Re: Opinions on Bitwig
Hello, I'm using Bitwig and Reason. - My friend and I, who uses Ableton, are trying to make a progressive house track there. Sometimes, I, who invited him to try Bitwig, think about using Ableton :)). Many more have this feeling. -Most of the tutorials are on YouTube. They have an unofficial Discord...

How to use Thor as a saturation effect
Hello,
1. I want to use Thor as a saturation effect. How can I do that?
(For example, the instrument is Europa, and I want to saturate the sound with Thor).
2. Can we use Thor as a multi-band saturator? How?
Thanks

Re: The best ways to learn Mixing and Mastering
Here are my recommendations: I just finished two courses by Bernardo Schwanka on Udemy that were excellent, both dealing specifically with electronic music. The first one is a really comprehensive course with around 27 (!) hours of videos. I think I took around 60 pages of handwritten notes during ...

Re: The best ways to learn Mixing and Mastering
I couldn't get the hang of mixing until I finally decided to take a dedicated online course. I bought the mixing and mastering course here: https://www.recordingrevolution.com/ - the guy who created it has since sold it to some other guy, but I imagine the original course is still available? Anyway...

The best ways to learn Mixing and Mastering
Hello, I recently watched some famous EDM producers' masterclasss, like Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren, etc. (FaderPro). I got nothing :D :D There was nothing special in them. IMO, they just published them for business. What do you recommend for learning Mixing and Mastering? Books, videos,... From who?...

Andrew Scheps even just uses Sony headphones, nothing fancy, especially when traveling, as far as I remember from an interview. Erm... I posted a video just a few replies back in this topic, where he discusses that :puf_wink: He uses a Sony MDR-7506 set as his primary monitoring, even in his own st...

Re: Good Speaker Monitoring for Mix and Mastering or Sound designing
Hmm a 8inch speaker at 6m2 seems to big, at all I still have now a musicroom half of your size and my 5inch Eve SC205 monitors are more than enough maybe to big, but for mixing I use a 8inch diy Sub with 60watt sinus power (Portokasse Sub8) and that’s still to much for my tiny room, so this sub is ...

Re: Good Speaker Monitoring for Mix and Mastering or Sound designing
E30 II + L30 II + ATH-E70 You get a full professional, premium quality IEM system. Personally, I could EQ sub bass with 0.1 dB accuracy, landing on the exact same value after tripple-checking. And we are the least sensitive in that frequency region. I also can pan dead-accurately, as well ax mix sp...

Re: Good Speaker Monitoring for Mix and Mastering or Sound designing
I recently tested some speaker monitoring around 500-600 $ : KRK Rokit7 G4 Adam T7V Yamaha HS7 Presonus E7 XT Focal Alpha 6.5 (a little higher price) at this price range, almost all of the speakers add color to your sound. I don't care if you enjoy listening to your speakers. What we want as a musi...

Re: Good Speaker Monitoring for Mix and Mastering or Sound designing
In general, how do you choose an honest speaker monitoring? What's missing in this discussion is the influence of the room. If you have an untreated/unmeasured room, it doesn't matter what monitors you put into them. You won't get any honest results. As for headphones, this... https://youtu.be/s4Yu...

Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
What kind of cable should I use? The manual says : BUS POWER: MIN REQUIREMENT:0.9A @ 5V >=USB 3.0 Port MAX REQUIREMENT:1.5A @ 5V USB-C: Provides higher headphone outputs levels Important note - The USB-A connector must be able to provide 900ma of current (as specified in the USB3.0 specs). A big step up from your Presonus Interface would be a Audient Id14 mk2, what I owned and what’s now my brothers Interface. It’s has really nice preamps and Converter quality is on par with my RME FirefaceUC, the preamps sounding better with my SE 2200t tube mic than the RME ones. The driver and vir...

Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
I changed the cable and plugged it into the headphone input of the sound card(from the speakers). My point is that the headphone output is "hotter" because it has to drive an actual speaker, and it has a much different impedance than the speakers expect. It can also distort more easily because it i...

Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
I tried that. The sound level of the speakers increased by two times! I even tried that on my laptop's Aux input and got the same result. Why do TRS cables decrease the sound level that much? Wait, the ONLY thing you changed was the cable? I thought you were ALSO switching from the line outputs to ...

The JBL has a headphone input. Is it okay if I connect my headphones to this input? Do you mean AUX In? https://www.jbl.com/studio-monitors/JBL-104-BT.html I don't know if that's OK. Re: How to choose a good Sound Card
I wonder if the issue is that this interface is USB powered, and doesn’t have as much power as other interfaces? I don’t know if these are the “best” interfaces, but I’ve had good experiences with both the Scarlett and Clarett line of interfaces by Focusrite. Could you tell the exact model of Focus...
