pages featuring Jiggery-Pokery products on sale, for example https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/jps-harmonic-synthesizer/ all seems to say "May Madness Sale! 11-21 May 2017". Whether true in general or just for JPs stuff is unknown, but we can at least deduce that ...

Or, well, do be like that.
Still, the ugly version has some usability advantages over the current RE, so a compromise might just cut it. Perhaps the new SDK will allow just that.

The Most Stupid Features and Mistakes in Reason ?!?!
In my opinion Propellerheads made a mistake when they decided to compartmentalise editing of midi notes and also audio clips to single tracks at a time. Yes, indeed. Just being able to zoom in on a track to make it (and its neighbors) editable instead of having to flip between modes would reasonabl...

Perhaps, though I'd presume the inclusion of SSE support that also comes with RE SDK 2.2 would be of greater importance in that case.joeyluck wrote:Maybe u-he could cut out the cost of hiring outside 3D designers with this option and afford to revisit the format?

there will be something for those who have been supporting the company for many years? mmmmm..... I don´t think so.... Probably not, no. Microsoft doesn't think I'm special just because I've been buying Windows since version 3, and neither would Apple if I'd gone the Mac route. I get no extra treat...
