If I remember correctly, this is possible, but if your controller doesn't support it natively you have to do some Remote programming.
Ain't home, so can't double check but I think there's a solution in one of the Livid codec.

Hi folks, I recently bought an Akai MPD226 but have a quick question ... Does anybody know whether it's possible to configure parameter pick-up on the faders (in any shape or form)?
