Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
For the record, Reaper has been cracked, which I find kinda amusing given the above discussion. It's been cracked for ages now this is not news. But so is more expensive stuff. Even the free stuff end up being cracked (as stupid as it can be). This is not what we are talking about here. The point (...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
If it makes you feel any better, I of course feel people should support developers and pay for the software they use if it paying for it is a requirement. I also feel if a dev really wanted people to pay for their software first and foremost, they wouldn't allow you to use it in a trial-mode period...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
If the trial expired, they should lock the software use past a determined period. Otherwise, what's the point in letting users use the software indefinitely, for free (which is what their current "trial" allows very easily)? To test one's "virtue"? Perhaps point is that the dev is not a person moti...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
It's really sad seeing people working against their own moral interests. Reaper is not free that's really simple. It is a commercial product which can be purchased for silly money especially for what you can do with it. The fact that someone can and is using or abusing it past trial period is a refl...

Re: Proper stereo panning in Reason: RE or VST?
Here's the free combinator: "Pandemon" Uses stock devices only (requires Pulsar LFO, so Reason 9 and up, I guess?) no extra utilities or CV stuff required! What does it do? Insert in the rack for easy one-knob true stereo panning. Try it before and after reverbs and delays. Includes bass mono-izer ...

Re: Proper stereo panning in Reason: RE or VST?
FYI Width is working but Pan knob doesn't do anything. Moving left or right doesn't have any effect. Sorry about that, forgot to reconnect the output of the mergers to CV 1 and 2 on the Combinator. Here's the link to the corrected version, or you can just connect each merger output to CV input 1 an...

Re: Proper stereo panning in Reason: RE or VST?
For those with Selig Gain, here's a version I made to demonstrate how I feel panning should work in Reason (basically what we've been talking about here), utilizing Pan and Width and including alter pan law selection and L/R swap for giggles. https://www.dropbox.com/s/11wltcjmnkqhclv/Selig_StereoPa...

Re: Copy paste device
Ok here is the weird part. I just tried Duplicate function and it only duplicated Matrix. However I swear it didn't worked for me few times when I tried it. It duplicated everything not just the Matrix. I don't know how is this working today? Maybe I just mouse hovered over the wrong place before, b...

Re: Copy paste device
No there isn't. Like I said there is Duplicate option but it will duplicate everything. Not only Matrix.PhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑24 Jul 2021I've seen a duplicate option somewhere, is it not there on those devices?
This (screenshot) is what I see when I mouse hover over matrix and press right mouse click.

Copy paste device
Guys, I have a seemingly funny question. Have can I copy and paste single device which is in a chain or combinator? Example: I have a combinator containing an instrument which has several devices below. One of it is Matrix or Synapse Filter. So I want to copy just Matrix or Filter and paste it somew...

Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
So you can load up patches like Lately Bass etc? I am not sure what you are asking me? Sysex is generally not used to share banks but yes theoretically I could save a patch on my hardware synth and call it Lately Bass and then later I could use Cubase to send sysex into my synth and it will be reca...

Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
And sysex files too no? Why? Genuinely curious! I use sysex to load up specific hardware configurations etc. but I have never needed to load sysex. I've never seen anyone sharing patches in hardware or software sampler either. I understand point of having presets or banks in such format but not in ...

Re: [Speculative] Will you be able to run new devices (sampler/combi v2} in reason 11?
yes it needs to load it every time so if you close down reason your are back to super slow loading of everything again. It might not be buggy but it is slow as slow can be. I highly doubt that the majority of users load reason and leave it running forever so it will be slow again. it takes me over ...

Re: [Speculative] Will you be able to run new devices (sampler/combi v2} in reason 11?
This is speculation but I don't believe that new combnator will be available for previous versions nor should anyone expect it. 1. Reason 12 isn't buggy or slow. Hires assets may need some time to load only for the first time but that's it. There are some other things which they will polish further ...

Well it seems that ES400 FM synth in on sale now. Which is a chance to buy it. I just tried his other synths. I know this is a thread about Algoritm but maaannn...His synths poses some kind of sheer quality. I can't realize what's about it, is it filter design or envelopes but his synths respond dar...

Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
Yeah NNXT with new zero delay filters, new filter types ala z-plane, comb filters, snappier envelopes - no need for redoing everything. Some structural changes (while retaining backward compatibility) could breathe life in it.

Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
My guess is that the new sampler is aimed more toward "experimentation" or design so to speak. So it probably have something unique about it. Like throw in a sample of a toilet water flushing and get something unique. Or record into it with a twist. PErhaps some unique time stretching algorithms and...

Re: Algoritm is released!
I just had a look into your patch. You can quite close, but exactly matching is pretty hard since you nipulate the sounds all over the place with scaling, rate manipulation and an LFO. Also ES400 uses some Amp, which is difficult to match. While trying to reproduce, the most obvious were the Envelo...

Re: Algoritm is released!
Algoritm has free curves which can be used as Envelops via Mod Matrix. I will have a look... Thank you! I am interested in using what you said, free curves. I need to look into that. I got fairly close today but no cigar. If you find some time let me know. I am going to say thanks in advance. Regards

Re: Algoritm is released!
Hi there. At the moment I am trailing Algoritm and ES400. Because I don't want or need two FM synths I decided to trial two and the idea behind that was to select or pick one....well...kind of.. ES400 is great in a way it's immediate and fast to work with but I am finding it hard to stare at the sma...

You must not be familiar with the saying about leaving a good first impression. Your type of response is exactly mentality which is hurting on this board. Really snarky, hurting and marginalizing. Re: Hi-Res - slightly disappointed
Reason is now auto-scaling devices based on your resolution and DPI settings. VST plugins don't do that. It also has to load a high enough resolution version of each device to look good when zoomed in as high as 200% on a 4k display. Other than giving people the option to switch to a legacy display...
