Re: R12, 16 months on, ... how are you all finding it?
Seems good here. I was having some stability issues with R10 and R11 that seem to have mostly or entirely disappeared at some point in the 12.x cycle. Performance is fine, too.

Re: How many songs did you finish in 2022?
Ten released on Future Human , eighteen released on the Please Be Happy OST , six released for a certain Doom WAD soundtrack (plus one remix of one of those), four more released in a few days as an EP, two contributions for another soundtrack project, at least nineteen more finished for unreleased p...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
It would definitely be wise to use VST3 versions going forward, wherever possible. In the short term, it's not going to make much difference, but it's not impossible that some VST2 versions might eventually be no longer supported by their developers (and thus no longer be able to run on new computer...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
Not jumped ship to my copy of R12 just yet - just a quick question; whilst using R12.5 if you delete all VST2 versions in favour of VST3 and open up an old rsn demo that contains VST2 - will the VST2 plugins be replaced with the installed VST3 plugins? No, at least as of now you'll need to keep bot...

Re: New Roadmap (December 2022)
Billy+ apparently doesn't remember the bad old days when we would wait years for an update to get one new synth, with no plugin options to make the wait any easier. I would love for the pace of development to be quicker still, but it seems undeniable that Reason development is moving along more quic...

Re: Is Kontakt 6 worth the money at half price?
Kontakt is definitely worth it.
Get a free or cheap Kontakt Player library, like Embertone Arcane, and you become eligible for a crossgrade at half the price you posted.

I haven't had it happen with Mimic, but I have had it happen with other devices sometimes. I can't narrow down what causes it.

Mods, you keep removing my posts? Good work. Sorry if I hurt James's feelings, I usually call out liars on their bs, but I guess it's frowned upon on here? I've asked Joey before to delete my account here on ReasonTalk because I've had enough of this circle jerk forums with ass moderators that only...

Re: Do you prefer REs or VSTs?
I tend to prefer REs for effects and synths for quick editing in the rack, and VST for sampled instruments because of better handling of RAM and disk streaming, ability to edit instruments in Kontakt, etc.

Re: Non stock devices in Reason 12 factory soundbank combi
So the RoadMap is near complete R.I.P perpetual licence holders… Just to clarify things here - I am not an official voice of RS so my comments should just be taken as random thoughts/opinions/speculation. I am merely the sound designer that made the mistake in question so I'm here to own that and a...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
I'm not sure where you got that idea. All you have to do is look at developers whose products were for elites only. I could list plenty that doesn't support your statement. This is pretty much the only DAW developer that has done this. As for plugins look at Waves, IK, Sample libraries - VSL, 8dio,...

Re: Exciting Major updates ahead! For Project Sam
I, too, love to needlessly exclude myself from a huge percentage of the sample library market out of misplaced spite. edit: I would much rather just pay upfront than have to give up 50% of my sales for eternity making the same instrument as a GE rack extension. But enough people own the full version...

Re: Exciting Major updates ahead! For Project Sam
You know how it is with audio software. The sale price is the real price. Buying Kontakt isn't for the factory library content, it's for the engine. If even $125 is too much, there's nothing more I can say to convince you. I can't imagine going without the full-Kontakt instruments I own, or t...

Re: Exciting Major updates ahead! For Project Sam
That would be nice. The pricing for Kontakt sucks for the user and the library creator. Either the user needs to fork out the money to buy the full version of Kontakt (even if they don't plan to use it to create libraries themselves) or the designer has to pay the large fees up front to make their ...

Re: New innovative features?
It'd be really cool to expand on the rack with a simplified "overview" mode that just shows labeled blocks or icons connected to each other via lines, to quickly get a zoomed-out overview of how everything's connected, or to find something in the rack more easily, etc.
