Re: What does everyone have in the mastering section?
What is in my mastering section? Surprisingly not my mastering. The only thing currently in there is the HP filter for the Master Compressor. Beyond that is my mastering Combinator (between the Master Out and the Hardware Interface), which has Ozone 10 in it, plus Youlean Metering. In Ozone, I use t...

Re: Panning difference...
I’ve been around for a long time, and heard all sorts of ‘things’ in my life. But even in the weird audio world, this is a new one. First of all, you can’t get anyone to 100% agree on which way to pan drums or pianos, but no argument has ever been about which side is ‘closer/further’. Second, the c...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
There is no way they can make up the time they have lost not developing the sequencer vs. what others have done - while others are still improving theirs. There is a way: Develop at least the most basic sequencer organizer-functions other DAWs implemented 10 years ago - that would be enough for now...

I don't know about others, but Selig Audio is going 50% off starting May 15th for two weeks.

Re: Announcing Reason 13
We're comparing a complete inability to do things in the face of capable alternatives to "it's not convenient enough," and I'm not sure that's a rationale argument one can realistically make in this scenario. Allow me to clarify, since I seem to have given you the wrong impression. I’m saying a fea...

Thanks selig ! Yeah I totally agree but sometimes I read somewhere that for instance panning (guitars, background stuff and ... )to the left makes them more audible and panning keyboard and sharp instuments to the right makes them more percievable and to be honest what I just mentioned has many man...

Re: Vocoding for the uninitiated
Speak as clearly as you need to speak to get the desired effect. I’ve found I often need to over annunciate, sometimes a LOT, to get clear vocoding results. Pitch is totally ignored, BUT you may be able to get clarity with some pitches over others. So pitch matters in some cases, but doesn’t matter ...

I would say the center is like being center stage, and panning left/right is like being left/right of center stage.Reminiscence wrote: ↑11 May 2024The center is like a hallway, panning left and right are like separate rooms?
The stereo image is often called a “soundstage”, after all….

Re: Announcing Reason 13
As for this upgrade, it's a HARD NO for me. All personal opinion/takes . Others can spend their money on what they find is worth it to them . The Sequencer Changes are basically just visual changes. They don't move the sequencer forward - functionally… Not sure I would agree. A feature list can suc...

Re: RIP Steve Albini
I never met him, but I knew guys like him around Nashville. From what I knew, he just did his gig, knew his shit inside and out, and shared his knowledge gained over the years.
Because of that he will leave a hole in his world, which is IMO one of the best compliments you can ever receive in life.

Re: Seeking solutions from fellow beatmakers
9 times out of 10 when someone describes a control "moving on its own" in any way, it's because of a janky hardware controller as the culprit, sending out data on its own. If you don't have any hardware connected, it could be accidentally recorded (check the track), otherwise I got nothing… If you w...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Over the years, though, I've been able to acquire hefty samplers like Kontakt and Omnisphere, and due to the absence of multi-midi channels, it's necessary to open multiple instances of Kontakt for each desired sound. Moreover, when working with a lot of audio and multiple comped vocal tracks in di...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
I think the issue is if you never use any other DAW then reason is great but if you have any other DAW, you realize how behind reason is as a DAW. Reason for me is now a plug-in that I use in other DAWS… Reason feels like software from 10 years ago. It is missing so many features. I always come bac...

Re: Need help for a formula to phaseshift cv values
Here's how to do it with Thor (of course!) in a Combinator: Shifted Rotary 90°.cmb.zip CV1 out is covering the full range from 0 -127 on the top half and -127-0 on the bottom half. This is routed to the Pitch Bend wheel on Thor to 'visualize' the motion. Connect this (CV1 out) to the CV input of you...

I hope these new changes doesn't affect the way favorite lists work. Does anyone who has a better grasp of this know if it will? I use my favorite lists to find my devices all the time. I never scroll down the regular instruments/effects/utilities lists, because a lot of them I never use. To be hon...

Re: Life after Rewire
hehehe, thanks for sharing all that! It is indeed a sad situation. I tried to do it with Ableton Link but Reason doesn’t respond to start/stop and you have to wait for the beat when you hit play which I think would get a bit unnerving hahaha I managed to slave Reason to Pro Tools using Midi Beat Cl...

Re: Reason 13 Gain Tool <—> Selig Gain
No bypass for Gain? That's so crazy I never even noticed! There can't be many Reason effects without a bypass The decision probably comes down to the Combinator's Bypass FX button. For this type of device, I can see arguments for and against disabling it when that button is pressed. the “Gain” butt...

I get all that, and stand by my post. That feature (Revert) was added during testing because of everyone missing the former functionality. So now instead of having to remember “Clear Browse Focus” = “OK”, you just click OK. Plus we get back the old behavior of being able to browse through multiple p...

There is no such thing as saving code as "published", plus there is no relation between a feature from Reason and the software used to write the code for Reason. You are correct on your last point. Moving on… I guess I will need to put in big letters I AM JOKING in my future posts. You're right, mo...

I remember how they had an option in reason to save a song as "normal" or as "published" song...you couldn't do much on a published song. Seems like someone at prop's saved a code as "published" and now they can only do so much with it. I don't know man. M There is no such thing as saving code as "...

Re: Reason 13 Gain Tool <—> Selig Gain
Real question is not about plagiarism but rather does the RS device do anything more than the Selig Device? We know the Selig device has additional features over the RS device Gain Tool features Selig Gain lacks: can be a cross fader or two channel stereo mixer, output router, invert polarity on in...
