Re: Reason 12 quality issues.
I’m not going to talk specifically about beta testing here, as doing so would be inappropriate, but using the current stable release build of Reason, I’m more of a tester still than a user based on the bugs and behaviour I see. I’m on an older Mac OS version, still supported by RS, but have enough t...

Re: Reason 12 quality issues.
Either way, we are talking about an elusive and somewhat rare bug that was not so evident during testing and isn't easily reproducible either. Why do you keep on suggesting that bugs were not picked up during testing? Did you participate in the beta tests yourself, or is this speculation? I saw eno...

Re: Reason 12 quality issues.
Are you saying that the beta testing didn't find any reproducible bugs prior to release, or that these all got fixed, and what was left was undiscovered by testing?

Re: Copy/Paste functionality of The Echo's dry/wet knob
The inconsistent behaviour of things like wet/dry knobs across devices is part of the reason I requested parameter locking for patch browsing:

I like this too. The idea could very much be extended to allow RE developers to have snippets of their manual explaining button/control functionality which appear on roll over.

Re: Dr. OctoRex Midi Triggering Issue
Yes there are limits on how far you can transpose the notes, and you're directly affected by how many slices each Rex file uses too. Another way to use Rex files is via Reason's NN-XT sampler. You can load slices from multiple files across the keyboard with a single device (no Combinator required). ...

Re: Dr. OctoRex Midi Triggering Issue
So some information to help: I've attached a screenshot with an example combinator with two factory sound bank Dr. OctoRexes. The first one with 16 slices, the second one with 11. These play their slices contiguously on the keyboard, starting at C1 Dr OctoRex plays slices back from C1 on the keyboar...

Re: Issues on loading Reason 12.2.5 with freeze splash screen for 20 minutes and more ... [Mac Osx]
Interesting that they've recommended to upgrade but their minimum specs for Reason 12 state macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later (64-bit). They should probably update the minimum software requirements to macOS 10.15 if the older OS versions don't work properly with R12. It's very much too late for th...

Re: Freezing
Device freeze for audio already exists, this should be complemented seamlessly with CV freeze. Device freeze implies the devices are completely disabled and use no cpu. This is not true for instruments, and not complete for effects. Lots of devices keep consuming CPU even when there's no midi inter...

Re: is there a sequencer Player RE that isn't a step sequencer?
For me the Player closest to being upgraded to achieve this is Sequences. If you look at this Player, you can see it has an empty slot of UI next to "CV2". Many of the other modifiers in the slots to the left of this can operate on per note data (conditions per note for example), so it should be pos...

Parameter Locking upon Patch Changes
The RE SDK provides a unique advantage over VSTs in the Reason rack - capacity to provide new features consistently across all Rack Extension devices. On the basis of this, I've love to see all automatable parameters have the capability to be locked and unlocked with a simple right click. Locking a ...

Mix Channel Insert Effect Patches
In the last Reason version, you could load combinator patches into Mix Channels to act as insert effects, effectively you could template effects for mix channels this way. This has been recently progressed in Reason 12 to allow multiple Combinators to be housed as inserts - excellent stuff. However,...

Does the dialog problem affect other floating windows too? Next time it happens, try opening the dialog to manage plugins or the tools window. For me when this occurs all floating windows have their backgrounds made grey.
I have reported this as a bug to Reason Studios already.

Its similar issues to those described by the OP that got me thinking of this feature request: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7526827 Not strictly solving the problem mentioned here, but certainly going some way to helping. Workflow: Freeze/Burn CV Automation to Sequencer
I use Reason in complex ways, and often find myself in a situation where some automation can be found in the main sequencer, and some CV signals provide modulation. In particular, CV generated via Players provides an issue to me, as often if I write notes to track from Players, their CV signals are ...

Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
Software development is a bajillion times more complex than most people imagine, that's all that's at play here. There's a 0% chance they're merely refusing to develop features. They have finite time, and what might look like a simple button to you may involve more complexity than the entirety of y...

Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
What I'd simply like to know is how much of the proposed R12 roadmap is actually going to be delivered? Yes, it was stated it was a plan and not a promise, but I was made to feel that if the plan was going to change it was going to be prioritisation of alternative features, not the wholesale postpon...

Re: Why embracing "workarounds" might be making us better music makers
I hate that all the patches are lathed with copious amounts of reverb. Wouldn't it be nice if you could save "variants" of a patch? Or wouldn't it be nice if you could have more control over playing sample or patch previews? (because sometimes they sound ghastly) You know Reason Studios are uniquel...

This is also why I suggested saving buffer size per song, as if you increase this to allow a different more complex song to be finished, when you go back to your first song it'll sound different:

Yeah, don't get me wrong, perpetual license holders will be able to pay for this, but on top of the £199 currently being requested for the upgrade. If we take your rough cost estimate to be true: Reason+ and Bassline Generator: £99 for a year's sub. Reason Perpetual: £199 upgrade and £109 Bassline G...

Re: RS Bassline Generator Sneak Peak
Based on recent behaviour by RS, I cynically expect them to release this only for Reason+ subscribers. In the past, for both major and minor/point updates, new devices were typical benefits to upgrading a perpetual license, I genuinely fear this has gone now for owners of licenses. I appreciate mone...
