Re: how i ended up not buying Reason
[...] I'm not sure how people manage 'not' to make it work, but you gotta have talent for that [...] ^this^ I don't even know how you get involved with the authorizer in Demo Mode. If your computer isn't authorized and you don't have the beloved dongle (with valid license) attached, you get the spl...

Re: Where can i find a demo of Reason 7?
Updates aren't really 'updates' (they aren't patches that modify/update an existing install) - they are full versions of the (new/updated) program that completely replace the existing version - so you don't need a previous version to install/run them.

Re: Audio Interfaces
Not sure if you are just polling people, or if you are in the market for an interface. If you are in the market for an interface and looking for suggestions, it would be good if you posted your budget, how many simultaneous inputs you need (or want), the connectivity type(s) you would consider, and ...

Re: Does A DAW Copyright Music?
My best comment on this is that you need to keep a few things in mind: (1) Copyright is a matter of law within each country. There is an international copyright agreement that many, but not all, countries recognize. (2) Like all laws, copyright laws, however written, only matter in terms of how they...

Re: Delete/Permanently hide crappy Rack Extentions
Would be nice though to have an option in your account to uncheck a RE from the Sync All option and have it remembered in your account. I'd like to be able to uncheck it and have it *forgotten* on my account :) I would also like a checkbox for "I want my money back" (mostly for the Uhbik-A) if/when...

Re: Few quick questions regarding Essentials and upgrading
There are two upgrades to Reason. The one you quoted for 130 is for upgrading from a previous version of full Reason to the current version. That upgrade will not work for Essentials. You need the Upgrade for Essentials which costs 329 https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/upgrade-for-essentialsada...

Re: dead
I would not be surprised to see Prop's release a VST product shortly that allows RE's and native Reason instruments to run in other DAWs. I heard they are working on this and plan to call it ReWire :D I do agree that it would not be surprising if Props released a stand-alone 'VST rack' that allowed...

Re: Old Propellerhead Record program - does it need authorising?
I'm sure they could allow it to be authorised without giving away the secrets of International Rescue. Some aspect of the authorization mechanism is coded into the application. It's not likely that they are going to go back and change the code to an obsolete program so that it no longer checks for ...

Re: Issues with my sound(card)
I dunno about the "significantly better sound" aspect. Yeah, I should qualify that... Built-in sound cards differ in quality and so do (external) audio interfaces. If you have a decent built-in sound card you might get better sound out of it than a cheap external interface. I do suggest that OP, es...

Re: Issues with my sound(card)
Will an [...] audio interface be an answer to my problem? An audio interface should give you significantly better sound. An interface will use up one of your ports and it's probably not a good idea to connect it through a hub, as everything on that hub will share in interrupt and that can cause aud...

If you actually have 2 base licenses you can manage them separately - you should be able to authorize your laptop with your R8 license.

Re: Upgrading from 7 to 9
As QVprod said, you should be fine if you don't need Line6, but it is a good idea to make backups/copies of all of your songs before you upgrade.
Once you work on songs in R9, you won't be able to open them in R7 (in the event you want to revert for some odd reason).

Plug your ignition key into your computer Login to your PH account and goto "Products" By default, you will be on the "Applications" tab, which is what you want to do first. Click "Authorize" in the upper right. You will get a screen that says "Authorize Computer and Keys" This screen should show th...

Seeking PA System + Wireless Mic Recommendations
I'm in a group where 20-30 people meet in a room that seats 40 people at tables - it's maybe 30x30 feet (10x10 meters). The format is that one person leads the meeting (wired mic), and when people attending want to talk, they are handed a wireless mic. We currently use (borrow) a bulky system with 1...

Could be you need to run Reason 8 in 32 bit mode - find the Reason app, select "get info", and check the "Open in 32-bit mode" check-box (assuming you're on a Mac - not sure where this setting is on Windows). :) Studio One v3 should be 64-bit (?) but if not, Reason 8.2 is 64-bit only, but Reason 8....
