Re: Controlling Mixer Section with MIDI Control Surface
You need to create two remote maps (both of which are linked to your controller device). The remote map intended for controlling the mixer you’ll lock to the master mix section. This allows your controller keyboard (and other controls) to MIDI follow whatever you want (such as an instrument) while t...

Re: The podcast (Sound Minds) is here!
This seems to be a side-project by Grace McCallum, who just happens to work at Reason Studios. Grace’s experience seems to be around the social and legal aspects of music (such as copywriting) and not the technical details of creating music. She may not know how to use Reason (and certainly not on t...

Re: What midi controller do you use?
Regarding tap tempo, if you’re interested in getting a mixer like the Behringer X-Touch, my free mixer interface has a tap tempo function included (the “TOUCH” button on the mixer). https://www.jaexx.com/blog/reason-custom-behringer-x-touch-remote-map-layout/ Of all my hardware, Nektar Panorama P1, ...

Re: Reason Studios shares their roadmap
My suggestion for the bundles would be something like this: This is so well thought out, it feels less like a post by a user of Reason and more like an internal leak for a pitch idea at Reason Studios. Even the titles of the bundles sound like a real thing. I don’t like the idea others have had reg...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
Remote function for the previous insert controls will work similarly to how automation works now. Load a project in which you automated those controls before. You'll notice your combinator patch is loaded in the insert and the automation is carried over to those controls. When remote support is fix...

Re: Reason and Huge Track Counts
Maybe you could have a fast computer and it’s just Reason. But… regarding running something from an SSD, as other’s have mentioned, is outdated. You need to be concerning yourself with not if you’re running Reason from an SSD but what kind of connection you’re running it with. In short? You should b...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
I know the controls are promised to come back Regarding the insert and mastering controls being missing from hardware mixers currently, Reason Studios is apparently working to add “ordering” for remote support. A big misconception is that this means insert and mastering controls for my free mixer i...

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs
Regarding performance and some things not working, I have absolute faith Reason Studios will fix them and that it won’t take too long. This is one of the reasons I don’t recommend upgrading to Reason 12 “at this time”.

Re: My Feedback - Sustainability
I have the Macmini M1. Everything is running very smooth and fast here, but I don't use VST plugins, only REs ... I’m basically the same, I don’t use VST’s… In fact, I’m one of the only people out there that hates them . When it comes to REs, I use them even less than most here, only owning two RE ...

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs
I'm reluctant to upgrade from 11 Suite this time. Yeah, I like the new Combinator 2, but there’s so many issues with Reason 12 (the first time over ever experienced major technical issues with Reason since version 1). Regarding my free mixer interfaces, such as the 24 channel MJ X-Touch Trinity , t...

Re: The mysterious obsession with virtual channel strips
I love the virtual (unofficial) SSL 9000K of Reason. 99% all of my EQing of individual tracks is done via the channel strip of Reason (DAW) using my free 24 channel MJ X-Touch Trinity mixer interface . A lot of people using Softube’s Console 1 hit me up, interested in using one of my mixer interface...

Re: My Feedback - Sustainability
From my experience, ironically, performance seems to be worst on computers with fast semi-integrated (Apple M1) and discreet (RTX 2060) GPU’s. I’ve always admired that Reason was a lightweight program that could run on people’s machines smoothly, even if they didn’t have the fastest computers. Right...

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs
I'm on an i9-9900k with 64GB RAM, so I don't think it's my system to blame... Isn’t that funny, we both are experiencing issues and both have the same processor (but I desoldered mine and replaced it with a custom brass lid for increased overclocking / performance). Are people really experiencing “...

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs
A majority of people seems to have the same or better performance and it doesn't seem to be related to computer specs I thought the opposite was true? Performance on my MacBook Pro M1 (16 GB ram) is worst than Reason 11.x Suite, especially scrolling. And performance on my latest version Windows 10 ...

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs
Especially since I have to re-deploy my Mixer Jaexx maps every time (Reason forces them back to Reason default.) Using macOS, right? It seems because Reason is now storing the maps inside the program itself and, when the program gets an update; boom, remote map replaced. Making my remote map versio...

Re: What's Happened To the ReGroove Mixer?
I must admit, like with Blocks (is that even still a thing?!) I hardly ever use ReGroove. I probably should give it another go. You should. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-JEMLuPgmE The Regroove is great at capturing some of your own live playing (in a current song or another song of yours) to ap...

Re: LED VU Meter
That’s my concern in designing Combinator is making them CPU efficient (even though I rock an overclocked desktop i9 de-soldered with a custom lid and an Apple M1 laptop). I’ve noticed rack extensions, even simple utility ones, are way less efficient compared to stock devices. Like, in testing I’ve ...

Re: No Auto Save Feature? Lost 4 hours of my life! PISSED OFF!!!
Sometimes ppl think it would be so easy to implement a simple feature, but in reality there is so much stuff to considere and even a simple auto-save can be a nightmare. That’s also what I’m worried about; something gettin’ screwed up and making things not work right. Like high resolution; Reason 1...

Re: Coming soon: Drumbinator
Dude, to me, the most impressive thing is your workflow idea. you can drag a new device or preset onto the existing one and it will retain its key mapping (via CV from a silent Redrum) and its volume / pan / mute (via a mixer14:2). Yeah, that's awesome. I assume you'd stick with one synth device (sa...

they've -- again -- not included the TextOutput for the labels! Yeah, you know what I hope? I hope they don't just start supporting text labels but instead add two entries; the object's "name" and the object's "label". The name is what would appear technically. It would appear in tool tips, in dial...

Yeah, I'm hoping for some indication meters as well. Even just a little four segment audio indicator, or heck... just a red audio activity dot, would be useful.
