Re: Reason stuff you've wondered why then suddenly realised the answer.
At the beginning i just thought, that RV7000 was just a reverb. Than suddenly after turning some knobs i noticed, it has a Reverse effect, several tap delays and a Spring Reverb (which was a mysterie for me quite a long time too). Now i just whish i had more (CV) controls for those effects and it w...

Re: 20 Years of Reason: Goodie Bag
I'm intrigued by some of the thoughts around typography. Redrum's displays are the original, aliased 7-pixel font, which makes complete sense as Redrum clearly has LED dot-matrix displays that wouldn't be high-resolution. NN-19, meanwhile, has a vector font, which does render at high resolution. Th...

Re: Changing Template back
Hello beautiful people, I have made a breakthrough, when I hover over the template names and double click, if I then use "quick look" to view the file, when I close the file I then get the option to open it, and then it does in fact save to the template in the default song in preferences, yay!!! Th...

No relationship to the drum grooves. Serves as a way to orient yourself ("I like the kick beat around that hill there") but yeah, pretty much eye candy!manisnotabird wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020Do the features on the topographical map have any relationship to the drum groove created, or are they totally arbitrary eye candy?

Re: Reason 11.2 is here!
No code from Mutable Instruments was used in the making of Beat Map. Although there certainly are some functional similarities between the devices on the surface, they use completely different approaches. Thanks for that clarification! You can understand how one could think that though. Absolutely!...

Re: "No mixer channel" message when rendering MIDI to Audio via Bounce in Place
Hi! It's exactly what it says: since the "Bounce in Place" function works by rendering the output of a main mixer channel, it requires that the instrument is connected to its own channel(s) in the main mixer. If your Subtractor is connected to a rack mixer (Mixer 14:2 or Mixer 6:2) for example, it h...

Re: Reason not recognizing faders/knobs on M-Audio Controller
Hey, some confusion in this thread. Here are some facts: * If there is a dedicated entry for your keyboard model in the list in the preferences (or if Reason can find it using auto-detect), there's no need to add it as a generic "Control Keyboard" or similar. Those are only for keyboards and control...

It has Shuffle tho. Selectable on the Rate menu (= 1/16th notes shuffled according to Global Shuffle setting in ReGroove mixer).tobypearce wrote: ↑06 Jun 2019This device is fantastic.
I have several of the other similar ones but this one nails it.
Please though: SHUFFLE!

Re: Today's "Why Can't I?" Moment
Could maybe work with a modifier key, but that's not great. Why is making it work with a modifier key not great? Because * all single modifier keys are already used (copy-drag, momentary switch tool, multi-select) so it would have to be a combination of modifier keys which is typically not so strai...

Re: Deleting sections of audio tracks
Hi How do you do "destructive" editing on an audio track? If I cut part of an audio track using the razor tool, then delete the section I don't need, it's nevertheless still there. But presumably this makes the file size larger. Is there a way to permanently remove the not-needed sections and there...

Re: REDRUM IS EVIL
I'm personally fond of the story of ID-8: It was developed for Record 1.0, to provide a basic, no-frills instrument toolbox for users without Reason (its working name was "RBI" for Rock Bottom Instrument). Then we wanted a proper (but decidedly non-flashy) name for it, and since it was supposed to h...

Re: Copy and paste a bus between projects
I've got a bus which through which I routed vocals in a track, and the effects chain for the bus is extremely complex. I want to copy this bus into another project so I can reuse the vocal effects, but when I paste the device into the new project it pastes it as a mix channel rather than a bus. How...

Re: Just going crazy
it makes sense that it would recalc every time you open the project too, for undo purposes. if you time stretch something, it would be bad if it rendered your changes as new audio—undoing the stretch would then render it again, and you’d start getting artifacts, rather than being able to just undo ...

Re: Reason records all midi notes staccato. Whilst playing fine.
Hi, I'm pretty sure this has to do with double MIDI notes somehow. * What MIDI keyboards/control surfaces are you using? (i.e. which ones are listed in the upper list on the Preferences/Control Surfaces page?) * If you're using Reason 10.2, which ports are listed under Easy MIDI Inputs (the lower li...

Re: Micro Pitching.
Hey, I will attempt to explain this best I can. The default pitch bend on the Dr.Rex is 7 semitones. You can change it all the way up to 24, this feature is found on the bottom of Dr. Rex next to the Slice edit mode button. The actual pitch bend wheel operates in fine detail so those 7 semitones ar...

Re: Auto-Detect Midi Controller
Hi, Likely not related, but we removed autodetection for a few very old keyboards and controllers in Reason 10.0.3 (I believe). The reason was that the autodetection process took quite a long time on startup (a time that grew longer with each new controller that was added to the list). These models,...

Re: Is this an Octave change bug?
It sounds as if the keyboard focus shifts from the clip area to the track list, causing the Transpose to affect all clips on the track.
I haven't been able to reproduce this - do you by any chance click in the track list at some point?
