Do you have gorilla manager in your installed programs all of a sudden?
I went to uninstall some demos and saw something in the list of installed programs I didn't install myself - gorilla manager. Turns out it's a tool for designing plugins and reason is one of their clients. I didn't install anything from them recently but I saw that around the same time the WIBU prog...

Combinator 2.x improvements: More Buttons, stepped knobs, Text only, more
1) Limit of 32 buttons / knobs is too small when you're trying to control multiple devices in one unit. 2) Need stepped knobs - specify number of steps so they can match the knob you are mapping it to in the device 3) Text only field - because sometimes you need to have a larger label for devices bu...

Standalone reason song batch optimizer
I like to save different versions of my songs whenever I make major changes in case I need to revert. But I end up with a lot of files. Save & optimize can cut down some files by 60%, but if you don't do it all the time you end up with large files. And if you want to shrink files later you have to w...

Re: DAW Recommendations to host reason
There are lots of DAWs out there which will host the RRP without problems but moving hundreds of Reason songs into another DAW is not trivial and will probably drive you nuts. You'd be better off installing Reason 11 for all your pre R12 songs. R11 and R12 will happily co-exist on the same machine ...

Re: DAW Recommendations to host reason
Multiple times. Others have reported similar problems.
Been testing it this morning. Sometimes it loads up the right preset with the wrong settings. Other times it loads up the wrong (internal vst) preset with the wrong settings.

DAW Recommendations to host reason
Main requirement: Has to run on windows. Been using reason since version 2, record since it was introduced. I have hundreds and hundreds of songs built up over the years. I wanted to stay with reason since everything was already there for me. However reason keeps losing / changing the settings of mu...

Re: Are you taking advantage of blocks?
The big problem with blocks as implemented in the sequencer is in the UI. It looks and feels like a mask over your sequencer arrangement, like it's taking over everything and locking you into a "blocks or nothing" approach. That is personal perception. I see something entirely different: clips in t...

Re: Are you taking advantage of blocks?
The best way to understand the power of Blocks is to think of it as a combination of an arrangement system and ghost clips. Most people that don't like Blocks point to the fact that if you start in a sequencer track, you then have to copy/move your clips into a block. But herein lies the actual pow...

Re: enter more text in song information
Until RS throw a bone to people who want support for lyrics, the best solution is the free VstNotepad: https://codefn42.com/vstnotepad/index.html The RE Commentators are a nice idea but not a substitute for a decent text editor. And the Song Info window could be expanded in capacity but it is curre...

enter more text in song information
Sometimes when working on a song the lyrics come to me. So I turn to the easist place that will save it right with the song. Song information.
But there is only room there for a couple verses and maybe a chorus.
Been waiting for this to increase forever.

Re: Taming resonant sounds in the mix
TDR Nova and TDR slick eq both have an auto-learn function that scans your signal and detects resonant frequencies, and will set up eq points based on that. They have free and paid versions of both. Paid versions are quite affordable, especially when on sale. AFAIK that option is not available in t...

Re: Why does the sequencer change grid resolution at random?
I don't know but I always wished I could set it to one resolution and have it just stay there! Always found this confusing and annoying yet it's just a step to correct it so never looked past it. This is one of the problems with the reason design philosophy: They don't offer much customization to s...

More control over the browser window
Nice feature but it's in the tradition of reason's "This is our way of doing it and that's how it's going to be" of design philosophy. Needs: 1) To be placed where it is convenient for me. On the left side covering the master inserts and effects is not convenient. Right side, where I rarely place ra...

Ever have VSTs lose settings when you reopen a song?
Especially if they're inside a combinator? I've been making a mastering combinator with some new plugins. Have it inside a song I've been working on. Go back right now to a song that I was just working on this morning and 5 or 6 of the plugins have completely lost their settings. They don't even sho...

Re: Combinator 2: Make buttons 2 way and logical
2) Need basic logical operations where there is button overlap using the shared features of an RE. For example, I have multiple Reference 5 units in a combinator. I'd like to be able to use the combinator buttons to switch between 1 through 5. When I do that the reference 5 changes but the other bu...

Combinator 2: Make buttons 2 way and logical
Making combinators so I can control most functions with a lot of VSTs / RE's while having the devices folded. Two things that are needed: 1) Need two way linking actions both ways so if I'm actually using a RE or change the status of a VST inside the rack, the status of the corresponding button / kn...

Re: Are you taking advantage of blocks?
I use blocks by making them proxies for each part of the song. It makes changing, stretching, and shortening different sections much easier than limiting myself to the regular sequencer view. When you do it without blocks and you want to extend a verse or add a break you have to drag everything arou...

Turning off combinator should turn off all devices inside
Pretty simple - and if anyone thinks it would be a problem, this could be a behavior that could be switched on and off in preferences. Simply - when you turn off a combinator, all the devices inside should be turned off to save on CPU resources. I was doing an A/B test on two different mastering cha...

Why does the sequencer change grid resolution at random?
I can't seem to figure out the logic why reason does this. I thought it was something I was doing but after the last time it happened I have no clue. Example: Had a 16 bar phrase. Set grid to 1/16. Looked fine. Went to change the right loop point to halfway so I could concentrate on the first half. ...

Closing in on 4. But I only started up again late last month after many years off.
As long as I can stay healthy I might be in the "25 or more" camp next year.

VST Quick Launch Dock
Reason needs a quick launch dock for VSTs. Especially when mixing / mastering - you have to jump between some many different things and the vst windows get in the way, then you need them again to tweak a parameter and you either have to find in the rack or hit the right button in thesmall minimized ...

Re: Reason 12.5.0 Released (VST3)
Yes, but I want them all to be routed to their own mix channel so I can balance them at the same time as everything else instead of having to go down to a combinator to handle a submix in some line mixer. Is this what you're looking for? https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/ab-transpos...
