Re: VST tiny in Reason 12
I've just upgraded to Reason 12 as I need VST3 support. The scaling issue is kind of ridiculous! I'm running a 4k screen, which isn't that unusual in 2023... and I'm having to manually select every single plugin and enable auto scaling. I have a lot of plug-ins, Komplete, Waves etc - this is going t...

Reason 10 compatibility?
Hi all, long time away from Reason, but just starting to use it again. I convinced my mate who was still using hardware 4 tracks recorders to get Reason, so he got the light version and likes it. I wanted to collaborate with him, but alas the light version and my version don't mix :( I'd like to gif...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
No, wasn't recording. It was when I dragged the VSTs over to the insert on the mix channel. Reason just froze up, I can't remember exactly what it looked like.. I think there might have been a spinning circle! The main thing that's good to hear from all you guys is that you're surprised its happenin...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
Heya, thanks for your suggestions :) I've just reverted to V10 for now, and there's no midi issues. The thing is, it all works fine in other DAWs, so I know it's not my hardware. I think maybe V11 is just very new and not all the bugs have been ironed out yet. The crashes only happened when I tried ...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
No error messages, just freezing up. I left it for about 30 mins, and it didn't come out of it. After the first crash, reason did acknowledge the crash, and I had a message about possible corrupted audio, I can't remember exactly what it said though. Then it opened with the audio lane there, but an ...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
Hi, so the problem isn't consistent with those 2 VSTs - it doesn't crash every time I use them. Only happened twice so far, but I've only used Reason V11 about 4 times since upgrading, so that's 50% of the time!! TBH, if I keep getting crashes that corrupt my audio, I can't really use it on a seriou...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
Hi, the plugins I was using were NI RC48 (reverb) and Waves C1 compressor. Both very standard plugins, which work fine in Cubase and Ableton. This was two different occasions, not at the same time. Also worth mentioning I've had some strange midi issues with the External Midi device, which doesn't h...

Re: Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
THanks, Decaf, my machine is rock solid, no errors with the hardware :) Glad to hear it's not common, these kind of crashes. Hi all. Longtime Reason user here, since v2.5! I recently picked up Reason again after a few years off, and updated to v11. I'm running the latest build on a fast well-specced...

Reason 11 stability / audio recordings
Hi all. Longtime Reason user here, since v2.5! I recently picked up Reason again after a few years off, and updated to v11. I'm running the latest build on a fast well-specced PC, windows 10 with a Scarlet 6i6. I also use Cubase and occasionally Ableton, mostly a hobbyist, but also write production ...

Sampling artists, would they hunt me down?
There are sample packs out there that intentionally sound like the kind of records you probably want to sample. I'd take a look at these - unless of course you want to sample something really recognisable - then you need to get it cleared of have enough money for a lawyer. http://www.bigfishaudio.co...

Waldorf Nave is probably my favorite iOS synth I've tried. I'm a big Waldorf fan, used to own a Pulse and Blofeld, so am really interest in this one. I've heard a lot of people describe the sound as 'harsh' - but I think that's kind of the Waldorf sound isn't it?! It's on my GAS list, along with th...

I follow "iOS Musicians" and "iOS Tunage" on Facebook, if that helps. Good tips and posts. My favorite iOS app is NanoStudio. Cheers Julibee, will check them out. Will be good to find some fellow iOS-music-tweakers. Interesting to see some NanoStudio love. I installed it on my iPhone and had a...

Romanian house sound
Heya. I used to use Octamed on the Amiga , the good 'ol days! Got to say I was intrigued by hearing what Romanian house sounds like... and I should confess the accordion is my least favourite instrument. No2 is the bagpipe ;) Anyway, there doesn't seem to be an accordion in the Reason factory bank, ...

Just got back into making music with my iPad after upgrading to the new air (my old v2 was struggling with apps like Gadget) Can anyone recommend any good iOS music forums or sub-forums? I know there are tonnes out there, so just wondering if any of you guys have experience with any good ones - I ha...

If Props introduced a subscription plan for Reason................
If you have a subscription plan your DAW down as their servers go down. When PH die, your Reason Projects die with them. Can't have that for my music. Subscription models don;t tend to work that way. I use several bits of software on subscription, video, post, animation etc. You only need their ser...

I am considering to buy Cubase Pro 8. Do you know if Reason 8.2 and Cubase Pro 8 work in rewire? Also have Elektrons since this year.. (and still waiting for Overbridge) :D I don't know for sure, but can't think why they wouldn't work together. Have a look for an early version of Cubase on ebay, a...

Outside of Reason....
Flying the flag for Cubase, woo hoo! Why? I used to use it years before Reason dealt with Audio & Midi out properly, so I knew it fairly well. I bought a synth with an upcoming VST associated plug in (Elektron Overbridge) and a friend that works at NI gave me a fully licensed version of Komplete Ult...

Cool. Don't know the Future Retro, but the Analog Four is amazing (I have the Keys version) - you can;t go wrong with that. Is that a Zoom MS100? I recently got one for my bass guitar but found using it on drums is pretty rad. I used to have a Blofeld too! Hows the Machine drum? I'm torn between a m...

I'm a musician, but when I say that people's first reaction is usually to ask me what instrument do I play, and to me that's a relatively minor part of the whole equation. I play keys decently, guitars, flutes, harmonicas and cellos too, but not decently. I don't play any instrument well enough to ...

Why do you use OctoRex?
Interesting replies thanks guys. Seems common to use it for the loops already in the patch bank, not many of you are bouncing your own drums to .rex which is what I was interested in the benefits of, could be others out there that do it a lot I suppose. Not with my own drums, but I have found mysel...

Waiting to see the Electribe ESX2 (the sampler one) will be any good. Can't seem to find any reviews of it, though apparently it is out. I'm a fan of the ESX, I have the big red one, but it is A) Big and B) has shite fx

What's your favourite Disney song?
So seen as we're still discussing this, are there any Disney Music tropes that we use to make our songs more Disney? Can a song be too disn..oh yeah hanna montana.
