Re: [cover] Daydreaming - Radiohead
BEAUTIFUL COVER!! What a great song choice to cover. The subtle thing that makes that song unique to me is the opposing rhythm of the bass notes of the piano in the original song. My only suggestion would be to add that as either piano or another instrument.

Re: (downtempo/world?) ekhinos - alma
Nice track! I think the bass and drum is at a fine volume level for the type of song. I think they just are slightly too boomy though if listened to through a sub-woofer.

Re: (Psychadelic/Alt-Rock) A Series Of Rounds (The Soul Resistor)
Hi, this is my first post requesting feedback in this forum. Looking for mix/mastering/production feedback. I think that the bass sounds a bit flat (not tonal), blurry and muddy so I am trying to find ways to give that more definition and clarity. Thank you for listening! [media]https://soundcloud....

Re: Key Command For Cable Routing?
If you use something like an Apple trackpad, you can click to create a connection, and then swipe very quickly to navigate the rack with inertia to then make a far connection pretty quickly. I've requested the feature to double-click to assign connections many times, beginning on the day I saw this...

Key Command For Cable Routing?
Sometimes I have two rack instruments or effects that are far apart on the rack and I need to route cables between them. Rather than waiting sometimes 20 seconds or more to drag a new cable from one instrument to the other, is there a key command that would allow me to click on an output jack on an ...

Re: Is Audacity still safe to use?
What help is Audacity for a Reason user? (I have not looked at it in many years.) Audacity is useful for two things for me: Noise Reduction - it is great for removing hum from noisy audio tracks Saving a finished track to different formats (flac, mp3, ogg, etc) So, if the alternatives mentioned her...

Re: [Breaks] I Got An Idea - Reflexion X
cool track, and i support your anti-war sentiment. i can only understand the english lyrics. if you hadn't said so, i wouldn't immediately think this is a protest song just by listening to it. it's definitely got attitude and i think i hear what you are trying to convey. the war is definitely ridicu...

Re: (Trance/Psytrance/Goa) Supernatural Jalfrezi
cool track and nice mix. i'm listening on headphones and i think that there's something about a frequency that contributes to the snappiness of the pulse kick that would make my ears start to hurt after a while though

Re: Reason 11 Export Audible Crackling
Thanks for the responses everyone. Here's what I've found so far: The performance bottleneck I have definitely seems to be the sound card. I found a utility to ensure max CPU turbo speed (no throttling) and at constant 75% CPU usage with a small buffer size (256 or less) there is significant stutter...

Re: Reason 11 Export Audible Crackling
Thanks for the responses. I have the sample rate set to 48000 and the buffer set to 192, so it's not extremely low. It can go as low as 16 but 192 gives me 8ms of output latency which is basically undetectable to me. If I set the buffer higher than this, the latency starts to be audibly detectable ...

Reason 11 Export Audible Crackling
I've had this issue on two separate laptops. Any time that I export a somewhat complex song, I get audible crackling in random places in the final .WAV export. I've confirmed that the noise is definitely part of the .WAV file. Both laptops are i7s running Windows 10 with 12-16 gigs of RAM. I can tol...

Re: Gain staging in Reason question
You're right if you're talking about instrument volume level vs channel fader. I'm not sure if that what he was referring to though. I read It as instrument volume level vs gain at the top of the channel (ie the input gain control to the rest of the channel strip). In that scenario, it shouldn't ma...

Re: Gain staging in Reason question
There is a difference. Whether it's noticeable or problematic depends on the exact situation. 1. A volume change on the instrument affects the gain structure of everything down the line - the insert FX and the Mixer's channel strip (dynamics and EQ). It also affects the mixer's Sends. This can chan...

Gain staging in Reason question
I'm working on gain staging a song at the moment and wondered if there was really any difference between adjusting the volume of the Rack Instrument vs adjusting the Gain (edit: not volume) on the mixer. It's all digital so I figure there isn't but I thought I'd ask.

Re: Selig Leveler Question
Thank you for the replies Mr. Selig and MrFigg! I feel better knowing that I'm not missing some additional method to find the valley level. Your explanation makes sense. Should I also interpret from your response that the "Quick Vocal Leveling Setup" section in the manual is a quick way to get a sta...

Re: Selig Leveler Question
Thanks for the replies. Finding the proper dB valley manually is still definitely easier than leveling and compressing manually, so still excited about this RE. As I was going through my tracks with the Leveler, it just made me wonder if there was a better way to find the value than what I was using.

Selig Leveler Question
I have just purchased this brilliant, time saving RE and I have one question about finding the proper audio 'valley' for a track. Is there some other plugin, RE or display indicator in Reason that might help me to find a good 'valley' value for a track? The Leveler manual says to use the Peak Level ...
