I switch weekly between a Behringer UMC204 2/4 and a Soundcraft UI24 with many in/outputs. I never have to look at that menu as it appears to remember which inputs I have enabled.also regularly use built in sounds card or that multiple ASIO clients software. It always remembers.

I do seamlessly switch live between combinators by preloading and then hot swapping midi channels on demand. Or do you need something else? It's even possible to play them both during transition although I haven't really used that so far.
