Saving currently blocks the UI and can take quite a while to complete, especially when using large multi-sampled NN-XT patches.
Agreed that auto-save would be nice, but they'd need to improve saving in general first.

Re: Safari warning of Reasontalk password leak?
The xkcd approach is good for the rare situation where you need a password memorized. But beyond that, it's very important to keep all passwords unique, which means using a password generator and manager (unless you have an incredible memory). The best password doesn't protect you from social engine...

Re: Safari warning of Reasontalk password leak?
I believe the warning just means the password itself was seen in a data leak. The leak may be from a different person's account on a completely different website, but the password itself is the same.

Re: Reason opens windowed, but never to full screen size
No, it doesn't. This is how my template is saved: ...and this is how it opens after launching Reason: I have to re-align the windows every time, also in saved projects. It definitely works on both mac and windows for me. I tested it briefly, and I think the issue is with side and corner snapped win...

You need to use a song template. Reason saves the window dimensions as part of the song file.

If the LFO isn't being used during the first bar of the song, you could also delay the CV signal. Either use an RE like Lolth (free) or use stock devices to convert to/from audio.

Re: Creating a momentary switch with remote keyboard
Thanks for the replies. Couldn't seem to get any.of these methods to work. Other than the sustain pedal. I have a keyboard with pads that can be changed to momentary so I've been using that. Just. When I cant do something it's like an itch. Just for clarity. Id like to press a button on my qwerty k...

You could use the "X" CV output of BeatMap and click "Spawn XY" to change the value.

Were the tracks you imported compressed? (MP3, AAC)
Those will balloon in size once they're imported.

Are you on an Apple silicon machine?
If so, it's possible the plugin was built only for Intel.
Now that Reason runs natively, Intel plugins won't load unless you switch back to Rosetta.

I posted a similar request a while ago: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7525094 Technically, you can already use cmd-F to set focus to the search box at any time. So you can do cmd-I followed by cmd-F for instance, to search for an instrument. You can also use cmd-Left and cmd-Right...

Re: Trigger envelope based on probability?
This could be done using Drum Sequencer and Sweeper.
- Add one note at the start of a 16-step, 0.5x speed lane in Drum Sequencer with your desired probability.
- Attach the Gate Out CV for that lane to the Trig Envelope input of Sweeper.

Re: Combinator programming - switching between 20 instruments with one Combi knob
Here's another method that lets you use a single knob to switch between 16 sources using stock devices. Like some other solutions mentioned, all devices will receive all notes, so it won't be the most performant. In this case, I'm using a Thor button and knob routed to Kong's gate and note CV inputs...

Re: FF Twin 3
If it's not clear, this is now released. I've been trying it out today, and sound-wise it's excellent. The included presets are also refreshingly usable compared to some other synths--a lot of expressive patches that are generally fun to play. Of course, a lot of that's down to personal taste. I'm m...

Re: Learning Thor Synthesizer
If you're completely new to synthesis, I would recommend starting with a fixed architecture synth like Subtractor (or a comparable VST).
I wouldn't worry about features at this point. You're not making a lifetime commitment to whatever synth you choose to learn first.

Re: Is there a player that can add/remove delay?
I don't think it's possible for a player to shift things backwards, as it's unaware of notes yet to be played. But you could slide the audio using this https://roboticbean.com/products/ts-1/ Fair enough. I think Norman's sample delay plugin allows for a swing of more than 100ms, so that will have t...

Re: External drives/enclosures for storing music projects/files? Is RAID necessary?
I do have a Apple Time Machine, so as long as there is storage space on there, I should be good. It's an older one, with a spinning 2 TB HDD in there though, so that's not entirely failsafe. Is it possible to set up a standard external drive, and then use the multi-drive enclosure as a Time Machine...

Re: External drives/enclosures for storing music projects/files? Is RAID necessary?
Maybe you've left out some additional backups you're doing, but RAID is not a backup solution IMO. Your backup needs some type of history (in case of accidental deletion or file corruption), and ideally you should have a second offsite backup as well. Once those two backups are in place, you may fin...
