Kontakt is definitely worth it.

Get a free or cheap Kontakt Player library, like Embertone Arcane, and you become eligible for a crossgrade at half the price you posted.

They seem fine here in R12 on macOS Big Sur.

I haven't had it happen with Mimic, but I have had it happen with other devices sometimes. I can't narrow down what causes it.

I tend to prefer REs for effects and synths for quick editing in the rack, and VST for sampled instruments because of better handling of RAM and disk streaming, ability to edit instruments in Kontakt, etc.

It'd be really cool to expand on the rack with a simplified "overview" mode that just shows labeled blocks or icons connected to each other via lines, to quickly get a zoomed-out overview of how everything's connected, or to find something in the rack more easily, etc.

SEQUENCER:
Double clicking on the track icon of a plug-in opens the plug-in window without bringing down the rack view.

This is another one I wish for on a daily basis.
